Helldivers 2 - New Factory Strider Support Weapon, Eagle/Orbital, Primary Weapon & grenade Testing - Ігри
Orbitals laser is really good against factory striders, it wasn't a few days ago but that changed as well as the face weak spot being on par with the underbelly weak spot. I'm making another vid but this one still serves as a baseline for TTK with support weapons and other tips.
Interesting fact the legs joints and neck are the weakest points on a star wars AT AT as well btw are the mini guns 360 or just 180
In the other vid can you test out how many shots it takes for explosive weapons like the scorcher or eruptor to kill the factory strider in the belly after already being shot with an AT weapon?
just a thought doe, i know the thermite nades suck butt, but theres probably a hard cap on fire dot per second so one at a time might be different? oh and just a pro tip... the kill counter turns red when you're doin work.
Yeah i did some testing earlier and it seems the face weakspot was changed to be just the eye and the plate around the eye, not the full grey strip. Seems like the health on it was also decreased, it took 4 autocannon shots to the stomach and 6 to the eye for me. Could be that other bots were hitting it but im unsure. Would make sense as these are mass produced whereas the ones from the previous front were proof of concept.
Edit: i think the undercarriage is bugged too, it “opens” as in lets the claws with devs down but the door stays there so im wondering if its working properly as a weakspot right now.
I need a bigger platform to say this on so someone like yourself says it - ( I run autocannon for bots ) If you shoot the undercarriage of a drop ship, Im assuming its splash from the autocannon that actaully dmgs the hulk, and there is a hulk in said dropship, they will be stuck "falling" in place when they land and wont move
Can we all appreciate this video took at least 3 shirts to make?
Good enough measurement of time for me
I counted 4 , white, orange, blue and black. Though the white and orange might have been the same in different light lol
In memory of the shirts we lost along the way… wait
Autocannon users stay winning
be careful how much you enjoy something. the devs might see it and nerfem 😶🌫️
@@saltwarden8218 Maybe? The devs already stated they feel the AC is one of the most balanced weapons because it takes up your backpack slot to operate.
If this is the case does this mean we can get a backpack for the railgun to not be ungodly dogshit? How about a backpack for the LMG type weapons that just removes their magazines gives a massive ammo pool.
It’s not that good tbh
probably the best balanced weapon in the game, slow to aim, takes up the backpack, crappy sights, no zoom, a real risk of self-deletion if mis-used plus a kneeling-reload. But it hits HARD when you land the shot well and get your positioning right.
@@Alphascrub_77TBH i think its balanced very well… you need to stand still and charge up a really powerful shot for hulks/tanks etc but you can run and gun on devastators and bezerkers
Its important to note: the AT-AT has 4 vents on its back. If an airstrike or precision strike (or equivalent) hits them then it dies instantly
13:57 is prime strider killing position for those vents/heatsinks
I knew I'd experienced that before. I actually prefer precision strike vs rail cannon or equivalent because cooldown. And precision of course. So when I told my mate who had 500's and missed every shot that it was practically full health and the precision did it, he didn't believe it. Probably because he subsequently died as I threw it but whatever.
You can shoot those with scorcher...etc.
Yeah that's also why the 120mm barrage works well against it. There are enough shells in a small enough area that one shell will directly blow up the vents.
Less than a full mag of AC can kill it too when shooting heat sinks
Factory strider top cannon can even destroy stratagem jammers. Witnessed it today during a particularly hot drop.
A single 380 mm barrage can clear multiples. I have the ship module to reduce spread, and the Striders are so large that it's common to hit one multiple times. I've killed two, several patrols, and an inattentive teammate with a single stratagem.
such an efficient way to kill teammates
My democracy loveing heart will only truly be quenched with a 380,120, and walking barrage all at the same time just to make sure.
@@Raven5431 These 3 stratagems are all or nothing for me as well. Glad I'm not the only one! Not only that, I HAVE to use them in tandem.
@D3adCl0wn best missions are the command tower missions to destroy the entire base which is the main reason i would grab them. But if you don't use them all your guaranteed drop ships anyway so might as well wipe out everything then you can move on while waiting the next 3 minutes to bop the next mission objective never have to step foot inside and in 15 minutes ish your team is ready for evac.
