Its probably for the best considering Obsidians approach to designing video games.

I like barrels nononono. I dont mind the graphics, sir. I criticise the story and how Obsidian made the mission design. I found it so bland and boring for longer than what is acceptable. Too much filler, too much backtracking, too much "Why am I here now? why couldn't I do cool stuff like in the 1st game?"
Etc. My issue is Obsidians design approach.
They did absolutely amazing with Fallout New Vegas though. Keep in mind that they were under immense time pressure while making KOTOR 2. Obsidian would definitely be my first choice if i had to pick someone to develop a third game.
But that's for the best, would you like Bioware handling such a game? after Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age 2/3? or perhaps the atrocious writing in SWTOR isn't enough for you?

They would most certainly not be disappointed of Jango Fett. Praised as one of the greatest Mandalores of all time.
+hudscp First of all, wasn't Boba the Mandalore, not Jango? And second of all...I'm not sure what they'd think of him being a bounty hunter in the service of the Sith, given this KOTOR Mandalore's opinions on them. There's even an episode of the Clone Wars series where Obi-Wan mentions Jango to a Mandalorian official, only for the official to scoff at him.

+Balint Billinger That completes the gam tbh. Just download that. Obsidian put so much onto the disks knowing someone would restore the content. Stupid Lucas Arts making them release this for the Holidays. A game is done when it's done. There should never be a deadline.
NO. The restored content is pretty much not worth it. It adds some stuff, sure, but it's nowhere near the satisfaction its praisers promise. And sometimes, what it adds makes 0 sense whatsoever: for example Atton vs Sion - after the battle the game "acts" as it has never took place anyway.
The m4-78 is very tedious, but it has a couple good moments that make it worth it (and, my god, the music is exceptionally beautiful), and the HK-factory would be awesome if not for the fact that you have to fight your way through waves and waves of enemies with weak HK-47, it takes forever, however the inner story and its consequences are pretty neat.

All you is proper 100% energy and ion block, good upgraded blasters and rapid fire 3. Dialogs btween hk 47 and 50 is very good. Can catch few lols. Droid planet? Good. Not perfect, but good. By the way if Atton looses to sion you will get his death scene. It was worth. So much effort and work have been done, so you can' t just ignore it.

That last little scene of the Ebon Hawk drifting alone into deep space always brings a strange tear to my eye. I can never tell if it's sadness, or some strange sense of appreciation, but it's such a hauntingly beautiful scene.

To be fair, I would have loved to see KOTOR3. After finally playing through both the originals, I'd have loved to see it.

+James Salvatore dude kotor 2's story is 100x more poignant and meaningful than the turd that was the first game. Obsidian produced a much better game.
iflyte The fact that you say the first one was a turd renders your arguement completely irrelevant because the 2nd game was to very large degree based around what happened in the first game. Even areas and characters from the first game return in the 2nd.
Thus making it "poignant and meaningful"
I however disagree. I found Obsidians lack of experience, their inability to understand finesse and proper level design to destroy what is otherwise an okay and interesting story to a certain degree.
But overall this game suffers from filler content and pointless moments that dont really add to the game but to keep you locked behind things for way too long.
Where as the 1st game by Bioware was made with balance and story progression mixed with an even and fair amount of gameplay in mind. Creating stability between the two. Lots of story. Lots of gameplay. Satisfying ending, cool boss fights, satisfying romances and above all interesting characters that accompany you who you can even turn on and kill.
In Kotor 2 I heard nothing since the start of the game about how I control everyone and they beg me to turn away from the dark side over and over.
Characters aside from a few proved to be rather uninteresting and the fact that your ability to get Mira or the wookie depends entirely on your dark/lightside rating is annoying as hell (which cheats can solve ofc)
And then there are the missions and their endless, overly long combat sequences that dont result in any overall " Ahhh HA!" kind of moment like when Revan defeated Malak. You had the epic entry, the epic fight and then the cool ending where you are the Nr 1 badass from a dark side point of view.
Not to mention that extra cinematic bit where you learn about what happens now and even see Bastila and Revan assuming control.
Its awesome.
Yet in Kotor 2 you just shut up Kreia at long freaking last and then you just... move on. And the worst part is she even wants you to end her because she's all over the place in cryptic, endless, mind numbing blabbering in my opinion.
Yes she had her moments...but overall I found her dry and boring not to mention painfully predictable.
Overall these only add to what is the core problem. Being the level design and lack of finesse to the entire game.
Story is too bland. Too much filler. Too boring locations that are but throw backs to the original but fail more than they succeed.
And playing this game on higher difficulty will result in slowing down your progress thus resulting in you finding yourself stuck in very very boring space stations, devoid of life and interest for way...too...long.
But yes. Like the other guys said.

