Growing up I remember going to our GMC dealer when my dad bought his 2001 Yukon xl Denali. He traded in his 2002 suburban and seeing how much he got it is crazy inflation is.
He still owns his 2001 Denali has original trans and engine. All stock no modifications and it has VHS and DVD player lol. Me and my older brother we used to plug our PS2 on road trips fun days. Hope one day if I ever have kids Yukon xl is going to be my choice. But right now I don’t need a big SUV truck or sedan is more than enough space

Great review! Just came back from Florida's 30A region and saw the Denali Ultimate with Southern state plates everywhere! Southerners definitely prefer it to the Escalade. Love that you are a fellow Chicagoan! Gave you a follow!

Good review. Do you know, comparing the comfort of the seats in the new Denali Ultimate versus a loaded regular Denali, are the seats equally comfortable to sit in, especially on long drives, or are perhaps the Ultimate seats more comfortable? I believe there is an upgraded leather in the Denali seats, but that may just be appearance, and I'm not sure if the padding or bolstering and overall comfort on long drives is any different. Maybe you know some or all of this? Thanks.
I love my Denali, dude it's SUPER spacious and feels safe to drive.

Vader chrome everywhere would set it off!!! I would even want it on the badging, trim, and wheels. Also wish that the seats were all brown rather than two tone.

I have owned Yukon or Tahoe's over that last thirty years, won't be another one. My 2015 & 2019 Yukon Denali's all had problem, either electrical or drive train vibration which GM did very little in support to fix the problem with the driving (2015 - 2019 had the vibration problem). Vehicles that cost upwards of $100k you should be able to get a quality vehicle and customer support...Vibration issues appear to have disappear after going to independent suspension...Still they are extremely over priced. Great family haulers!

not once did you mention the cargo capacity or show it with the third row seats DOWN so I could get an idea of how much space is available which is why I need suce a big SUV... I carry gear with me...

We took delivery on our Denali with the Duramax diesel. Absolutely love this rig and 26 mpg is off the chain…

If we ignore the hefty price tag i guess the only evident negative point is that gear shifter! i really don’t like button shifter specially in that weird place!
What are your thoughts on the speakers in the headrest? Wondering if they may be to loud, I do like to raise to volume at times but will those speakers make it to loud?
Pretty well balanced, never thought they were too loud. Just added to the immersive experience
fly Emirates 1st class speakers behind your head , great sound. BUT, ( sorry bad grammar starting sentence with but), but I guess you a yank and do not travel out of state.

It was pretty good, not AKG level. From what I understand the brand doesn’t matter a ton with in car audio systems,lots of it is just marketing.
The Bose system in my C8 is pretty good too.
Wish mine was available with super cruise 😢 bought one year too early.

I like this vehicle better than my 2018 Escalade, although a lot of features on this model came from my 2018 Escalade.
I was going to get this car but I'm sticking with my 1981 Ford festiva sport it's a pretty bitchin ride
Just get the Escalade or Navigator at that point and even those start around 80 grand so you can get an even higher trim

Funny how Denali brand was all about chrome, and now chrome is considered not high end enough. While I love chrome personally, I admit this thing looks bad a*** 😍❤️

On a supported road it’s hands free. Just have to pay attention.

What a great vehicle. One of best SUVs in the world only topped by Escalade. I actually prefer this more personally because a little more understated. Only thing I don’t like are buttons for changing transmission. You need to sell your pretentious Audi for this beast so it helps you in your every day life.

Nice vechile a ex car sales man told me that vehicle you have will depreciate like crazy after 5 years, better sell it or trade it when the time comes.
It already depreciate 25% in the first 2 year, 5 years on this it lose 50%.
Last brand new Suburban I bought stickered at $42,000 and I thought that was way too much for one. This is just crazy on what people are willing to spend. You could trade that for almost any house in this town. Once the covid money people got when they should not have dries up we will see how the market goes. If I paid this much for a new car you better bet anybody over 18 that rides in it needs to step out with a big smile on their face if you get what I mean

For anyone saying its a 100k vehicle yes thats true. However, no one says you have to pay that. You can certainly walk in with 80k cash or cashier's check etc and drive away with one. You got to negotiate and be ready to walk away. Dealerships are always trying to get rid of vehicles to make room for newer models. Also, having cash on hand is easier than filing paperwork for financing etc.
They need to offer the 2 row bench seat
With the Ecalade V engine the Denali will be amazing, but that takes away from the Escalades top of the line performance package. Not sure that would make it into a Denali thanks to GM red tape.

Your usage of one medium sized person with one small bag driving in heavily developed suburban areas in a 6000 lb truck represents the 95th percentile typical trip in this behemoth.
For the money, I would go for an Escalade. It’s the closest you can get to an Escalade. Why not get the Escalade for that price. Unless you’re a Denali fan. Nice truck tho.

Personally I’d do it for the touches that make this a proper luxury SUV!
As an owner of a Denali XL (little more cost involved being an XL), and having examined the Ultimate, a couple observations. First, ensure everything in the tech package can actually be delivered upon. There were a couple things that even on my trim level could not at the time, such as the screen rearview. Also, the speakers in the headrests are not a big deal, and although the leather color and trim is cool on the Ultimate, you may or may not care (both are still leather). It's not a huge financial swing at this level, but as you're building your options out hey, $10-$15k is still real money.
I hope it's the same price in middle east cuz we have really bad dealers
