get cozy friends ☕️ lets unravel and finish knitting a hibernated WIP together. I started my Arctic Light Sweater a year ago, across the world… it’s time to finish it before the end of 2024! let me know what you are working on - are you gift kntiting or finishing up 2024 WIPs?
I love how realistic your vlogs are, and I am so sorry for this yarn chicken game ! I can imagine how frustrating you would have been to discover you were short of a few yards, but the result is fantastic 😍 I was just like you and rushed into cables for my first and second sweater, but for the second I made a poor yarn choice and even though I love it, I think a 3 or 4 ply yarn would have been better than the single ply I chose. But when I wear it it reminds me of the progress I made 🥰 And also your husband's cardigan is going to be sooo stunning, it is so visible how you enjoy the process and I have no doubt the result will be great !
Hi Morgan! I have the same way of thinking 😂 I started knitting in September with your KAL the salty day sweater and I had an amazing time! Now i know a whole lot of techniques and feel i can navigate knitting ptretty well. My logistic is that if I start with something intricate then I can tackleother projects, without being intimidated 💗🧶🧶
I have been working on my first pair of knitted socks! I'm currently on the toe of my second pair (I'm using a customisable toe-up pattern with a rounded toe) and im so excited to be able to wear them over Christmas 😁
Looks fantastic! 😍 I have to say something briefly, I really like your videos and you are now one of my favorite podcasters. But now I admire you, I already knew that you have a good heart and are a loving person, but now I know that you are one of the few people who don't judge people based on appearance when I saw the cookbooks for your husband I was really happy(because of the hijabi on the cover) best regards❤❤
thank you for being here, I am so glad that meant so much to you. my husband loves to bake breads & cook many types of cuisines and makes a few turkish dishes - I knew he would love it & find it so inspiring 🥰
whew, mrs unraveled, it has been a LONG week. a good week, but a LONG one. i’ve been studying abroad for the past semester, and it’s over now! finals was a lot of stress haha. but for the past week, my family came over here to england to have a holiday before we go back home for christmas, me included. that included a WHIRLWIND trip to paris (my sister got engaged!!!), and now the rest of my family is doing a day out in london. i was exhausted, so i stayed behind, and i’ve just been doing some laundry, and working on the duplicate stitch letter on my weasley christmas sweater. i NEEDED this unraveling day!! ❤ we’ve got an 8.5 hour flight tomorrow, so wish me rest, haha
wow what a big special week! congrats on finishing your semester abroad & finals, and also congrats to your sister!! some very deserved unraveling time, proud of you for knowing your limits and wishing you all the rest. 💗
Wow your sweater is remarkable ! It’s nice to pick up old projects and notice how much we improved since the last time we worked on it ! I finished my fingering weight cable sweater for my partner earlier this week and I’m so relieved, he loves it very much and I can finally move on to a new project after three full months on this sweater. Currently starting the Copenhagen Cardigan from PetiteKnit and the Ollie hood by Atelier Emilie ( I missed the confort of stockinette ahah)
Loved this cosy vlog, knitted on my xmas socks while watching! Well done on finishing your Arctic light sweater, even if it's not 100% what you wanted, I'm sure you'll manage once home in the US to make it perfect for you ☺
thank you Mathilde!! I am in love with your xmas socks! they are perfection! also spoiler alert I blocked my Arctic Light and it fixed all the fit issues, but I definitely would still love to make the cuffs be the same number of rows! 🙈
Having to take a break from my current project (Anticline Mitts by Emily Greene) because of wrist pain. That twisted rib on fingering weight is ROUGH but it looks SO good. 🥲 I picked up a wrist brace for sleeping based on your suggestion! ♥ Also I want to share that my husband and I recently experienced the sudden loss of our beloved pup and your channel is really helping during a really hard time.
aw I’m so sorry to hear about your pet loss, that’s so tough!! we had to say goodbye to our doggo earlier this year too, it was so hard but had been a long journey of her health declining, I can’t imagine it being sudden. sending you all the love.😭🫶 and I’m also sorry to hear about your wrist. I know how badly the outlet of knitting is needed. I never wore my brace while sleeping, I felt it was better to let my wrist rest over night, but let me know if that helps you. I mostly wore mine when it was in really bad pain and needed stabilized but I also recommend doing a heating pad and gentle but frequent hand/wrist stretches 💖 I hope you can give it some rest then work your way back into knitting with some stockinette 🫶