+James Salvatore Companions complaining about dark side was never big deal in Kotor 2 because it has influence system which guarantees that your companions you care about will go to dark side just like you while in original if you go dark side you are left with just canderous and droids everybody else will leave you or attack you ..
Characters aren't interesting? Yea Smuggler inspired by Han Solo who was in Revans elite sith team capturing dozens of Jedi all by himself who then managed to escape the whole army and hide from them for years and having ability to resist mind control of best trained jedi and sith not interesting at all you would rather have Carth Onasi "the hero of the republic" who ran away from Revan who was about to murder his friend right?
And you would rather have Bastila who keeps lecturing you about how dark side is bad and how her battle mediation is important and then converts in a single torture sessions which Jedi are trained to resist to dark side instead of Visas a blind sith apprentice with ability to see through force as a lone survivor of a planet consumed by Lord of Hunger.
Or rather have Juhani a manly female cat who converted to the darkside in early padawan test but somehow later on for whatever reason becomes character with best light side alignment in your whole crew instead of Kreia who learned to manipulate with the force to the point that she lost her sight for not using it often enough and trained most powerful sith lords of the era.
As to story I don't know why you hold story of original kotor so highly since "factory of limitless armies" is as cheap idea for plot as it gets. A 5 year old could come up with that. At least kotor 2 is innovative.
Better gameplay? How? Kotor 1 doesn't even show you which containers have been looted, companions just eventually spill out their story now matter the relationship you have with them, you need to rehack every terminal you've already hacked and when you use force speed companions aren't even able to catch up. It also has ridiculously small level cap at 20 which pretty much ensures that if you do all side quests you won't be able to level up in mid-to-late game ..
One thing people who criticise Kotor 2 have to remember is Kotor 1 is basically the Star Wars movies again and in truth Kotor 1 IS the best vanilla Star Wars experience. HOWEVER Kotor 2 actively recontextualize and makes fun of the Star Wars system of ethics and morality, it actively makes fun of Kotor 1 and Star Wars arguing against it and its foolishness. Now this is why Kotor 3 would have been awesome because Kotor 1 is the thesis, Kotor 2 the atheisis, Kotor 3 the synthesis combining the best of both worlds while not having the dumb morality that plagues Star Wars

Canonically, Revan is a male, but at the beginning of this game, you get to decide what his gender is and what path he took (Lightside or Darkside) he took in the first game.
Kotor 2 is maybe my favourite game ever and quite possibly my favourite story of Star Wars universe. The gray and gray morality. The incredible character of Kreïa. The strange and mysterious mystery around the sith menace...

I've just finished it and was really disappointed. I was such a fan of Kotor, this writing felt poor. The final boss is 3 floating light sabres 😂

This ending is actually very good, but I would have wanted to see the things Kreia described in the future depicted in cut-scenes, with her voice-over telling us about them as the cut-scenes were played out. That would have made the ending even better.*

I believe she is referencing the GAR, the Clones learned about Mandalorian history and upheld their code as much as the Republic allowed them too, their armours where also based upon Mandalorian designs, yet these Clones are not true Mandalorians, they aren't mighty conquerors, they are clones, the shell of a man, simple soldiers sent to die by the millions...
OR she is referencing Jango...
Jango is a Mandalorian, he knows about their history and their warrior code and wears the armor of Mandalorian warriors yet he is no true Mandalorian, he is not a warrior, merely a bounty hunter, a very effective one yes, but a bounty hunter in the end, something that most other Mandalorians loathed for the most part... A man that eventually met his end too easily at the hands of a Jedi.

