I pulled the rails off of an old Chinese high cut I got back before I knew anything about Chinese products. I’d say that any reputable rail would do fine
any good tips to know where and how to correctly drill a centered hole (since they lack a midseam) for your nvg shroud? cause thats really the only one new hole or 3 you'd be adding. Thats my only concern as some cvc variants are thicker and maybe easier to ruin than if doing the same install on a ach or whatnot.
Probably not. Dudes have been hit multiple times in the helmet by fragments and bullets and it still held its strength. Also, the armor isn’t brindle like ceramic where a crack would compromise the whole thing. Shit, even ceramic can take multiple hits. So, no it doesn’t effect the strength of the armor.
Should only compromise a very small area around the drilled hole. The chance is so small that if you get hit there God probably wanted you to die or you’re just plain unlucky.
😂"Beg, borrow or tactically aquire"😅
I ETSd and kept my CVC so I’m probably gonna do this as well! Thanks for posting the video brother!
Tactically acquired just made me cry 😂
Abt to actually acquire this right now so just needed ideas, appreciate it🙏🏽😊
Awesome video helped out a lot also using a CVC to Convert it into a fast helmet
Glad to hear it was useful!
what rails did you use? they seem to fit perfectly on there.

I know the dude who shot the last ever MGS gunnery he keeps getting article 15s and demotions. Been a PFC for two years.
What did you seal it with
Can you shoot a link to the rails you used? I ordered some expensive Team Wendy’s and they do not fit unfortunately

I used some from Amazon they work

Where can you buy a CVC liner? Specifically the Bose one, but any will do. Also, are they ITAR?

Use measuring tape (nylon) to draw a vertical center line, line up your 3 hole shroud and sharpie where your holes line up
What comm mount did you get and can you Mount an peltors too them
I have contacts. The rails will accept pretty much any configuration.
How did you even up the rails perfectly?
how did you finish the edging? tape or sealer?
He didn’t, a CVC is shaped like that, all he did was add the rails
Could you put a regular high cut cover on it too?
Probably not. The CVC is much wider than your normal helmet. The back also comes down lower.
Now I'm inspired to turn a CVC helmet into a motorcycle helmet.
Do it!
Do you think the screw holes compromise the integrity of the ballistic protection?
Probably not. Dudes have been hit multiple times in the helmet by fragments and bullets and it still held its strength. What rail did you use
Cheap Chinese one I had laying around
is that a psq-20 mount? if so would u recommend the unit?
That’s not a psq20 mount, and that system drains batteries really fast
what size helmet did you use? medium?
Yea that’s a medium CVC shell
lol nice
What nij level CVC had?
Honestly I don’t know. My old first sergeant took an AK round to one and lived so…
It’s lvl 3 I believe.
