JAYKEEOUT x VWVB Hey JAYKEE ! :-D How have you been? I just want to ask you if you could visit some fans in Munich! You would have to drive with the train but please I would like to meet you! :D I’m a big fan

JAYKEEOUT x VWVB noooo i was there a day before😖😖😖😖😖😖😖
@@da-zp5xe no they aren't, people in the west are far more unfriendly especially to east german people
That guy speaking german and you speaking korean just proved that there are literally no language barriers if u really need someone

Sometimes it's better to not understand eachother.
Arya why?

I'm sorry but it was so funny when the guy was talking in German and you were answering in Korean the whole time 😂 it was super cute
I would have escorted you personally wherever you would have wanted to go 😂😂❤️
Ja ich musste auch so lachen haha
Me too😂❤️ The problem is...older people/generations can't speak English...at least not properly, and they feel overwhelmed in such situations🤷♀️ So they just say "No" and leave😂😅 And of course...some aren't kind enough or don't even bother🙃
hahaha had to smile myself as well. I also like to escort people to make sure they arrive safely after i told them where to go xD
Sarah Black der Typ war ein deutsch Türke 😂😂
But he tried.
You should have asked some younger Germans. Their english skills are way better 😄
Yes
Yeeess and then the older people say that the youth is stupid and doesn't learn something...
Truth has been spoken
The older generation mostly scks at English.
Truth
I was about to comment this. It’s so true, omg.
The thing with Germans is... if you ask them for directions and the don't know, they will tell you. They would be like "no idea" and leave. As a German staying in Korea, I have very different experiences in Seoul. When I ask people for directions, even if they don't know, they will look it up and help me. Some even walk me to the destination because they are worried I would get lost. Sorry but Korea wins this game
I know many germans who would look it up and I experienced it myself too. But I think either that more Koreans would do it
The thing is, when you visit Berlin [it‘s the capital and also a tourist city], it‘s hard to find people you actually live there and who could be able to tell you the direction or a place you would like to visit. Me, as a foreign German [let me put it like that haha], I can tell you that not everyone is harsh or unfriendly. They mostly don’t know :c
I can relate to the tourist in Korea thing. A whole group of jogging "ahjummas" pulled out their phones to help a friend and I. They almost got on the bus with us lmao
Luzys Im American and when we were visiting Venice we ask an Asian, not Korean, man where a place was he took us there. I'm grateful when a helps me but taking us there is on another level😊.
yoongasmen Seoul is a tourist city too if not the number one place ppl visit in Korea.
1:42 they can understand each other even though they don’t speak the same languge lol
lmao it was so bizarre seeing them talk in Korean and German and just simply didn't think of speaking in English lmao
That's so cool xD
It shows that language isn't a barrier if you really try

My American friend once said: "It's not easy to quickly make friends in Germany but when you got one it's the best friend you could possibly have."
this friend of yours should get a Nobel prise , he made me want to be friends with a german
Yeah, we suck at making friends, and we only consider people friends that would be considered best friends in most countries. If differs depending on which area you live/stay in, though.
Naw that's so cute
@@oussamaessadaoui I won't lie. I'm always there for my friends and I often say: "Erst Freunde, dann ich" which means "Friends first, and then me"

Elina Khazaei ‘asianarin’ bitte was
When I was in Germany, everyone was really helpful, but it was confusing because they often replied to me in German when I spoke English... and I can't speak German at all.😂
I think that's just out of nervousness when people don't often use English in their day-to-day lives, and because older generations' listening comprehension of English tends to be better than their actual speaking skills. In general, if you're a tourist I'd recommend asking younger people for directions cuz their English skills will likely be better.
when i was in berlin i experienced that too. i had quite a few interesting conversations with my broken german and their broken english :Dd
Well i live in germany but i'm asian and people talk to me in english all the time lmao i always get confused because i dont know if they cant speak german or assume i am a tourist
When I was helping someone idk why but I started speaking german because I was so nervous
Try to ask younger people ^-^
I can assure you that most teens speak better English than many adults ^-^
I agree. Being German myself, I don't see a difference between nice in the east and nice in the west of Germany either. But in big cities like Berlin people sometimes avoid talking to strangers in case they might try to ask for money... xD

The Berlin Mall is kind of a bad setting for this test, there's lots of hotels in walking range (i was there as a German tourist myself in December) so many people you'd meet are either busy shopping and/or not even from Berlin ^^ This is still a fun video!
we noticed that too :D haha
I was there last week and I kid you not: I was unable to find any locals there to ask for directions as a German myself (from NRW). It was not the best place for this purpose indeed, but how should he know, I guess? 😅
Oh nice me too :D And true, he had no way to know. It's a nice mall though so it was a good choice in that sense haha
Indeed, it would be best not to do it in the city center in general. Most people who are native to Berlin only go to the center for work or shopping which means they are mostly busy around there.