@@mercury_lampI always say "380" when I throw one down. With the ship upgrade to reduce spread, it should give you enough time to run away and not get hit. I seen more people tend to still run towards it, but that's if I go difficulties below level 7
The devs really need to work on consistency of damage. Under no circumstance should an auto cannon defeat one of these in 6-7shots, yet two 500kg bombs can't.
Nah that just showcases how terrible 500s are
Idk, I think it's a good way to promote more underrated weapons like the AMR and the laser canon.
It's honestly really tiring to see 95% of people going for the quasar+500kgbomb in their loadout so I'm all for letting other weapons deal more damage to newer ennemies than the current "meta"
@@braixendon5496 yes! This is exactly what I'm saying. The 500 kg bombs are average at best in my opinion. I think the damage needs to increase by at least 50%, and the area of affect needs to be doubled.
Arrowhead wants weak spots to matter on big enemies. That's obvious from how they nerfed the chargers.
@@Oliander712 I get that, I really do. However, if any 1100 pound bomb traveling over 100 miles an hour strikes at target, then explodes, completely engulfs that target, that target should be destroyed.
You got the wrong guy...
It takes 20 max charge shots 🤣
If the adjudicator is the clown then the railgun is the entire circus...
The fact that a primary can kill it (Dominator) is insane. Especially as fast as it does.
The Dominator is pretty cracked already vs automatons, but don't tell the devs that!!
@FrankEG88 people keep saying that, but isn't the balance getting better? Slugger is good again and i see most ppl switching guns now
Dominator genuinely a better support weapon than the Railgun at this point
@@RobinTheBot I thought the Slugger got nerfed.
@@Eight-Bytes it got nerfed before i started playing but i can attest slugger is still decent at worst
If they don't simply outright buff the Railgun, I'm hoping in the future we get something like the exosuit-unlocking Major Order, where we secure a planet doing finishing touches on Railgun development (the flavor text of the weapon calls it "experimental" so the idea is getting it out of that phase of development and refining its effectiveness), and that coincides with a rework of how it functions; no longer having a Safe mode, but you can hold a max charge for ~5 seconds before it explodes (so people can still blow themselves up for comedy), and making it always possess very heavy armor penetration, so charging up just increases the damage. There's no reason for the Railgun to exist as it does right now when the Quasar Cannon exists.
railgun is hitscan and kills mediums far faster than quasar can.
For example it's about 13s(3s charge 10s cooldown) for quasar to oneshot headshot a hulk, railgun oneshots in same spot but reload/charge far faster.
@@EcchiRevenge I don't usually carry a support stratagem, but if there's one in the map for free I choose it every time even if there's an AMR. The problem with the Railgun is that people expect it to excel on EVERYTHING. It is still the best for mediums and Hulks. If we could charge it while running then quick-scope with it, it would make it better IMO.
I think everyone kinda forgets that the Railgun can hit multiple enemies in a line. People only found value in its armor-penetrating capabilities.
If anything, the Railgun should capitalize on this ability and make it a group-clearing weapon. What's holding it back for the most part is its maximum ammo capacity and slow charge speed.
It really shouldn't excel in what the AMR and the EAT/RR/Quasar were made for.
@@Kensuke0987it penetrates like 2 enemies at most and that’s not consistent
@@Kensuke0987 ammo restock should be doubled, recharge on sprint would be nice. The nerf only made its ttk slower by 1 sec and its inability to kill titans and tanks so I don't know what the fuss is about. Eat/quasar are exclusively for heavy targets yet theyre 'goated' but killing mediums AND hulk/chargers are meh? Hard agree on the mag stats tho.
Love how you do the timeline at the top of the video with the weapons and the blue progress bar. Waiting for the OhDough graphic design spin-off channel 👍
I like that design as well
That shows why railgun should be buffed again, it just not does what a railgun should do.
It's in the worst spot considering the risk it poses
@@OhDough yeah, that's the problem the risk reward thing doesn't work if there is no reward. If it is fully charged it should penetrate everything and do a good amount of dmg.
@@Diabolospk You don't understand, it was "bRaInDeAd EaSy" so they had to nerf it. Just ignore all the buffs they gave the rocket launchers and Anti-material Rifle, and how strong the Quasar Cannon is.
