    The difference in the electrical tape is thickness and outer coating and sticky materials. Little different heat rating and ones better for external use. So 88 is supposed to be better for cars. That’s all I know

    Omg, just finished removing the factory rear bumper jeep uses, and I think it weighed about 3 pounds. I have ice chest that are more suited for the job lol. Now to the good as it gets ironman bumper. It is solid as a rock with some weight to it but manageable for solo install. I used a different spacer combo between the bumper and recovery points to center them in the slots as they pass through in the bumper so use what works to your liking. In doing so I ended up using 2 of the longer factory bolts on passenger side going through the recovery points into the side of the frame. Just a little insight from my experience. Install was quick and straightforward thanks to the great videos they have, and like I said in my comment of the front bumper under that video. If your considering this ironman bumper or bumpers you will love them and you can't go wrong. Thanks to everyone at ironman for all you do.

    Nice video very informative. Any video how to wire those bumper lights?

      Lighting can be wired up in several different ways depending on personal preference. For example you could use factory switches, a standalone harness and switch, or into something like an SPOD.

    40:00 During install my oem reverse sensors got mixed up with how they were mounted in the factory bar. Anyway to find out how they were mounted? I have access to a JT for reference if they were the same.

    From what I've seen, the 'kit' is 152 lbs (including tow hitch receiver and tire relocation). What do you reckon the bumper, alone, weighs? Two additional questions: 1) will a 35" tire mounted to the Mopar tire relocation kit clear the bumper? and 2) is the bumper compatible with the factory-installed hitch receiver? That being said, is the bumper available standalone (i.e. no relocation kit and no hitch)?

      Their site says "Rear Bumper Approximate Weight: 52lbs". Yes a 35 will fit on the Mopar bracket. And yes he removed a stock hitch here that is identical to what they sell.

    Just out of interest, how much weight do you think this added? The bar looks well designed which makes me think it’s done well to be strong but also not over weight.

    • @Ironman4x4America
      @Ironman4x4America  2 роки тому

      The rear bumper weighs in at about 152lbs. You remove about 46lbs so your net gain is roughly 106lbs.

    Hi . Would you recommend the reinforcement plate with a 33 inch tyre with a steel rim. it’s heavier then the stock 32 inch on alloys. cheers Phil

      We recommend using the reinforcement plate for larger than stock wheel and tires combos.

    Hello! What is the thickness of steel used on these? It appears a bit thin in the video and I’m concerned it’s not going to hold up under heavy rock bashing. Thanks

      @Ironman4x4America  2 роки тому

      We use several different thicknesses depending on what structural part of the bumper you are looking at. This ranges from 1/4" to 1/8" and everything in between. Steel gauge combined with good structural engineering and gusseting will provide a very stout bumper but keep the weight down. We don't want to build a 200lb+ boat anchor for the front of your rig.

    What does the bumper weight alone? Not the receiver and tire relocation.
