- Many choices in this game. If you choose, there are quite a few Sith that you can turn down a better path. Yuthura is a great example of this, as she seems to be a real victim of circumstance. Kind of like Bane, in a way, I guess.
Anyway, if you talk to her about her past, Yuthara can become your friend, and it is then possible to make her rethink her current allegiance to the Sith, after completing your Sith trials on Korriban.
I'll be posting a follow-up vid to this one, which has Yuthura on Dantooine.
I always found it really jarring that when you kill both teachers and leave the tomb suddenly you are a traitor to the sith. by their ideology, wouldnt killing your teachers basically put you on the honor role? I mean the whole idea of the sith is that power determines your station, so when you leave the tomb wouldn't it make more sense if the students wanted to learn from you? or at the very least want to kill you to increase their prestige?
+davo46 Me too. I just got through playing KOTOR again and now that I'm older and pay more attention (I was a kid the last time I played.) I was kind of confused.
I just played through it last week, the reason the whole academy turns on you if you kill both is because they think that if THEY kill you THEY will become the master. Too bad for them I single handedly slaughtered everyone in there. (:
And neatly displays the problems with the Sith at the same time - you can't get anything constructive done if every day you have to fend off mass attempts at assassination.
I guess they're all so hopelessly greedy that their minds have basically stopped working. Even the lowliest worm will be like, "shit, this is my chance! I SHALL BECOME DARTH SQURIMIUS!"
It makes even less sense considering you are Darth fucking Revan and you ARE their superior even before killing them.
I LOVE the character development in this game. I never expected her to actually still have good left in her. But this threw me for a spin and it was awesome!
So many years later, people still comment on this video.
When she leaves to go back to the Jedi, Revan turns arounds and says, "Looks like you've been... BANNED! Muahaha!"

Wow...I didn't know this was possible. This is what I love about KOTOR, even the minor characters have a bit of depth.

not only can you turn her back to the light but if you complete the planets in a certain way, she will be on Datooine and you can visit her with some extensive dialogue. Most assume she is never heard from again but its not true. She rejoins the order and meets up with her old master. She still has confliction but sounds like shes making effort to stay for retraining..
+Blazer Hell not necessarily.. yes datooine is destroyed but you don't know who survives. The Jedi masters show up in Kotor 2 so obviously they survived.
Also Yadira Ban might be a possible ancestor.
Jeez, there is so much shit I miss in this game, no matter how many playthroughs.
A lot of it is due to glitches. I don't think I had a single playthrough in which I completed everything, simply because some quests (especially companion ones) tend to be moody, and will appear on one playthrough and won't on other. It's a roullette. Same goes for some romance options. Sometimes they work properly, sometimes not, nothing you can do.

Well there's a mod, that allowes you to recruit her on Dantooine.
She should be a companion if you kill Juhanni

I didn't think she was even redeemable.....totally assumed the persuade stuff was for pointless backstory that wouldn't affect anything.

This game has soooo much story and development that there are alot of different ways to defeat an oponent and either change or leave that person to the dark side its soo cool
The sheer awesomeness of this game never ceases to amaze me.
I like how she salutes by "May the Force be with you" at the end, instead of the Sith equivalent "May the Force serve you well". Well done.

Actually they did. Yuthura Ban''s voice actor also played Komari Vosa in Star Wars: Bounty Hunter.
Yuthura is one of my favorite (non-companion) characters in either game.

And about Korriban: for different reasons. Bastila was just afraid of being recognized (because some of those Sith WOULD recognize Bastila, but apparently NONE of them knew what Revan looked like. I guess Revan liked to keep a mask on even BEFORE you turned to the dark side. *sigh* doesn't make sense.)
Kreia was more afraid of the power of Korriban itself.

If they made a KOTOR mode where you could redeem anyone from the dark side of the force, but you could only redeem it once per game, who would you redeem?

@@comicsans1689 u sure? Pretty sure it wouldn't be a mod, considering that Bastila actually has voice lines on Korriban. There's probably a way to get her onto Korriban in the base game, otherwise Bastila wouldn't have any voice lines.
She kinda reminds me of Fenris from Dragon Age 2 (btw also Bioware game). Both were slaves, both can be "converted"under certain circumstances (Fenris can be taught to tolerate mages) and both are my favourite minor characters
And then Malak bombed the ever loving hell out of the jedi academy on dantooine.... Most likely killing every god damn sith we turned to the light along with all the other people there.