"WHY ARE YOU A META SLAVE!? STOP PLAYING SOLO DIFFICULTY 9! IT'S COMPLETELY VIABLE!" - The Average Reddit and/or Discord response
@@OhDoughit’s crazy how the railgun have so much trouble taking down gun ships too. I don’t think the railgun is completely useless right now since it can still take down hulks and devastors better than the AMR but it just boggles my mind that the scorcher (a primary) can take down gunships faster than the railgun. Also the same for factory strider
I guess the proper terminology for Arrowhead is, "It needs to be rebalanced from its current under performing status." I don't play the railgun personally. It's just not my thing because of how mid it is post nerf (I didn't join until after the big nerf so I don't know the good rail gun life style.) But they've definitely taken it too far just like how they've taken it too far with fire DOT. They saw the rail gun could do things. Unacceptable!!!! They also saw incendiary weapons not being used that much or being used in games that were successful. INCONCEIVABLE!!!! It's not like the rail gun by default should be a harder hitting AMR piercing further in and able to deal more localized damage than the AC or anything. And it's also not like there's a bug in the game that only the host of the game has DOT privilege that that just might skew complaints and data towards saying fire sucks, but hey; these were obviously the correct changes to be made, right? Seriously, the categories/roles of support weapons should be Rail Gun for unfettered armor penetration and a set amount of damage (with possible over penetration into a further target), AMR for pinpoint destruction on weapons by passing armor, and Auto Cannon to bludgeon armor into submission. Why is this so difficult to understand for Arrowhead? The way they've got it now is that the AMR is a better rail gun and the Auto Cannon is a more destructive AMR that requires less precision.
Whoa, a lot of work you did making this video and its greatly appreciated. The amount of editing alone I could imagine, well done. Lots of helpful information broken down concisely with examples as well.
Excellent editing with the weapons at the top filling up as their segment progresses. Nice touch.
I love the infographic-ish indicating which weapon r u talking abt at the top of screen. Thank u for great content
Eruptor will one shot the turrets on it's face, and of perfectly fired, will take out both in one shot.
I found the explosion from Eruptor shots is finicky so sometimes it won't explode right, that's why I sometimes 2-shot devs to the chest and other times I don't. Could be server shenanigans.
It's just the randomness of the shrapnel. If enough shrapnel hits practically anything except titans and these big mofo's, they die
Erupted is super random sometimes it takes out a gunship in one hit sometimes it takes like 10
@@user-bm7mo2ck6r try hitting between an engine and the main body. I can mostly consistently kill them that way assuming I can lead them well enough
thank you for the timestamps & concise explanations/showcases. excellent work
Very thorough, very informative 🙏 Much appreciated dude, I went from never even seeing an AT to seeing 3 of them in one mission, got absolutely clapped into the ground. We ended up just chucking Orbital Lasers and Airstrikes at them till they died. AMR and Recoiless are my favourite supports rn so I'm glad they're both decent at taking these things out
One of the most consistent and thorough HD2 Testers I watch!
always goated with great info. Direct and to the point. Plus great time stamps.
thanks for quality vids as always
I was about to hop on, I’m glad this came out before I did. I would have been completely naked against thing machine monstrosity. Thanks Dough
Flashing striders is a strat?
The AI must not be able to compute the purity of a helldivers abs.
Dang dude that is a huge amount of testing, gg! I loved the way you used the icons of the weapons and stratagems on the vid.
Knowledge is power is this is some great data! Thanks for taking the time to do thorough testing! Much appreciated!
I'm still kinda shock some people on reddit are still defending the railgun nerf to this day when a gun like AMR does an infinitely better job than it now....its so ass rn in terms of being a support weapon
and unsafe mode is so not worth it given its huge risk and abysmal reward
I'll defend the railgun nerf because it was ridiculous to give it Level 10 penetration with Rocket type limb damage.
But at the same time, the devs did kind of dig in way too deep into the explosive weakpoint this month, it makes the physical weapon feel extremely weak during automaton fights.
I think its ridiculous for a Pen9 railgun shot to not destroy those Strider gatling guns as well as the cooling vents, because those are weakpoints that universally should die from medium damage.
If you use Pen9 on a Pen5 weakness it should hurt like a truck.
I can entirely understand when the railgun doesn't do high damage to a Factory type of weakpoint. (The underbelly) It makes sense that this requires explosive since all factories require explosive damage to die, but we need an in-between.
