There are small victories, there are losses, there are tragedies, and there is liberation. The Helldivers 2 community has claimed victory, dealt with loss, and pushed past tragedy to fight for a better future. What they haven’t experienced before is false hope. Framed in the lens of total victory, celebrations across the galaxy erupted as we thought that we’d exterminated the Automaton menace once and for all. This was not the case. Arrowhead had a trick up their sleeve yet again, as the Automatons are back with a vengeance. We need all hands on deck, Divers. Welcome to what the Automatons had planned all along - baiting the entire Helldivers community.

Want to point this out because I've notice a grand total of 1 person speaking on it: The Automaton Armada used FTL Jumps to get to where they are now as fast as they did.
I haven't played the first game but what I do know is that FTL Tech came from the Illuminate.

Another thing no one seems to be mentioning is that the Automaton fleet clearly came from _outside_ of our galaxy. We are witnessing the opening shots of the first Inter-Galactic War.
@@WarriorVirtue I don't think the map on the ship is the whole galaxy, isn't it just the section of space Super Earth has explored and inhabited?
@@rabidporcupine0You’re right. Another thing is that we also use FTL travel. Automatons are descendants of the Cyborgs who came from Super Earth, so Automatons using FTL technology does not mean they are allied with the Illuminate.
In the future, AH will probably add the Illuminate, but this doesn’t serve as evidence towards that.
I definitely felt that the “somehow the automatons returned” line was a dig at Star Wars

Not a HD1 vet, but I knew the bots would be back. It was pretty obvious to me, I’m more surprised at everyone else acting like this is surprising.

as much as it sucks from an objective based progression system, i love that it sucks, because this is how war is, we're not carving a block of clay that is done when its done, we're supposed to feel like we're fighting a flexible entity capable of strategizing and adapting with "moves" of their own, losing is part of the experience
but gaming in general has made it so even the slightest association with any pushback and failure that wasnt "your fault" becomes extremely unpleasant, but i feel like people getting genuinely mad about it dont realize this IS the intended experience
Yeah, this game is kind of has a "life isn't fair" attitude and I find that so refreshing.
There's no handholding, it's get good or die. I've just recently have gotten good enough to do helldive difficulty and it felt really rewarding because it was a struggle to get there unlike other games where you can pretty much immediately jump into the highest difficulty if you are an intermediate skilled gamer (which I am, I'm not great by any means).
If people don't like this type of challenge, they should find another game.

Dead on. This was meant to be a kick in the nuts, and it was always going to happen - nothing was going to stop it. Sure maybe it'd be nice to get a freebie for winning Swift Disassembly, but for all we know the bots might've taken 3 free sectors if not for that. Too many people actually bought into the in-universe propaganda and thought things wouldn't get monumentally worse just as they're told the galaxy is safe once more.
You know we can still fail and have a reasonable objective to complete right?
To just tell the community to fail and forcefully have them fail is disengaging and bullshit.
That doesn't add cooperation it splits it.
And don't get why people think we should fail the story and be forcefully failed on the objective.
That just sounds fucking stupid.
The moment I realized it was rigged. I just went to the bugs because I'm not wasting time on bullshit.

as someone who deployed to the automaton front as soon as I enlisted part of me is happy the bots are back. adjusting to life on the bug front was hard, fighting the terminids just didn't hit the same.

My old machine can't run it very well. I never get above 45 frames and I get hard stutters when I call in strikes. I suppose it's time for me to hang up the cape.
Arrowhead don't think like game developpers, they think like dungeon masters. Make things compelling and redo things on the fly
The Adjudicator is more like a high damage, low reserve ammo Assault Rifle due to the Auto option

Yaaaa I don't think there was A SINGLE PLAYER who actually thought we beat them all. Nobody thought that lol. We ALL knew they'd be back. The game had only been out for 2 months at the time. No way would they allow us to fully wipe out an entire faction that early in the game's life.

Yeah... No way they were going to scrap what was probably hundreds - if not thousands - of hours making those automaton assets for the game 2 months into it
You'd be surprised, there legit were people who thought the bots would be gone, or gone for an unreasoanble amount of time. No way were they going to be out for more than a few days, even a week was a bit too much
I figured that they would be more in the skirmishes esque tempo while we did more stuff with the terminids. Of course everyone expected them to come back the turn around time though does make it feel a little underwhelming. This won’t stop me from personally liberating chort bay spill oil!
The worst case scenario was if they followed the first game. In the first game a defeated faction wouldn't be playable until the end of the campaign. A typical campign last generally between 20 to 40 day, and ended when all faction were defeated or super Earth was lost. .
i honestly needed the automatons to return, so i can spread scrap once again. I was there at Draupnir, I was at Malevalon Creek, The Swamps of the invaded worlds were my home. And now... It is time to Spill oil.

