I had so much fun with you. Another wonderful memory in Korea~

Bro! I just found out u’re Chanel 2 -3 days ago , & I was binge watching u’re videos since then !! So hilarious !! Good luck!
When I saw your previous vid about going to Korea and you said that if you would like to meet and hang out or make vids together I was like "IM GONNA FREAK OUT YOU'LL COLLAB WITH JAY," then TADAAA!!!!
Buys a $4 blackpink mask in Korea but pays $40. Feels very ripped off... Trys to buy a blackpink mask in America, acctually cost $40.
So true! 😒 Kpop merch is hella expensive in the USA!
I wanted all four sets of BTS' Persona..but shipping fees boosted it from $52.10 USD to 83! Hell no. Korea, you got me fucked up. Koreans have it so much easier when it comes to buying merchandise. :(
mimi I guess it depends where you live, we have kpop masks for 2-5$ in Serbia. We don't have a kpop album shop tho so that sucks lol
mimi
go to target. They have bts albums.
@@vianeyarreola1421 I know this comment wasn't focused at me butttttt...... THEY HAVE BTS ALBUMS AT TARGET?!?!?!? welp. I know what im actually asking for as a birthday present now. Forget the hair dye my hair is fried enough it'll probably just fall off. Maybe i can convince my parents for Starbucks, Subway, and BTS albums.... Seems a little far fetched but i think its possible.
I spent 3 months in Korea last year and did a lot of shopping. I never found any vendor who was dishonest. They were extremely helpful the the western traveller and very friendly.
I am glad to hear that. I hoped you had a good time. I wanna go to Korea when i get the chance 💜

This is a great topic since a lot of tourists visit Korea. 👌🏻
P.S.
I, too, was shocked with the first few seconds! 😳
If you want to visit Korea, please don't go to Myeong-dong. It's too expensive. Rather, Koreans don't go to Myeongdong. Besides Myeongdong, there are many good tourist attractions in Seoul. Garosu-gil, Hongdae, Itaewon, Gangnam Station, Namsan Tower, Mural Village, Insadong, etc. The merchants of Myeong-dong should be ruined. And there are a lot of foreigners coming, but especially there are too many Chinese. Myeong-dong itself is centered on Chinese people. There are many other good tourist cities in Korea, too. Busan, Gwangju, Kangneung, Jeonju, Jinhaegu, Gyeongju, Yongin, Jeju Island, etc. Never go to Myeongdong.
Most of the time in big but advanced cities where shops are checked for what they sell is the greatest place to go basically anywhere even your own country for example I'd rather walk into a closed of store then something on the street bc even as a korean people can be very scamming to younger people who stil figuring out what's worth the money the only way things are expensive is when the city is big but known for the tourism... it attracts scammers also stands near cities with airports and all da I wouldn't say yes so fast
@@skyshin39 thank you for the info! I'll keep these in mind when I visit Korea :)
@@nem3sis.yt_ this is very true. It applies to all tourist spots and kind of inevitable - almost everything inside a tourist spot is actually expensive so it's also up to tourists on how they do their budget. 😅

Travelled in Korea twice, and I can say that the vendors there are pretty much honest. Never experience anything bad when I buy things or food :) just a tip for any future travelers in Korea, try to avoid buying accessories (masks, hats, earings, etc) in Myeondong, coz it’s cheaper in other places. 😄😄😄
Where can we find accessories for a cheaper price in Seoul?
Weam Ibrahim try in hongdae! Some accessories are like 50% cheaper than myeondong. Like the earings I bought in Myeongdong cost like 7 dollars but in hongdae they only cost like 3-4 dollars
Come to malls where locals go, like Ipark mall, starfield or IFC mall. No locals buy things in myoungdong.

Lil Meow Meow Aka Agust D Idk, maybe he actually wasn’t paying attention who knows lol
He was definitively trying to rip them off. He looked at the money at 6:18 . He probably returned it since he didn't want to face confrontation and had a guilty conscience.
There’s also a slight possibility that he was turning back around I grab them change since he might not have it on him but if he was the only one there he wouldn’t leave his money unattended I guess...anywho, lesson is just to check before you pay
@@lynnchloe123456789 I don't think so...he was essentially given 4 $10 bills and the mask only cost $4, so he could've returned 3 of the $10 back and then gone to get the $6 of change. Either way, this video shows everyone that they need to be careful, knowledgeable, and attentive whenever you travel!
Bills are color coded, and when running a business you always, always look at the bills. So yeah, that was definitely intentional.
The last guy was definitely honest. I think he just didn't see the money and also he wait for you guys to come back so that he can return your money and the fact that he recognizes you even before you ask him a question means he doesn't have any intention to took your money. 👍🏻

There is no excuse for the last guy! He looked straight at the money ( 6:18 ). He had enough time to say "bye bye" and you guys walked away super slowly, so he could've easily stopped you guys. I can't believe the "he was going to get change" since you gave him 4 $10 bills, he could've returned 3 of the $10 bills and gone back to get the extra $6 for change. He probably only returned the change since he had a guilty conscience and didn't want to face confrontation from three people: your "korean friend" and you guys. I know you guys want to think the best scenario, but that guy was clearly trying to rip you guys off. There's people like that everywhere, so for those who are traveling: make sure to be well-informed and attentive. Also, don't trust any stranger. We weren't taught "stranger danger" as kids for nothing.