Currently working on the double slippers from Sandes Garn. Almost done with gift knitting! I'm planning my first big knit of 2025 and I'm between Arctic Lights or the Belle & Sebastian from Sari Nordlund. I've done some cables before but it'll be the first time doing all over cabling. I typically read around 45 books a year but this year knitting hit me hard and I've read... 17 lol. I hadn't read much at all but lately I've been reading a chapter a day of Honey Witch by Sydney J. Shields. It's cozy and whimsical and perfect for my tired brain. ❤
I love both designs!! I think the Belle & sebastian has less cables to learn, but the Arctic Light has a tutorial so it may actually be easier! as for the reading, I relate. as I said 24 is kinda low for me too compared to how much I read before becoming a mom & picking up knitting. it fluxes and flows with our life. sometimes we have less time for it, sometimes we are more focused on knitting, projects, work, family, etc. numbers don’t mean as much as enjoying what you are reading and the time spent doing it. 💗
Arycrilic does nog grow very much. I kintted my salty days sweater in Arycrilic and made it slightly too small 😢!! However I blocked it to the maxed! And itvdi grow significantly. So I will block it and see if you can salvaged it So I would make it longer
I blocked it today, and the block totally saved it 😅 I am so relieved! I definitely had to pull the sleeves to length. I still would love to make the cuffs match in length when I can eventually but I can actually comfortably wear it.
Thanks for another great video!!! I love the design of that sweater so much and you really can’t beat that price! I wonder if you took the sleeves up to 3/4 til you get back in the states if you’d get more wear of out of until then
after the block today they rest on my wrist so I am much more comfortable with wearing it! but if they shrink back up (I think acrylic does that?) then I may try, a nice idea!
I finished up the ribbed hem of my Auguste sweater, about to start the sleeves! I was actually talking to a vendor at a craft fair last week and it turned out she was wearing an Arctic Light she had made, it was so beautiful but I thought so intimidating too - great to know there are such useful videos from the designer, but also dangerous because the temptation to make it someday is getting stronger 😅
Oh my goodness!! Last year I literally played yarn chicken ALL the time and lost most of the time. It’s so frustrating. I probably would unravel the the ribbing and use a different color. 🤷🏻♀️This year I made sure I always had an extra skein.
tbh I am happy with it as is after the block at least until we are back in the U.S! I play yarn chicken way too often as well - I simply underestimated here but my usual major issue is changing my project plan for a yarn from when I buy it to when I cast on, so I end up needing more than I bought it for!
My experience with knitting the ranunculus sweater with 100% acrylic is that it grew quite a lot after washing and drying about 5 times. Maybe it had something to do with using large needles with a worsted weight yarn. But maybe if you don't want it to stretch out a lot, then definitely lay it flat to dry. It was the first sweater I made and became unusable as it turned into a parachute. My mistake for not looking at the washing instructions on the yarn. Haha.
oh no I’m sorry to hear that happened to you! I am too afraid to machine wash or dry my handknits even if they are synthetic or superwash, I always lay flat to dry. very thankful I was able to stretch the sleeves out by doing that method as well.
Looking forward your book video. I set myself the goal to read more. I chose 24 books from my sub and wanted to buy new ones as less as possible. I really enjoyed it and will repeat for 2025 ❤
Sending my book rec of “A River in Time” a series by Lisa T. Bergen. I have seen NO ONE talk about that series and it blew my mind as a young adult 🥹 it’s like outlander but in Italy but with less smut 🌸
I made the Artic light this year actually! Sadly it's kinda tight on the underarms for me and washing it a few times surely hasn't made it better. This vlog is making me want to cast on a new one!🥲 Update: Okay, I just tried it on, because I am a bit sad about it being to small when seeing your gorgeous one, and it's def less worse than I made it in my head😂 Still wanna make a new one some day tho!
Fellow reader and knitter here (lifelong reader, newbie knitter) and my channel is all about books! I watched the BBC adaptation of Life after Life and it was brilliant, I'm yet to read the book though!
hi hi, based on you saying you enjoy the tropes of past lives and time, I think you might enjoy The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August by Claire North (if you've not read it yet) :)
ahhhh you’re so right, I should read it! I borrowed it from my library years ago and never got to it. sounds so up my alley. definitely gunna revisit it!🥰