I never expected them to STAY dead, tbf. Even if only to maintain game mechanics. I imagined they'd keep pushing back from somewhere off of the map, never truly dead. I never in my wildest dreams imagined a swath of them, automatically stealing the ENTIRE system if Cyberstan, and then some...
But where is the Automataton's "super" robo plantet

From Tien Kwan to Malevelon Creek the Helldivers fought through steel and oil we trudged to the last planets and wiped out the first legion, little did we know there would be hundreds more to come….
Problem with this game is it needs a space station or hub for all players to run around and chat. As currently there's no coordination, defend 5 planets and people are everywhere which isn't going to work, all people need to be focused on one planet at a time.

While I would like to sign up for the Helldivers, I do not meet the hardware specifications needed for the simulations, meaning I am unable to process to the final stages. If I could be there, I would.

what was funny, was after the scout fleet got wiped out, I kind of just felt shell-shocked and off when fighting bugs. Now with the bots back, bugs are back to being easy mode.

I've never played these types of games until my daughter got me playing HD2. This is going to be the GOTY for sure, not only is the community hilarious and involved but the CEO is a badass as well. They get my money and time for sure.

lol when they gave us a 1b kill quest and we finished it in a day so they gave us a defend mission the next day where we have to defend atleast 10 planets in 4 days, its been almost 3 days and we have 4 planets defended

I stopped playing Helldivers when the Automatons returned.
Every time I had a moment to help everyone eradicate them I took it cause it was so close.
I was excited for what’s next. Instead we got more of them. Seemed lazy and a waste of time

Lately I take a break from this game, cause I max outs of medals & nothing to buy in warbond, all gears had the same many stat just different skins, game getting harder guns getting quicker or nerf, enemies only 2 types, and this 2 type of enemy is from helldiver 1, when is the new type of enemies & new planet becoming available to play? That's my question, cause I got burn out. 😊
Malevelon Creek has like 400 mililion bots killed, Tibit has over 1.1 billion bots killed. But Estanu, on the bug front, which has been defended more than 5 times, has over 3.1 billion bug kills.
I personally still think that those bug players defending Estanu are more heroic than those who defended and retook Malevelon Creek. Me personally? I go where the Major Order dictates.
Defending Space Constantinople with half the players we had on the bot front, 0 support, and in fact hatred and disdain from our front, they are the true heroes.
I'm glad they are back as I enjoy fighting the bots but I think they should have waited a bit longer till they brought them back. Also should've left the drones and walkers till their return. No hate though I'm obsessed with this game, best game I've played in years!!!
Tbh. I want to play the Automaton or bug faction side. (I wonder if that might happen in the future 😏)

Galactic Commander, and former soldier, for whatever that's worth. I have questions. Questions with photos, neither of which I hope are treason or apostacy. I've seen battle sites with SEAF Personnel, Bugs, and Bots. I know this because the bodies and torn up turf and terrain remained. All I can safely say at this time without committing treason is that all divers should be advised I have seen Bots and bugs engaging enemies that we cannot see. This is most likely a bug but it's odd. Furthermore I must point out that bots are oddly poor at combat if you think about it, almost like a conscripted army. Some of them have even outright refused to shoot me. I attempted to emote only to test the capability of the bot so that I may more readily dismantle them. Because I spill oil for democracy. I dropped the creek when the armor had been sabotaged and didn't work because of bureaucracy. I was with you when we took the mechs. I spill oil and I occasionally go on leave to kill bugs, only so I can better spill oil.....anyway it didn't have the capacity to emote with me anyway so I shot all three of them, yeah I forgot to mention that, three of them refused to engage me and watched. I shot them all of course, noted their acuity or lack thereof. So either one of a few things is happening, either the bots are running from something, or those sick cyborgs are conscripting their force from....somewhere. Again I have my theories, but nothing that is not treasonous. The only thing that I do know for sure is that if it is a push then I say be advised, rarely does an enemy use a weapon that they cannot employ with repeatability. They will push again and probably at intervals. Remember David picked up five stones, everyone carries more than one magazine........two is one, one is none...... we dropped the first bombs a few days apart to make the enemy think we had the ability to drop those bombs on the same schedule as the fire bombs. Every few days, when in reality it would have taken us a while to field a third bomb. If they are running from something there won't be an interval. They'll just be running it'll be a push that just keeps coming. Either way stay vigilant. Rooster, out.