Andulin Ardenson He actually didn't die. He makes it out of the Sarlaac in the Legends EU and he's getting his own movie in a couple years so I assume he makes it out in the new canon too.
In a book with all the Bounty Hunters' stories in it (IG-88, Dengar, Bossk etc.) - Boba escapes and finds Han, but after a brief fight, they both agree to go their separate ways and let their feud die.

Fuck TOR. It's like the game went out of it's way to ruin all the good characters in KOTOR 1 and 2 by shoehorning all the stupid crap about Vitiate being involved in behind-the-scenes actions in them. And what for? Vitiate is just a lesser version of Palpatine who failed. Why give him such a big role in SW when he barely qualifies as a character, especially at the expense of characters like Revan and Kreia? On top of that, it's as though the people who made SWTOR almost completely forgot about this game. Why does Nihilus barely get any mention at all in TOR when he made both Revan and Malak look like cream-puffs in terms of power? The guy was a hair's breadth away from gaining the power to eat all life in the galaxy. You know, that thing that everyone in TOR started panicking about then they learned Vitiate was planning to do it, only Nihilus could do it without calling in second-stringers to do the work for him? And the thing about Vitiate being immortal? Big deal, Sion basically did that in this game too (also Palpatine could do the same thing, only he didn't need a ritual to sustain his essence). Plus, they forgot to mention anything about Kreia's attempt to COMPLETELY DESTROY THE FORCE. That's scarier than anything that ever happened in SW, because if she had succeeded, it might have wiped out most of the life in the universe.
Wrong about Vitiate failing btw. Kreia says in this very video that the Republic falls. One would interpret that as the sith win the war, we do not yet know anyway. That, and Vitiate isn't dead yet. There's a whole chapter still to come. It could end up being KOTOR 3.

What she was referring to was the slow decay of the Republic over the millennia that lead to Palpatine's rise to power. Think about it; only 320ish years pass between this exchange and the Galactic War's initiation, which took place in 3642 BBY, after the Great Galactic and Cold Wars. The New Sith Wars began in 2000 BBY, and after that, every significant conflict up to the Clone Wars is historically accounted for. Vitiate's only window for overthrowing the Republic is between 3642 BBY and 2000 BBY, and the events between those two time periods show that the Republic was obviously intact. That would lead one to conclude that Vitiate lost the Galactic War, and we know he can't have re-risen after the Clone Wars because Plaguies confirms that he is dead in the Darth Plaguies novel.

Vitiate would have been a great character if they had done him well, and i mean NOT A F****ING MMO!!! An MMO could never make a good story like kotor and still have the same feeling, and for the sake of balance, the Empire and the Republic are the exact same. Revan's Empire left the Republic in the edge of collapse, and the REMNANTS of his empire almost pushed it off the edge if not for one person (the Exile). They were building up this threat and this war that would be like nothing before, yet this empire is a weak thing with everyone vbeing usseless but yourself!!! That's the problem with MMO's you have to balance things, and you can't end a story due to "end game". WHY CAN't THEY JUST MAKE KOTOR III INSTEAD OF CALLING SWTOR KOTOR III, IV, ETC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Revan is pretty strong: he faced a powerful Sith sorceress and managed to send her spell back to her face, turning her to ashes
This is by far my favorite ending in every game I've ever played. You just fly off into the unknown regions of space searching for Revan and the Sith Empire. It really feels incomplete like there needs to be a KOTOR 3.

