Ideas:
1. Van organization (or reorganization) video
2. Day in the life right now. Feature yourself editing your weekly video, too. Review what it's like living in a sticks and bricks after being in the van so long.
3. Grocery shopping & errands since you won't be rushed with Joey in the van
4. Review your van essentials after 4 years on the road. Things like your shower setup, oven, bed, compost toilet.
5. Try new stuff for vanlife. Maybe an Omnia oven if you want to get fancy. An Aeropress coffee maker (you need one!) But mainly cheaper stuff from places like Walmart and outdoor stores.
May seem boring to you but it'll bring in newcomers and us longtime subscribers always enjoy this sort of content because it's stuff we also experience. Even though you've done most of these things before? It's nice to see updates.

Your world was flipped upside down, many of us can relate. It takes time to find the new normal, you'll get there. I know it wasn't the original plan, but I will really enjoy seeing the UP as I sweat my butt off in NY.
I am truly sorry for your loss. Grief is a process. No apologies are necessary. I understand your need to work and have an income. While you are at your Mom's a video of pet antics or a day in the life of 3 dogs and 1 cat. Shorter travel videos ideas you shared sound nice. My father died a week & a half ago. I know I am supposed to continue living and thriving and that's what I've done. I sang at his service but As you stated the world does not stop spinning. Also, the sun came up the next day and to be honest I felt a sense of relief and I did not feel a deep-seated loss because I have whatever bits of goodness from him with me at all times. I agree with you however, a little bit of rest, relaxation with those you love the most is always invigorating regardless of the situation. I'm glad to see that you are continuing to thrive, be well and take care of yourself. It's the circle of life. Lastly, I agree with your father don't sit around and mope, get on with your life etc. 😊

What I always remember about your van is your unique clothes hanger rod.
Great ideas for vids. Here's another: pretend that you rolled into town (where you are at your mom's) as if it weren't your mom's town, and do some of the things you'd do in any generic town you're traveling through; like where you'd park overnight, buy groceries, find a smoothie, do your laundry, find a place to shower, etc. For anonymity and privacy, just call it "Anytown, USA."
Video suggestions:
1) talk us through the process of planning a trip - how do you plan the route, temperature considerations, cost considerations, balancing comfortable/familiar places with new adventures, how far in advance do you plan
2) how do you find places to park overnight - what tools do you use, what's your process, what's your approach to safety and backup plans if things don't turn out as expected - choose a hypothetical/random location and share your screen as you use whatever tools you use, show what search parameters you use, tell us which location you would pick and why
3) all about having a dog on the road - how to deal with hot temperatures, what to do if your dog gets sick and soils the bed and you don't have access to a laundromat, how to find a vet or emergency care in a new town, how to make sure the dog gets enough exercise on days with long drives, the best parts of having a dog while living in a van, would you ever consider multiple dogs or a bigger dog
4) Favorite easy prep meals
5) Your top 10 dream destinations you hope to visit someday

I was in Michigan and the UP last year in June. If you haven't gone to Painted Rocks area in the UP it is beautiful. Take your time, everyone greves differently.

You are so creative, I would so watch you work on your designs, jewelry, sticker designs - anything, really. Could even be an asmr or music backed so you could stay in the flow and not have to talk.
Also videos about your top 10 to visit (repurpose that content, girl!) or top 10 not to do in van life (again with previous content) or any list type video where you can pull from past experiences and locations.

I've lost both parents in the last 8 years. Only advice I have is to do what feels healing for you 😊 Try to continue doing the things you love if at all possible. I didn't and I'm struggling to get back out there and live. ❤ to you and Joey.