I think the devs need to review their weakpoints and tweak some numbers there and there, there's to many bugs and inconsistencies with the damage values. Fire is still glitched, rockets have weird damage issues and right now explosive just looks to be the most stable so everything else feels bad
@@darkyan_1653 the nerf was justified at that point of the game but the game rn had so many balance fixes already and they haven't touch the railgun at all its been sitting in the void for how many balance patches already its been left in the dust by other primary weapons aswell
one buff they could've done was give it an actual good scope so you can actually aim for the head better or at least make unsafe mode not destroy the gun and player itself ( its such a stupid high risk and minimal reward tech )
I don't really mind its dmg or penetration nerf at all its just its overall performance is lacking in a lot of places compared to AMR or primaries like scorcher and JAR dominator
@@marzialalfonzocanada888 Damage wise it's alright, it's still the best against mediums and Hulks. Better scope, 2 second max charge window before explosion, and being able to charge while running would be fair. It suppose to be a run and gun anti-heavy support gun, but it's ergonomics doesn't quite make it balanced.
As someone who always preferred AMR to rail in HD2....the rail is better at close range and dealing with hulks. I thought the AMR buff would make it outclass the Railgun, but Railgun is much easier to snipe hulks with and can one shot them. Huge benefit
It is easier to use with the tradeoff of reload time.
The railgun is truly one of the weapons of all time.
Dude thank you for all the work you put into this it’s really nice to get all this info in one video
Bro, your hd2 content is S+ most insightful and detailed. second to none. Keep it up man.
Glad you got to post you strider factory guide 🤘
it kinda of worked out that I waited, got to test the new weapons on it
As always, thanks for the informative video!
really great video was waiting for yours to come out to get a comprehensive view.
Happy to see you were able to post this video in the end
this video is very helpful. appreciate the effort
I’ve one shotted factory strider with a single orbital precision strike before. I landed it right on top of the strider so that might be the best way to take these things down since unlike the 500kg it doesn’t land under the strider.
I’ve also one shotted with an eagle airstrike too, it works if you throw it perpendicular to the strider and have almost all the strike lands on it. It’s super cheap and has a 100 seconds cooldown.
I haven’t really tested all of this but both times the strider just dropped from the dropship so i would assume it’s full hp
It’s wild how dirty they did the rail gun just to give us the quasar.
Dude you are the goat for testing
I'll outright say thank you for this video. Of course this is kind of skewed towards your biases of support weapons and stratagems, BUT it at least gives me a base line of what to expect when I start running into them (I never did before the "Reclaimation".) Knowing that base line of like "Dominator is a solid primary against them" as the Dominator is a solid primary against the majority of bots to begin will is really helpful. Planning for a mission, dropping thinking you've got everything covered and then you run into a bile titan only to realize you and your team only have stuff to take out a mass of chargers like arc throwers and stuff.....it hurts. Knowing what can be doubled up (besides obvious meta weapons like the Quasar Cannon [yes, it is meta as an infinite EAT and the fact that EATs will solve most problems makes QC a very fast choice for meta builds]) helps me know what I can and can't do. If someone brought a Stalwart and they're going in charging at an Automa-chongus (hulk) I kind of roll my eyes and see what they find out with their fooling around. I think it's also safe to call factory striders, Automa-cows. They're large lumbering beasts that "birth" other things and they "practically" have udders. Not anatomically correct, but that's kind of the idea I was getting from watching this. "SLAP THE MECHANICAL UDDERS!!!!" Maybe that's just me because I feel like some of the bot spamming is just complete bulls*it. What? that's not offensive to call them mechanical udders. They're Automatons. They don't vote so they're not legally alive anyways.
Jesus Christ, it's like fighting a Strider from Heavy Gear.
Thanks for all the testing!!
i hope this video gets over a million views with the work you put in on it. holy shit man. legend
Thank you so much for making these kinds of videos in a community so rife with misinformation
dev used to describe the railgun as "spicy sniper rifle"
now this thing is more like a sniper rifle in ICU
they cut the life support on that thing would do better to that sorry pos
One shotting hulks is pretty spicy
@@T4nkcommander theres at least 5 weapon that can deal with hulk reliably and 4 of them you don’t need to charge the weapon
@@T4nkcommander tbh the anti material rifle is way spicier than rail gun now
Thanks for this massive effort brother
This was a great and comprehensive video.