I like how the True Sith Empire was deemed so dangerous that both Jedi and Sith in the known galaxy would need to work together. Would've been a nice plot point to see in KOTOR 3

It takes place in the Revan Novel, Revan discovers the true sith from the great hyperspace war and finds their empire but gets captured and tortured, the exile finds T3 and stops sion, kreia and nihilus then visits bastila and gets his mask and goes after him, finds him and frees him, they together try to take on the emperor like revan and malak did, but she died after getting stabbed in the back from a low ranking sith (that time, lord scourge (not darth yet) was just a foot soldier sith warrior and Revan got captured (again) and got put in stasis while the emperor fucked with his head for 300 years
sharangcool i dont think lord scourge was just a foot soldier in the book it is mentioned that he was a great warrior that ended several rebellions on the empire's frontier for that reason he was summoned by darth nyriss to investigate the assassination atempts and a lord of the sith is under dark lord but still more than just a common foot soldier

Oh yes, how I love that line.
You got to love how Kreia hints at the movies when she's talking about the future. "The republic shall fall as it has done but it will be a Millennium." or the part where she talks about the Mandalorians.
Kreia taught us how to actually view star wars. She is by far the greatest teacher you can have relating to events in the Star Wars universe. Revans character was butched in SWTOR and thats not me bashing it, I still play SWTOR. Revans sacrifice was much more impactful in these games. He went to face the true Sith, returned a Sith Lord to conquer the Galaxy to prepare for the inevitable invasion of the True Sith Empire, left certain infrastructures intact in case he failed and the galaxy could try again. The Exile being a wound in the force is amazing. Kreias line hurts when she says that basically if the exile died without teaching others what she knows it would be devastating and SWTOR and the Revan book completely disregarded both their journeys. Kotor 3 should have happened and we should have had some closure on these games. I'll never stop wanting these to be completed. Hopefully with the remake coming out there's hope. I just hope I see it before I die 😂

Just imagine how much more amazing this game would have been if they didn’t have the Christmas deadline. If Obsidian could make this in a year, hands-down it would’ve been the best game ever made if they had more time

I always heard about how poor this ending was from my friend, who said it felt rushed when he played through it. Now I can see why - seems like they had so much to offer, but time just wasn't on the developers' side ;(
2:21 fortelling how the mandalorian jango fett will clone himself into the clone army, like in ep. 2, armor upon a shell of a man = a clone, too easily slain by jedi, they are slaughtered by the tens of thousands by the separatists and evgentually the rebels
The Storm Troopers, by the time of the Rebellion, are made up mostly of conscripts and volunteers rather than clones. Palpatine decided to end the cloning process when the Kaminoans tried to rebel.
If they make a third game, which I pray they do, If they could incorporate the characters you made in the first two, like making Reven and this one, from your previous games that are saved on your computer, maybe working with them and having them in your party, you could fight this "war" that Kreia talks about.
It's highly doubtful they will but if they do which we all want I'd love if the exile and Revan are in it and involved but party members no their legacy is complete but I'd love to see you work with them one way or another
+Pricefield It wouldn't just be computer this time since next gen consoles would be in the mix, not a surprise since KOTOR came out for the first Xbox too if I'm not mistake, though Disney making KOTOR non-canon presents a problem. On the bright side, both Bioware and Obsidian have expressed interest in making a 3rd game eventually

It would be cool if they did a Kotor 3 which took place right after Kotor 2 where Revan and Meetra Surrik(The Exile) travels to the unknown regions and tries to stop the sith empire.
And Obsidan themselves wants to do Kotor 3 but with EA having all rights to Star Wars games nowdays i doubt they will let Obsidian make Kotor 3.

Disney told Star War Legend or EU is no longer as Canon which means is not Star Wars anymore, no more movies, series, cartoon, games accrording to EU aka Legends. So no more KOTOR 3

the ending is so powerful , i felt sad when i beat this game and got the lightside ending it was not something done ever before and pulled off so well even with all of the cuts obsidian was forced to make.

The Mass effect series all 4 Andromeda included is a perfect games, Mass effect 3s ending before and after the extended cut was a perfect ending in my opinion.