In Germany
Last week a woman spoke to me in english and asked if the incoming train would stop at a certain station. It was monday morning, a stranger was talking to me and they were talking in a foreign language. My English skills are pretty solid, but I always get so nervous and caught off guard when I have to use them. So I answered with "yes, it goes there" and never felt more german 😂
KDJDNDJDBDHHX literally me.

4:36 Damn, he seemed so savage at first and then he ended up spending so much time recommending all of the things, how nice.
1:08 It's kind of cute how you answer him in Korean but he seems completely unfazed and just keeps speaking German.
I was just visiting Berlin a few days ago (for BTS 😁) and I was around the Potsdamer Platz area to see an exhibition on Lee Bul. It would have been funny if we'd run into each other ... but I would have been unable to give you (or anyone for that matter) directions to anywhere, so I guess it doesn't matter. XD
those two people stood out to me as well. super heartwarming haha
He was there when KBS Music Bank was in Berlin, so a few weeks ago

That's nice, danke
If you were a refugee that would be another story
Ich habe nach Berlin gereist vor einem Monat und Sie waren sehr nett. Ich möchte wieder eine Reise machen in Deutschland. Vielen Dank🙂
김ᄃᄋ hopefully it was a nice vacation for you! :)
Well, I hope you had lots of nice experiences and am glad to hear (read, whatever) you'd like to come again.
Also, your German is pretty good, I think (many Germans seem to not know a lot about their language, at least not as long as they're online. It's honestly sad sometimes). If I'm allowed to correct your few mistakes: You'd say "Ich bin gereist" instead of "Ich habe gereist". Don't worry, our language can be pretty confusing sometimes and especially past seems to be, not only for foreigners, a difficult topic to master. Also, it'd be "Ich bin nach Berlin vor einem Monat gereist" (you also might say "Ich bin vor einem Monat nach Berlin gereist", that's at least the way I'd choose but they are both right) because the participle (gereist) has to be the last in the sentence (I include only "Ich bin nach Berlin gereist vor einem Monat" as the sentence since the added "und Sie waren sehr nett" is kind of an additional sentence (I don't know how to formulate it in English, I'm very sorry, I hope you're even understanding what I'm trying to explain even though I lack some vocabulary plus I am sure you'll find grammar mistakes)). If the verb is built (I don't think that's the right word but I hope you understand what I'm trying to express though) by two words, the second one is the last word in the sentence. "und Sie waren sehr nett" has to be "und sie waren sehr nett". "Sie" would be "you" as plural while "sie" is translated as "they" which I guess is what you meant. "Ich möchte wieder eine Reise machen in Deutschland" ist the same again with the verb with two words. You might say "nach Deutschland" instead of "in Deutschland" since that would more express you are already in Germany and travelling in there while "nach Deutschland" would be more you aren't in Germany but travel there. I would travel "in Deutschland" because I live here while you more likely would travel "nach Deutschland" (I assume you aren't living in Germany).
I hope this was helpful in any way and didn't come off as rude. Also, if I myself made mistakes, I'd really be thankful if you corrected me. Your German is already pretty good and I hope if you come again to visit Germany, you'll come back with good stories and nice memories in your backpack. Have a great day.
Ohh very good german ☺
@@saphirfelup874 wohhh i love how you explained everything so nice and precisely, your English is so good btw!! For how many years have you been studying it?

I am a german but even tho there are some stereotype‘s it’s difficult for a worker to help like 20 min for a tourist. I almost help everyone who asks me for directions but like the last time as a saleswoman I had five chinese people who couldn’t understand german or basic english. They wanted to have a tax refund and to solve their problem i helped them one hour and could communicate through google translater from german to easy chinese. Even my boss was suprised to see me use this method (old generation don’t understand the internet and pc in general) and my other co-worker had always a hard time to explain those things in english. But the chinese tourists were really happy at the end of the day 👍🏼 greetings from west Germany

Berlin natives usually don't go to the city center without a reason, which would be work or shopping. Rents are crazy in the center so mostly wealthy people from all over the world live in the city center.

Hello I am from Stuttgart, germany and wanted to say that I really like this video! Tumbs up :)
I really liked this experiment since it showed both sides of interaction. There are some german people that are rude but a lot of people are nice and open minded as well. There are always stereotypes but no one's the same and german people differ a lot as well. Our culture is very different from e.g. koreans culture and we have a different standard of "friendliness" or "politeness". I still hope that people don't judge someone based off their nationality but off how they react and interact. There are friendly and rude people everywhere though I hope you mostly meet the nice ones :)
I think that some people are shy when they don't understand what the other one wants or if they don't understand the language and that causes a "I want to run away" reaction which might seem impolite. At least from my experiences. I'm very shy myself so I would be really nervous and at the same time I would be scared not being able to help ... ^^;
but at least I would not just walk off and pretend I did not notice the person asking me :)
"i want to run away" is me when any person i don't know tries to approach me :'D
i usually try to help if i can (which likely isn't the case anyways so i'd have to apologize saying idk either and then probably try to leave...) but i'd feel completely uncomfortable
Awww this was so adorable! :D I hope People ignore the comments where people say that germans are unfriendly. They are one of the friendliest people in the world!!!