We love Joey! You too! A video about caring for a dog in van life would be awesome. You talk about and with Joey a lot a d show him in videos, all awesome! You could tell us what he does when you can’t be with him. Shopping, showering, laundry, etc. can you leave the a/c on for him etc.
About 9 years ago I lost my Dad....it upended my life in so many ways. I did not have family around me, although we were often on the phone. I lost my phone 3 times in 6 months ....that's how discombobulated I was. I would just like to see what you're up to...what you're reading, watching, cooking, whatever you're doing on a small scale. I don't think we're expecting a lot other than to see what your journey is....because losing someone important to you is a Universal thing. I wouldn't worry about "exciting" content.
Hi Chantal - I hope you are doing okay - it’s so hard. I’m still grieving the loss of my Mom and Dad (both died at the tale end of 2021). Just thinking about videos - while you are touched down - maybe you could do a series of your van build - like deep clean, refresh the layout/build, maybe redecorate? I don’t know but those kinds of videos do so well - I know you’ve done them before but I think it’s fine to do updates like that. There are quite a few vanlife channels I watch and they often do those kinds. Just an idea. Hang in there. Sending love.

Honestly, whatever type of videos you feel like making during this time we would love. Daily vlogs, tea vlogs, just updates on your process. I'm a full-time vehicle dweller and I know that it's not daily adventure. In fact, for those of us who don't have a trust funds or come from generational wealth and live this way because we literally can't afford rent anywhere a lot of periods of time are just stationary in order to conserve money.
I enjoy your update videos as much as your travel videos. For me, it's fine to film places you've taken us to before. I'm following you because I find you interesting and like to know what's going on in your life. You're in my heart when you go through sad times. You are helping people see how it is to make your way forward while feeling your loss deeply. Great idea to go camping in nearby areas! I'd love to see some Illinois nature

It may also be helpful and healing to take walks and video the scenery while talking through your emotions. Sometimes just getting stuff out of your head is helpful. Take all the time you need to heal ❤🙏🏾
Maybe you could find a nice dog park and let Joey get to know some new friends. You could also take us to a new park or hike in your area. I LOVE Joey's haircut! And I really like the colors in your hair. Or, you can just hang out and not do much. Take your time with your feelings about your dad. This will be a long journey. You can tell us stories about him. I'd love to hear them. Are you keeping some of his ashes? You can have some put into a necklace or other piece of jewelry as a remembrance. Much love to you in this very sad time.

I'm so glad you're still posting, even if they're just updates on how you're doing (whether that's good or bad, but I'm grateful that you look a little more grounded in this video... the process of grieving is so challenging because you sometimes never know when it's going to hit you). We are all sending you good and healing thoughts.
As for videos, I love the UP (and it's near-complete lack of humidity!), so I am excited about what may come from those. I'm not sure if you've done a video yet on how you choose places? I remember one from a few years ago where you talked about BLM lands out in Arizona and how you choose those, but I guess I'm wondering how, when you go to somewhere new, you figure out where to go, where to stop along the way, where to camp, etc. Something that shows that process would be really interesting and useful to a bunch of us :D BUT, only if you're feeling up to it.
Take your time dear girl. Grief comes and goes. The waves are like a bad storm at first, but you’ll find your footing and find some new adventures and revisit familiar ones.

Grief is a process. An idea I had was doing gig work like door dash, remote work? Theres a ton of reasons someone may need to be stationary for awhile and exploring those options might be helpful. Have you thought about a coloring book?

When i lost my mom i was so angry and hurt. She was my everything. But one guy helped me so much by saying, stop trying to get over her because you never will, but concentrate on each day one day at a time. It just set with me and I got through each day on my terms and I grieved how I chose to grieve. So to you I say the same. One day at a time at your own pace. And I will be here regardless of how long it takes. There is no time limit on grief. My mom passed in 2007 and I still cry over her. Praying that God comforts you along the way.

If you are headed to Mn consider the most Northern spot in the Continental US - Northwest Angle . U will need to drive thru Canada to get to the NWAngle. Then head south to Itaska State Park hike across the rocks at the beginning of the Mississippi River. Split Rock Lighthouse state Park is beautiful.