He talks about how the True Sith were supposed to be in Kotor 3 with how Kotor 1&2 set them up as a mysterious group of dark side users who were alot more powerful then current Sith ever were. The philosophy of the True Sith were supposed to be like the Shadows from Babylon 5 pure war and chaos and they were supposed to be so terrifying that devasted events and locations like Malachor V were nothing but a normal battle to them. They were supposed to be so powerful that if they wanted to they could easily overwhelm the Old Republic and turn the entire Jedi Order to the dark side because they didn't understand war not like Revan did. And that's why Revan turned on the Republic and Order and started his Sith Empire because he was so horrified of the True Sith that he thought he had no choice but to conquer the Republic reorganize it and have as many Jedi that would turn into Sith to his side so the galaxy could atleast stand a chance against the True Sith with the help of the Starforge.
Now that is the type of Sith Empire we should of got, pure evil and powerful beings who relishes on the dark side so much they make the Force tremble before them. Not the nerfed semi evil but really just Galactic Empire knockoffs we got in Swtor. We should of gotten this group of Sith so we can see the true war for the galaxy unfold. That sounds alot better then Emperor Vitiate to me. Imagine a entire army of Sions and Nihilus like Sith lords now that's terrifying. And now you would understand why Revan needed to find the Starforge not because he was controlled by Vitiate but becasue he was *afraid.*

My heart tore as Kreia spoke this. I couldn't help not to feel very, very sad for Revan. Went off to fight a losing war without Carth's love and support from friends.

Who cares about what is canon? kotor 2 is probably the single greatest addition to the Star Wars mythos since the original trilogy, and it's been all but retconned by Bioware's shitty TOR game and books. SW canon is a great big pile of shit, and I'm glad the two kotor games managed to distance themselves from it by setting it thousands of years before the indefensibly terrible prequel movie era.

KOTOR 3 you fight as a follower of Revan when he went to the Unknown regions to fight the Emperor, I wish they make a game about that but I guess this awesome game will never deserve a continue to its story, it did get an MMO that didnt feel right.. :(
A story where you take on a role similar to Scourge, where you can fight alongside Revan, fight against him or betray him.

The ending as the ship flies off, the rebuilt Jedi Temple theme playing, did not sit right with me when I was a teen playing this game (as I was used to the thematic story of the original KOTOR and the Star Wars series as a whole). After replaying it, I understood why: Yes, the Exile defeated Nihilus, Scion and Kreia. Yes, the Exile's companions would end up rebuilding the order and revitalizing the Republic.
But the battle wasn't over. Not truly.
The Exile only overcame those who wanted the death of the last Jedi, not the real threat building in the dark places. The Exile knew Revan was out there fighting it and that battle would most likely only hold back the tide for a moment. But it's a battle that has to be fought. That's why the music is bittersweet and somber: the Exile must abandon everyone and go off to certain death.
Technically you could just name your character Bastilla and be Bastilla!

The old republic ruined the story of Revan and the exile for me. I felt there was so much potential and the old republic ruined it.
Well that game was made by Bioware and Bioware was the Developer of KOTOR, so thats really the story of Revan and Exile
I love KOTOR! Especially 2. Kreia brings up so many interesting philosophical questions that NONE of the movies ever addresses, is the light side really good? Is the dark side truely evil? Do the Jedi bring more damage than harm? Is the galaxy better off without the Jedi? Is the force good or damaging? Is one better off without the force or with it? Shes not just one of the best characters in the star war universe, shes a contender for best character EVER! Complex and thought-provoking.

when kreia talks about the end of the mandalorians, and mentions that they will become "the shell of an armor on the shell of a man", does this refer to boba or jango fett? the last mandalorians?(before karen travis revived the race)

Evgeny Sidagis boba fett has been retconned so many times that he has like, a dozen backstories, but he's mandalorian in arguably every single one of them and definitely in the current legends and cannon ones.

More importantly, The Old Republic retconned the most important stuff in KotOR 2.

So The Exile (Meetra Surik), went into The Unknown Regions in which she meet with Revan and we have the events from Revan's book: She dies in the Throne Room from Lord Scorge but anyway I still wonder: what happened between KOTOR 2 and SWTOR besides Revan Book? That is why we will HAVE to have KOTOR 3 one day, I believe that!

Just finished the game now, shame there wasn't one last team talk before the final area like in kotor1.
She was happy that the exile killed because it meant that Kreia had finally succeeded as a teacher, and that the exile was ready for whatever hapens next.
Great game! Lots of fun! I just played it for the first time and beat it after beating KOTOR1. But I have to say that this ending disappointed me. Probably the worst ending for a video game. Now I have to beat it on the dark side to see what the difference is. But I can already tell that the ending isn't going to be any better.
They were originally planning on making a KOTOR III, but it was canceled.

