Great video! Just what I was looking for. Convinced me that 33” tires will be fine for national forests & state forests and dispersed camping with no rock crawling. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing your experience. I too have this trail on my list but still on stock wheels and tires so this helps understand what is needed to go the first 5 miles (same Jeep down to the color as yours). Rear diff protection, 35" tires min, and some under armor may be on the shopping list (I installed the Mopar lift right after purchasing). My main place here in Texas is Hidden Falls so I am getting some rock wheeling experience there for sure.
That’s exactly what I’m thinking about doing for the next time I go!
All he ended up with were scrapes. There's a big cost to all that extra stuff in terms of up front cost, gas mileage, wear and tear on the drive train and suspension, loss of acceleration, reduced low gearing, reduced braking etc. If you don't plan to run those kind of trails frequently then it may not be worth it.... The best option is usually the least modifications for what you intend to drive most of the time.ua-cam.com/video/PVLMewr6Dvw/v-deo.html
This is honestly impressive you have earned yourself a new subscriber
Thank you! Greatly appreciated
@@520overland I wish I could drive the Rubicon Trail but I live in Tennessee😢
Hopefully you get the opportunity one day. It’s incredible out there. Though you have some pretty cool areas in Tennessee as well like the Smokey Mountains and Windrock!
excellent job 👏 👍🏽
Thank you! 👍
I think you convinced me that my rig is ready - that I don’t need 37s to run Rubicon trail. Current setup: JLUR Mopar 2in lift kit with 35s KO2. And a winch. Thank you!!
You will definitely make it! It helps to have a spotter and to take your time over obstacles!
It’s good to know that you can do it… all be it difficult, with a stock rig …. Way to go Jeep
Great video. Thanks for sharing with us! I'd like to know if there was any damage at all.
Mostly a bunch of scrapes but the Jeep took it all great and I was able to drive it 800 miles back home without any issues. Me steps seemed to have taken the bulk of the damage. I’ll have a video up in the coming weeks showing the damage
Hey great video! I wanted to watch this because I wanted to see how I stock Rubicon does on the Rubicon Trail I have a stock 2 door 2023 JL Rubicon I was able to complete Steelbender flat pass, except for that 6ft ledge but was able to complete Fins & Things Hell's Revenge Poison Spyder loop Metal Masher and Top of the World I dragged the underside of my Jeep got quite a bit of Trail rash on all my skids I have an aftermarket oil pan skid and front and rear differentials skids I am planning on doing the Mopar 2-inch lift and 35 in tires I would like to do the Rubicon Trail in a group
You’ll be just fine with that set up! I highly recommend centered a few times but i think if I wasn’t fully loaded with gear and had a 2 in lift I would’ve had an easier time! Let me know how it goes out on the Rubicon! Thanks for watching!
nice
Did you use a trail map app, and if so which one?
I used OnX! It came in super handy for seeing what obstacles where coming up
😂 dang didn’t realize how stock you run curious about damage
Funny enough I think I took most of my damage from the Gate keeper at the Loon Lake Entrance
Looks like I need a wench.
They definitely come in handy when you are out alone!
Stupid background music.
