The spoked wheels look awesome. Bummed to hear about the supply issues, I planned on upgrading my 390 ADV to spoked sometime early Summer of next year. I guess we’ll have to wait and see. Great vid!
They do look great. I look forward to your review of the tubeless conversion. I am unwilling to go to tubes while my rims hold air! One tubed bike is enough for me...
Hubs are Husqvarna Svartpilan...I bought a pair a while ago, didn't use them, stuck them on eBay, nobody wanted them,so I stuck a tyre on last week, low and behold, someone just bought them...people in the main are pretty clueless, a right bargain to be had, but no one thinks outside the box!
Hello Matt, greetings from Colombia. I recently received my AOMC spoke wheel set. I have a question: did your set come with spacer bushings? Because mine didn't, and the ones from the cast rims don't fit. Great channel btw.
Thanks. Yes, mine came with the spacers. I thought the front ones were the same but the spacer in the rear is different. I think you will need to contact AOMC. These spoked wheels are from the Husky 401 models. You can also find the right spacer looking it up for these bikes. Hope this helps.
Hello thanks for your video. I think I bought the last set of these that were available but unfortunately I received them not in the original packaging and assembled but they were missing the spacers. I contacted KTM and they couldn't provide me with a parts break down so I could see what I was missing. I am hoping you could answer a couple of questions for me: 1. are the spacers that go inside the seals next to the inside side of the forks for the front tire and the spacers that go in the seals on the inside side of the rear link fork the same ones/sizes as the spacers for the cast wheels? These are the spacers that were zap strapped to the spoked when unboxing. 2. Is there a spacer that goes between the inside of the sprocket carrier and the wheel hub for the rear wheel? Thanks in advance, any help.would be much appreciated as I can't mount these until I get this figured out.
I think I can help you. There are two places I go to find the parts break down for KTM bikes. AOMC.MX and ktmtwins.com have the parts break down diagrams. As for the front wheel, the wheel spacers from the cast wheels should be the same as the spoked wheels. I checked part numbers between the 390 ADV and Vitpilen (which has spoked wheels). The spacers are exactly the same for parts interchangeability. On the rear wheel the sprocket carrier does not need an external spacer. It fits against the swing arm Inside the cush drive there is a spacer between the bearings for the cast wheels but not for the spoked wheels. On the rotor side of the wheel there is a spacer. You can order the spacers from these two websites. I recommend you look at the parts diagram to see how everything is assembled. Hope this helps and you are able to figure it out how to get the wheels installed.
Hi Matt. What a bargain! Hope I'm not being dumb but is the front a 19" or a 21"? As for availability, quite a few of the Powerparts accessories for the 390 seem hard to get. Have often thought about spoked wheels for mine, especially if it might be feasible to get an 18/21" set up although I guess that might be quite a complicated mod. Guess KTM don't do it as it would be a tad too niche a market for them - would make the little rocket quite a weapon though.
@@RichardGilbert-m1s I looked into this and read some posts of others doing it. With the high fender a 21" wheel fits but at full suspension travel it rubs. I don't think it is worth the trouble with this bike.
I have not done it yet, but plan to in the next few months. I have done it before and it is straight forward but you have to be meticulous in each step. Take your time. I will do a video on it.
@@advmatt Ya I called PowerParts today. And I knew more about these rims then they did. Worst CS than USPS, and that's saying something! I really don't understand why they took this decision. In my opinion spoke rims are a MUST if you are going to ride off road which was the whole reason I purchase this bike. Cheers

Hopefully supply will return. Fingers crossed.
I knew you would get these. They look great. Thx for your content. Love to watch it.

Great set for the price. Fitted mine a couple of months ago.

Thanks, Matt. I contacted them days ago, but they haven't provided a solution. Thanks for the advice regarding the Husky; I'll try with those
Good informative video. Now you just need to get the Tusk High Fender Kit to provide some more wheel clearance in the front.
Yeah, I just starting looking at it. It's on the long list of modifications.
was the weight much different between the two types of wheels ? do look good ,,cheers steve/australia
I didnt weigh them, but the spoked wheels did feel a bit heavier to me.
Any idea about the price of the alloy ones? I have 4 of them and planning to sell them and buy spoked ones
I have no idea what they are worth used. To replace them with new it would cost $1800 USD.

It's a 19" front wheel. 21/18 on this bike would be really interesting.
Thoughts on changing to a 21 inch front wheel?

@@advmattgood to know!
I got a set of the spoke wheels but they did not have the sprocket bolts. What did you use for the sprocket bolts, the stock ones are too long.
My wheel set came with them. Contact the supplier. You had missing parts from your kit.
Hello sir, from where u bought this set
Im from India.. Thanks in advance 👍
What is the size of the tyers? Front and rear?
110/90r19 f4ont 130/80R17 rear
Hello Friend
How can i buy this weels?
Unfortunately KTM discontinued these wheels. Rottweiler Performance had a spoked wheel set but I don't know if they are still carrying it.
It's tube tyre. So what about Puncher issues..??
Change or patch the tube. The front tire has Ride On puncture repair fluid in it. It plug small holes. I havent had to try it yet.
can the pressure be reduced to 14 psi on these rims? thank!
I wouldn't go that low. The rim's dont have a bead lock.
@@advmatt i do 14psi on my sur ron without bead lock but it's only 4hp)))
Hello. One quick question. Have you done the tubeless conversion yet? If so, was it straight foreward?
I have not done it yet, but plan to in the next few months. I have done it before and it is straight forward but you have to be meticulous in each step. Take your time. I will do a video on it.
@@advmatt Fantastic. Thanks. I found a set in Austria. They are not that expensive, considering the two disc brakes that come with the rims.
They look badass. Now chuck the windscreen and you'll almost have real dirtbike! Braapp!
Getting there, it's the 1000s of road miles that ensure I stay a poser.
Do you feel a lot of difference on the road? I think the difference in weight it's noticeable. I bought them too but haven't installed them yet 🤭
It's hard for me to say because I put knobby tires on. I had been running TKC70s. Everything felt different.
nice
Nice!!!
Took me 3 months
KTM's discontinuation of these wheels makes me so flippin mad. I have decided to just sell this F'in 390. I for one will NEVER again own KTM ANYTHING!
I was really frustrated too. Contact the companies to confirm for yourself. They might have a new part number when the 490 comes out, maybe.....

@@johnscott9829 it's a shame for sure. Sorry dude. I can only imagine how frustrated you are now.

Aren't the svartpilen/vitpilen rims useable?