Something that's always bothered me was the fate of the companions. According to what I've seen/read, the cut content showed that many of the exile's companions were on Malachor trying to stop Kreia, and only Anton escaped. They're all purposely vague about what happened to everyone else. Were they all killed on Malachor? If so, do these prophecies still apply?

The Exile went back to her homeworld Dantooine to rebuilt the order and she left her jedi companions to rebuilt the order. Then she went to the unknown Regiens to find Revan and no one has seen her again.
Awesome. And we're not gonna see sequel thanks to swtor debacle. But its ok at least we get Battlefront ... well at least Battlefront that doesn't meet any expectations and will probably be reskinned Battlefield.

Kotor II was created by obsidian and sw tor is created by bioware, obsidian thought that could make the third part but somehow lucas arts wasn't interested in that.

Yes, but the assholes at BioWare weren't happy that Obsidian made a complex story, so they, with Lucasarts, tried to retcon her into being "Just a Sith" and always having been evil, when she was so, so, so much more.
I would have loved a 3rd game where you as a jedi/sith surviver from the mandalorian wars and the jedi civil war, were tasked to go across the galaxy to search for Revan and the exile's allies in order to go beyond the outer rim to find the true sith, the ones who first discovered the darkside. to bad we got the half assed old republic online game, that game is not even cannon to me. but anyways this game had all the potential for a good 3rd installment, but oh well, guess this will have to suffice XD

I don't understand why Kreia refers to refer as a woman, Revan's a guy.
You can if you choose pick the ending where you made Revan a woman and not a guy, that's how they linked the two games, in the first dialogue with Attin
In the novel and in the Old Republic game, it shows and states that he's clearly a man. Just like how the Exile is apparently a woman. Also, history says that that Revan had a child with Bastila Shan, which is why they say that Satele is Revan's descendant, he wouldn't have been able to do that if he was a woman.
No, it's like Bioware likes to do, where If you played KOTOR 1 where say you made Revan a woman, you can acknowledge that you did so and agree with Attin when he called Revan a woman, though you can also just follow the lore and correct Attin in the Peragus Facility and let him know that Revan was a guy.
There's still the novel that says he is a guy. Also, if you search him up, you will see that he is a man.
And like a I said, Satele Shan is his descendant and it started when he had a child with Bastila, he wouldn't have been able to do that if he was a woman.

In Kotor I you can be a female or a male, since this carries on the events from that game Revan's gender is again unspecified.
You can choose the gender of Revan on Peragus.
Yea it's a quick conversation with Atton and he says something about Revan and who they are and you can interject and say something to the affect of you're wrong Revan was a female etc and whether or not they returned to their darkside ways or was redeemed. I played KOTOR II first before KOTOR I and didn't get it till I played the first game and understood that.

No Kreia is talking about the Sith that ran away from Korriban when the Republic bombarded the planet. The Eternal Empire is not Sith it is greater than Sith and Jedi same Emperor as the Sith Empire but different believes by force sensitive in the ranks of the Eternal Empire

God damn first time ever beating this and it went from a high 4 to a mid 3 just cuz I think that ending sucks, like it was pain stackingly obviously she was the main bad guy and after it, um you just fly away into the galaxy. Would've been a bit happier if they at least had ng+.
Jango's family was killed by mercs and the last of the mandolorians saved him. They raised him and trained him until Count Dukku and his jedi killed them, but Boba was a boy when Jango died, so he couldn't have learned the mandolorian training and probally just used modern training
is it just me or was it hinted that Kriea was/is Bastila?...That would make alot of sence with the rest of the story, cuz Bastila trained Revan and Kriea mentioned that she trained him/her too
You must remember that kotor 1 was done by Bioware (my favorite) and kotor 2 was done by obsidian And the upcoming swtor is done by Bioware aswell, so you can expect it to be a thrilling story while being an MMO, all based on you opinions, though.