You are definitely no longer a beginner knitter!! Well done! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 You’ve learned a ton of things!
hahah thank you!! 🥰 proud to be a certified intermediate now!! 😂
got a matcha latte and working on my moms christmas gift today! its the junction beanie by cosmaudi !!! super excited to get cozy with this video!!
thank you for getting cozy with me 🥰🥰☕️

omg I love that mindset!! when we are open to learning new things & watching all the tutorials, we can really do it all!! 🤍
Currently working on my second Musselburgh hat this one for my husband and is a gift knit! The first was for my baby and I love making these!
omg that’s so cute, I love that your little one and your husband will have matching beanies! 🥺🤍
@ me too it just makes my heart melt 🥹
i started last friday a book bag and i'm using a weight 6 yarn for it! the sweather is amazing btw
so fun, chunky projects work up so fast! happy knitting 💖
I have been working on my first pair of knitted socks! I'm currently on the toe of my second pair (I'm using a customisable toe-up pattern with a rounded toe) and im so excited to be able to wear them over Christmas 😁
wow that’s so fun, I love learning new techniques and constructions!
So proud of you for finishing ❤ great job it’s beautiful ❤
thank you so much Kaci 💖🥰

I’m also working on the arctic light sweater! Frantically trying to finish it so it can be my Christmas jumper 😂
aw so exciting, I hope you can finish in time 🥰❄️
Starting with a hard project sounds like my adhd why learn to oil paint and jump right into a realistic tomato painting 😂
I definitely get fixated and feel like I need to learn it all at once and become a Pro 😂
I'm currently working on the Tableland shawl/blanket by Janica York Carter as a baby blanket for my lil due in March. Hoping to finish it by Jan 1st!
that’s SO special 💛💛 congratulations!!

I'm working on the collar of my Amy pullover by petiteknit. It's in a lovely red wine colour and I hope to finish it before christmas :)
oh my gosh lovely, I have seen a few deep wine & burgundy knits lately - that color is just calling to meeee!
I finished up the ribbed hem of my Auguste sweater, about to start the sleeves!
I was actually talking to a vendor at a craft fair last week and it turned out she was wearing an Arctic Light she had made, it was so beautiful but I thought so intimidating too - great to know there are such useful videos from the designer, but also dangerous because the temptation to make it someday is getting stronger 😅
omg congrats - the twisted rib hem is a beast!! you’re almost done! and you can definitely manage the Arctic Light too whenever you get there 💗❄️
Oh my goodness!! Last year I literally played yarn chicken ALL the time and lost most of the time. It’s so frustrating. I probably would unravel the the ribbing and use a different color. 🤷🏻♀️This year I made sure I always had an extra skein.

I enjoyed watching this while drinking Burning Bush roasters coffee and finishing up my Sirdar CAL Christmas blanket
ahhh that sounds so cozy!! thank you for unraveling with me 🥰
Working on the Calliope sweater by Sari Nordlund, on the ribbing for the body and one sleeve to go after that 😊
that’s such a beautiful design - you’re almost there! 👏🏻

You're super to have achieved this much while being a mum too. ❤
Thank you so much! I’m learning to prioritize the things that bring me joy in this season of life so I can show up better for him as well 💖
Looking forward your book video. I set myself the goal to read more. I chose 24 books from my sub and wanted to buy new ones as less as possible. I really enjoyed it and will repeat for 2025 ❤
I love that you plan to read from your TBR! I hope it brings you so much joy to pick up books you’ve been meaning to get to :)
Sending my book rec of “A River in Time” a series by Lisa T. Bergen. I have seen NO ONE talk about that series and it blew my mind as a young adult 🥹 it’s like outlander but in Italy but with less smut 🌸
I read it like a decade ago and after a Quick Look on Goodreads, just check triggers for violence and battles
I will have to check it out 😍 love a time travel romance!
I'm finishing my mother's christmas sweater! While ignoring the fact that we are currently experiencing a heatwave in South Africa😂
literally same!! we’ve had extreme heat warnings all week. 🥵 meanwhile I’ve got the AC on and knitting 😂
I made the Artic light this year actually! Sadly it's kinda tight on the underarms for me and washing it a few times surely hasn't made it better. This vlog is making me want to cast on a new one!🥲

I totally have experienced that with being disappointed with a finished project and making it worse in my head! I am so glad yours is still wearable 💗
Fellow reader and knitter here (lifelong reader, newbie knitter) and my channel is all about books! I watched the BBC adaptation of Life after Life and it was brilliant, I'm yet to read the book though!
