omg, yes to your talk about healing our inner child wounds in our own motherhood experiences. I agree so hard. The whole suck it up and smile thing really hit home, lol. Also, I can relate to always needing to have nap/sleep schedules dictate everything. It's bittersweet that my kids no longer nap (3 and 6), but it's really pretty freeing to lose that time restraint and have them be old enough to be more flexible with bedtimes sometimes. Loving your Salty Days so far!
thank you so much for validating those feelings!! it’s so tough to balance it all and do better for our little ones when we are healing ourself but it’s so worth it ☀️
Hi Morgan, I love that you talk about anxiety and how you deal with it in your videos. My daughter is 9 now so we’re no longer planning our life around nap times but as a mother I still struggle with the inability maintain control over my days as much as I would like. I find that I cling to my pockets of time to knit and read as a means of self care in the midst of chaos. Cozy hobbies truly are a lifesaver! Happy belated birthday!!
thank you so much for validating this feeling! I totally resonate. you’re so right, I think the nap schedule is what I cling to as something I can regulate & control to a degree to make sure the way goes as smoothly as possible. it’s completely in the way things go when we leave the house and not being in control of if it will be fun, relaxing, or just stressful for all of us. thank you for sharing your experience and making me feel so seen! 💗
Thank you for mentioning the charted sleeves modification on the salty days, I missed when they were first mentioned. I went back in the chat and found them.
we moved to a beach town a year ago when my youngest was 1 1/2, she hated the sand and wouldn't be put down. it definitely changed our plans to spend weekends on the beach and felt disappointing. this year we tried again and it was a little bit better but she has a limit. we're taking it a little at a time and seeing how it goes. she loves the water and the idea of the beach but in practice is definitely different. you're doing great giving him space!
thank you so much for validating our experience! 🥲💗 whats soo crazy is we had the opposite, when he was about 18 months back in the states he enjoyed the beach so much. we lived near Virginia Beach and he’d run along the shore with us as long as the water didn’t touch him. now he’s almost 2.5 and has watched movies like Nemo and is scared of sharks so he just wants to go home 😭 hopefully we can talk to him between now and the next beach trip and help him feel less afraid 💛
I have picked up and knit on the sleeve of the Salty Days sweater while watching your vlog 😊 Sometimes our plans change when we have small children just remember that this won’t last for long and enjoy the time ❤
@@morganunraveled no I did not but I will be trying it on after each decrease and if it get too tight I will knit it straight with out further decreases.
yo dude happy late birthday!!! the air bnb and ocean views look so nice omggg- stunning. as a chronically anxious person myself i have a lot of the same struggles with vacations, but sometimes the anxiety can only be overcome by just letting go. i just finished my salty days, and wore it for a friends birthday at a ski resort- super happy with how it turned out. :))
thank you!! i totally agree. it takes reaffirming & reassuring myself lots, and make sure i have all my little accommodations to feel safe & have my resources, but so worth it to try to let go and just go with the flow!! im so glad you love your finished salty days, congrats on finishing it!!
You are such a wonderful mum and should be very proud of how you're teaching Arthur to feel his big feelings. I'm glad you all enjoyed your little getaway and sometimes a change in scenery is just as good. I'm knitting on a new beanie, I'm working the North Shore beanie pattern by Knit Ewe Up in some purple stash yarn 🥰.
thank you so much 😭💗 the change of scenery was very helpful to break up the monotony and just have some time together in a beautiful space. that project t sounds gorgeous 😍
Great job, mom and dad, for helping your little guy have a great vacation. Happy Birthday! Your knits look great. Have you thought about frogging your cumulus and making a smaller size? I love your chocolate colored squishy yarn for your new cabled cardigan, and your bookclub cardigan looks great! I'm planning to cast on the Elara cardigan by emknits myself with some vacation yarn I picked up in August.❤🧶
thank you so much!! frogging & re-knitting is definitely an option, if I did I think I’d do the o-neck version. I think I’ll keep it the way it is while it’s spring here and see if it gets lots of wear then maybe reknit it over next fall/winter if I don’t enjoy wearing it the way it is.
Another gorgeous vlog Morgan! It’s my birthday too and I asked for and received the yarn for my Auguste sweater, I’m inspired to try cables for the first time because of watching your channel! Happy belated birthday to you! ❤❤
@@morganunraveledI’m from the U.K. so I’m doing Drops merino extra fine, copying you completely by doing a chocolate brown! 🤣 🤎 can you please explain which size you picked based on your bust measurement? I find the pattern kinda confusing if the size options include the positive ease or not…?
Currently knitting a cozy for my new kindle oasis! Thanks for making this cozy vlog - I used to live in Australia and this video gives me all the good nostalgic vibes
oh that’s so cool, I really want to make one too 🥰 a friend of mine made me one that fits physical books and I want to make one similar that fits the kindle 🤎
Hello lovely Morgan, I’m working on my salty days as I’m watching your vlog 🌺. My kids are 13 and 19 but I used to plan around sleep schedules. Wasn’t easy with 2nd baby as first was at school, but just tried to control what was controllable. We’ve just returned from 2 weeks in Tasmania and oh boy it’s so beautiful 🧶🍄
@@morganunraveled also I may have made a cheeky spotlight purchase today for some organic cotton 🤗 - it was on special so how could I not. Will start it once I finish my salty days x
I really love them! it depends on the knitter, your preferences, and what type of knitting you do. I love that the smallest in this set starts from 3.25mm because most sets I looked at started at 3.5mm. I really love them for anything stockinette or any project where I want to have some glide! but they are not very sharp so knitting lace would be tricky.
@@morganunraveled I’ve started knitting shawls that require a bit of a bigger needle and I want to start garments. I typically do fingering weight socks and I use my chaiogoo red lace for that and love them. But the copper ones are just so pretty 😂.

Don't forget to Slip Slop and Slap when your out in the Aussie sun. Slip on a shirt, slop on some sunscreen ans slap on a hat. 😁 Sun burn is not fun 🥵
