    Thanks for this. Unfortunately my hours have been cut back at work so I am going to ride the stock tires until they fall off. Definitely consider these as a replacement.

    Also helps to set the tires out in the sun to warm up and make them more flexible before installing.

    I’m quite surprised you did all the other things to the bike before this. I’ve got 1800 miles on mine and still running them too but now might be the time to do the change

      Keep in mind I just got my endorsement and license last year so 90% of this is new to me but I learn fast. I think a set of these tires will go on every bike I ride from now on. I love them. They are confidence inspiring. They took away most of my fear of leaning the bike...

    Ive had 5 motorcycles and have ended up taking all the wind screens off because of the turbulance behind then shakes my head above 60-65mph just like the feeling in a truck behind a road tractor. I have raised them up off the headlight to get some air under it and trying to get the air deflected higher to over my head but nothing worked on any of them….under 60 it was fine and worked great in the rain but i wear a full face helmet anyway so i just tossed them to the side.
    Im going to get me a dual purpose bike like that, so many fun places to go and dont want a dedicated street or trail bike anymore

      Out of the three bikes I purchased all at the same time this is the one that spoke to me the most so it is staying. I have another windscreen episode coming up soon although I find it humorous all of the claims these manufacturers make. So far this rade garage windscreen has provided the most predictable behavior on the bike...

    Hopefully you like them and agree the stock tires suck off road. I was all over the place in some gravel last week so ordered some Motoz Rallz.

      Yeah I was so disappointed with the stock tires offroad but then again they are like a 70/30 tires at best. I bet these are more like 50/50 which is perfect to me. Totally changes the way the bike feels to me and I love it.

    Although you were able to break the bead with your heavy duty truck bead breaker, it looks like any mis-step with it could result in a broken wheel. If I may suggest a much more practicable solution, Motion Pro's BeadPro bead breakers work very well. I run tube type spoked wheels and I have the aluminum version as I carry them on the bike, but they also have a steel version which are longer and less expensive. I haven't had an issue with the smaller aluminum version, especially on the KTM 390, but the steel version would give you more leverage. Also when reinstalling the tire, I find that it really helps to place you knee on the opposite side you are spooning on to keep the tire rim down in the slot. You can also use a large socket to keep it pushed down. MotionPro does have a little device called a Bead Buddy that looks like it would work well also. If it were me, I would also use the rim protectors you have for both removing and replacing the tire on the rim. I hope the Battleaxe tires worked out well for you, they are very competitively priced. My preference would be the Motoz Tractionator RallZ, but they are more expensive. Thanks for sharing!

      I won't be buying any motion pro products as this method worked just fine for my needs and desires. Thanks.

    Great tire. I did a reveiw on my channel. They don't last super long ~ 2500-5000 miles depending on how your right throttle hand. They do speak the sound of their people when on the road though (lots of tire noise).

    • @SeanFillner
      @SeanFillner  Рік тому +1

      Mine just hum and to me the noise is comforting like the tires say "Do what you want and we will grip the road for you". If I get 1000 miles out of them I will be happy. They are cheap and easy to swap.