Oh, no way, you actually found one? The thing is like trying to find big foot for me
You can find them on lvl 4 difficulty as a mission now. They also spawn a lot more often
I think they WERE ALL SENT AFTER ME.
I shit you not an eye of sauron saw our helldiver team and two of them dropped.
Followed by... ANOTHER TWO.
@aziouss2863 Joel said "I'll have 2 Factory Striders, and 2 MORE factory striders"
Had 3 on a kill mission including 2 at the same time
I just had 6 of them on a level 7.
hey youtube, this video was good.
You sir are a legend. Was having serious trouble with these guys until I watched this video. That undercarriage weakspot is killer.
That's a ton of science. Thanks for your work Ohdough.

Good work dough. Thanks for the info
First!
The AT-ATs are here! D:
havent been dropping on automatons lately, so when i actually saw 1, i was just blasting it with laser orbital, and autocannon those dim lights from the sides of its legs. Thanks for this info.
Super helpful - great content!
Subbed for the drawing, thank you.
awesome video. Thank you for doing this.
Appreciate your research Diver! You're the GOAT.
Great video! Thanks!
This was a massive video. Well edited, precise and super useful. Thanks a lot. On another note, stupid question that probably was answered before: But what kind of pen does the anti-materiel rifle have?
Can't wait to dive in to test the eruptor and further test the quasar cannon against the Factory strider.
This video is fantastic. You're tier list is for this hostile only and not a one size fits all BS list . You're not telling people what they should and should not use. You're just simply giving reported facts. The world needs more people willing to do this kind of work for all sorts of things. Thank you. Seriously thank you
Great video my dude!
A-Tier, Case-uh-dilla cannon. Lol! Thanks so much for this testing video. I was worried for a minute when I heard the auto-AT’s were coming and had no apparent weak spots.
Laser cannon is pretty much the most versatile stratagem for automatons at this point. It can literally take out any armored type of enemy quickly if you aim for weak points. If you have the pistol grenade, you can use stun grenades instead to make it easier to take out hulks.
Very good video. I still think these things are a little over tunned to be turning up 2-3 at a time but this will help deal with them faster without just giving up 4 stratagems as a team effort.
In case you aren't aware for future testing, EAT, RR and Quasar all do the same damage and have the same penetration, so you could just group them all together.
I just wanna say that was the best sponsor section I've ever seen from a youtuber and it wasn't even paid for.
Have my subscribe great video. When you mention sheild and cannon on mech I was sold. I like armor core but that would be so cool.
Something to note about the spear, it can engage from well outside of the striders effective range (as long as there's nothing obscuring visibility). Not the fastest kill but it can be extremely safe.
All in one part, cant imagine how long this took. very nice
Encountered them for the first time today and it was the battle to end all battles. I saw at least 5 in my last helldive and one of them was sitting on the extraction point.
Thanks, this was a really helpful and informative video. Definitely feels like they have less health values than before
e
Not sure if it had already taken damage, but when it was still a rare sighting I got a one-shot with a lucky perfect air strike. The Strider was perfectly aligned and positioned with the air strike and nearly every bomb hit (only ones that missed would have been because the strike length is longer than the Strider itself).
A good way to deal with these ATATs is disarming them first by removing the gun in the front and the top cannon, then it will only produce normal devastators which cost the overall spawning score and leads to less spawns for rocket and mg devastators, tanks or hulks, thus mobile factory itself also cost a lot.
Though this won`t affect portal groups which has already spawned. So fight wisely when an alarm fight is going.
BTW, the cannon can also destroy bot`s building in one shot.
Great job, thx man !
Hell yeah, Laser Cannon was already becoming my go-to against Automatons because of how fast it kills gunships and lets my ballistic-shield loadout handle rocket devastators and hulks. Just more reason to keep using it.
I remember the first time i saw a walker on the day they were added. Me and the 3 randoms i joined into had no idea how much it could take, and didnt want to take any risks. So we waited for our cooldowns, and threw 3 500kgs, 2 orbital rail cannons, 2 orbital lasers, and a precision strike cherry on top.
It was dead before the smoke cleared.