THIS IS SO IMPORTANT. I GOT RIPPED OFF IN CHINA. Despite me being Chinese and speaking perfect Chinese (without accent), I cant read in Chinese (I was born in America and spoke at home). So I go to this nail salon and I couldn’t read the sign with the prices, the girl ended up charging me over 700¥ for the ugliest nails and I didn’t say anything because I was so shy. I literally JUST asked her to paint my nails white too and then she started talking about how these “glass piece adornments” would look so nice and started just putting them on my nails and charged for each piece. Literally can’t going anywhere nowadays without getting ripped off by non honest people. Despite me being Chinese, I really have to say that I hate going to China.
Well, i would say its completely your own fault, first of all u didnt do ur homework, every RRP in china is at least 2-3 times over, in some markets, u need to take off a zero on the tag then half of its price. 2ndly, you didnt ask for the price or negotiate with the price, so they assume u agreed to pay the RRP, u cant READ the lauguage but u can SPEAK the language. Lastly, there r super fancy shops in china just to serve the wealthy people, for example, a hair cut in cheap barber shop would be ¥50 rmb, average price is around 200 but it could cost around 2000-5000 in those fancy shops.

In Philippines at the benguet😂
1 dollar per strawberry what a fking rip off so small strawberry sell so expensive
In fact korean strawberry isn't expensive. BUT that video is so expensive !! I'm so surprise that too
waaa i was just thinking that it would be nice for alex to collab w jaykeeout !!
Haven't watched Shaun yet, but I love Alex. Love this collab. Hopefully you'll have more. :)
When we were in Seoul last year my mum’s backpack zipper was open - we didn’t know until a korean man stopped us and told us. Also whenever we ate Streetfood (Also in Myeong-dong) nobody tried to ripp us off and always gave us the exact change. Koreans are very very honest. That’s what I like them so much.
In really sorry but the couple socks part was hilarious! When he said "let's wear these the next time we meet" and the other one said "uhhhhhh... Okay?" that was sooo cute XDXDXD
"Maybe he's a foreigner" lmaooo problem solved 😂👌
It is so accurate. I've been to many foreign countries but felt the most respect by vendors in Korea
I’m a foreigner living in Korea (been her a year so far) and I’ve never met anyone dishonest. I was super confused when I first got here and the local people have always been friendly and helpful. I even had a man offer to pay for my gas because I didn’t have a Korean card. He took won though so it worked out.
Them strawberries are expensive! I enjoyed this collab with Alex. Great vid!
The girl at 2:40 that passes through looks so happy to be there lol.
1원 for a strawberry? A SINGLE strawberry? Nah fam I’ll pass on that 🙅🏻♀️
4:43 awww that melted my heart he even gave the camera man?!? Omfl koreans are so kind, if he was an american we wouldnt of even looked at the camera man lol 😂
The collaboration I never thought I needed in my life! Awkward levels are almost similar!
I lived in Korea for a year and sometimes it gets soooo confusing with all the 0000'a on the bills that it actually happened to me that I handed too much money but they were always so honest and corrected me directly!
is this NOT the best collaboration??
These two are such cuties.
Alex: I’m just here to eat.
I feel that 😂
Omg I'm shook you guys know each other! I watch both of your channels!!!
Omg I can’t believe I just noticed he’s the guy from awkward since birth 😍😍👏👏 my two favorite Korean youtubers collabed together!
3:28 “that looks like you eh” skksjsk your Canadian came out

Try these experiment in India you will end up losing even the camera.

I plan to visit within the next year. This is one of the many things I admire about Koreans and the culture.
This was such a experiment to watch! Korean people are very kind :)) But some people are not quite as honest.. My friend and her mom (they are foreigners in Korea) went to Korea once and instead of a 5,000 won bill, my friend's mom gave the cashier a 50,000 won bill. She then noticed her error and was like "Oh that was a 50,000 won bill" but the cashier also knew and like hid the money in her hand by like crumpling it up and saying "No". :(
상인분들 다 영어 잘하시넹
그 근처에 외국인들이 많이 사는 것 때문에 깨우친 생존 영어인거 같네요 ㅎㅎ
Alex, you didn't tell your subscribers that you were going to have a date on this channel too... :D
3 solid youtubers :O. Awkward since birth and Shaundaun TV.
Ps: I think shaun should teach alex how to pick up 😅
this actually gave me a better understanding of korean money, so thanks!
I wasn't surprised with this video. On our visit to Myeong-dong from Texas, in January (2019), we had a wonderful experience with the honest street food & clothing vendors. Clap, clap, clap - good vlog!