I had a lot of fun chucking Airstrikes at these guys yesterday. It feels like 6 or 7 direct hits to the back can kill it, but the Airstrike spread is too long for that many to hit home with one call-in. Still gets rid of the chaff around the titan, though, so it's all good either way.
fun fact: in Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2 for the ps2, the neck is the only area of an AT-AT that does extra damage when hit.
it makes sense that one weakpoint for the Stryder Factory is its neck, since they're so similar.
U got style. Love it
with the new eagle upgrade where it drops an additional bomb if you aim it properly you can kill em with one eagle strike, best strategem evur.
I may be the odd one here out of alot of ppl, but i love using the laser cannon alot for certains situation in a squad, definitely looking fwd to now knowing how to combat these things 🙏 😎🎮
Love how he has a million names for the quaso cannon
OhDough so happy the factory striders came back and he gets to release this video finally 😂
precision and eagle-strike remain one the most universally reliable strats i have used.
I'm curious about clusters tho, they don't take out buildings but they are still wide-area multi-explosives so can do horrible things to a remarkable number of enemy units and types.
@OhDough love the video man can’t wait to take on these new factories. Got a question for you do you plan to return to remnant 2 with the announcement of the new DLC? Loved your remnant 2 videos so was wondering if you’d jump back to it with the DLC and all. Thanks for the content as always
I can confirm you can kill one with Arc throwers, me and two other friends did it with 3 Arc thrower. But it still took way too long to ever be considered viable
For spear, you need long range side shot to hit weakspot. But it can disarm the strider easier than the others.
I'm killing it with HMG consistently now. When you're right in front of the thing, it completely stops and just stares at you. This is where you go prone and unload it right in the eye. Doing this at literally melee range is no big deal.
I use that same creatine. The micronized creatine is more expensive, but it absorbs way better. Always get gut issues if I use the larger powdered stuff. You can also buy liquid creatine if you want to spend the money and enjoy the flavour, or alternatively you can acquire creatine in capsules as pills when I'm not having a shake, but you're better off just chucking creatine in your shakes.
creatine in shakes is for sure the play for anyone that doesn't like the texture.
wondering why this face is familiar, haven't watched your videos since 2020 with dauntless, glad to see you're still making videos, especially with helldivers 2, really helped prepare me for my first encounter earlier on this date. also, for 500KG, if you can manage to get it to land on a leg, it will instantly kill it
After bringing up nearly every other support weapon, they really gotta take the disrespect off the railgun.
It one shots hulks with little effort. Rockets and Quasar do too, but travel time means it doesn't always land. Railgun being basically hitscan makes it simple.
Thought it would be outclassed by AMR after the damage buff, but it is so easy to use against devastators and hulks I think it is fine.
If you manage to get above it, by dropping onto it or with terrain, there are 2 EXTREMELY weak points on the top. They are alternately opening vent/hydralics that are damaged by basically any weapon including primaries. Me and another player managed to drop onto one the other day and the two of us dumping a couple mags each with the scythe into these vents killed it.
Thanks for this. I appreciate the effort you put in.
So sad that the Railgun is utterly useless now. I've been using the AMR instead.
really liking the name Automatitan (Automa-Titan?) for these things but I'll be sticking to AT-AT for now
love the info as per usual
Autocannon gang here 😎😎 happy to say yeah, this weapon still rocks n reigns supreme above a lot of other things in the game. So glad I got used to playing with it on bots n bugs, it’s so versatile
Awesome video
the grenade launcher has a minimum arm distance before they'll detonate, anything before that and it'll bounce off. So if you get the right spacing a single belt can wipe a strider out.
Wait so technically we can bounce it off the ground and into the belly?
With the railgun, treat it as if you're trying to kill a charger with maximum ammo efficiency (break leg armor and shoot the exposed tissue).
Shoot the sides and break the armor (it will expose its inside that is glowing red) and shoot it with your primary. It will take it down as fast as the dominator but without the need of getting really up close (since most of the times you wont be getting this much of controlled environment).
But yeah, I believe they need to tune up the railgun overcharge damage number or bring back the old penetration value of the safe mode but tune down its damage.
how many shots on the side?
@@OhDough it's pretty inconsistent but most of the time it took 3-5 shots for me. that 3 shots was an almost 99% overcharged (I pushed my luck there)