@kusindan There's probably an answer somewhere in the comments given how frequently the question is asked, but I wondered that too. When I landed on Korriban with Bastila, everybody agreed that she should stay on the Ebon Hawk since every single Sith in the galaxy was searching for her and knew exactly what she looked like.

See how often Revan used the 'persuade' dialogue choice when talking to Yuthura? You have to select this option when speaking w/ Yuthura to get her to relax and bond w/ Revan. In order for these persuade dialogue options to be available & to work, the player has to pay into the persuade skill when leveling up. You've got to increase your persuade ability almost every time, if not every time you level up, in order to have enough persuade skill to turn Yuthura from the dark side. Good luck!
I honestly tried but I couldn't get her to open up to me so she didn't become my friend and when the time came I sided with her only to find out that she was going to kill me so I restarted from the previous save and took on both her and Uthar with 30% health and no health packs

Listen, I know you don't understand, but when I made the videos, I did it for entertainment purposes, which is what UA-cam is all about. The attention I got from it is greater than I ever expected or hoped for. And because of that, I've been given high expectations and disrespect from it as comes with people who get popular...
I feel that way when I go to other people's houses as I'm a guest in their home. If you decide to violate that, I decide to withhold my respect for you. I just won't put up with people who won't be respectful. Most people around here like me because I show them respect because they show respect for me.
I've been more than fair with trying to give public relations with this hobby of mine which is why I should get respect from people when I try to help them. Look at it this way. My channel is my house. I deserve respect when you come to my house.
How did u get Bastila on Korriban?
Well enjoy wasting your life playing games then. It all comes down to sitting in front of a freakin computer and not doing anything which you could really benefit from in real life...What difference does it make whether you play an MMO or single player (taking in consideration that £10 per month is not a big deal for you). It's all about what you find most enjoyable. If you don't like never-ending MMO stories and interaction with hundreds of other players than so be it, play what suits you best
Still a fucking MMO. That means grindgrindgrind quest grind form party grind some more quest grind grind grind reach ending, game doesn't really end because it's an MMO, reach max level create, create new character repeat process until all your money belongs to the game's company.
In KOTOR you didn't need to grind because the monsters leveled up with you.
Enjoy your wasting life.

@Faohlun But yet you expect TOR to be alot like WoW, when you forget that Bioware is running it. During the ToR beta, if you played it, you should realise that ToR is ENTIRELY Story Driven. The first ten levels will drive any "grinders" and hard core WoWers, leaving the true fans of the Old Republic era to lead ToR.
Ok, two things I'd like cleared up;
1. Does poisoning Uthar affect whether or not this succeeds?
2. What's the minimum number of persuade skill you found you needed?
Just starting to get back into this game for the 3rd time, and starting to uncover more of the insanely large number of side quest options. (Scout / Consular for a change) =P
He should have been since his name came up in every conversation Saul and Malak had about Bastila's companions. Also, "revan" should have been recognizable since every dark jedi that crosses your path has a datapad w/ your and Bastil's descriptions on them.
But whatever, no point kicking a dead horse on a game thats what, 6 years old now.
Does this work if Dantooine has already gone boom-boom? Because if it does, I'd prefer that Yuthura flee to a different Jedi temple. I just don't like the idea of someone as dark as her being brought back and then dying anti-climactically in a Sith bombardment. That and Korriban is always the last planet I visit because Bastila can't come.

Well at least Bastila and Revan get to make out and she is a great character who can turn you to the dark side.
Juhani is a lesbian who doesn't want to fall to the dark side but she gets angry in the "Threat from Xor" quest, especially if you want to sell her.
its stuff like this that makes me love this game so much. best ever game, and better than the movies in my opinion. im so angry they turned this into an online game, mmorpg dont have story even if they claim they do. and there will be no voices. it just sux. galaxies bombed why they gotta ruin kotor
I started this but I accidentally got dark side points so I reloaded the save and then for some reason the game glitched and the game acted as if I had insufficient persuasion points, oh well playing it again won't be that painful.

When Juhani began her training, she had little peace because of her parents and the Mandalorian slaver, so she fell to the dark side before being brought back by Revan.

@hqndersA Mod but you can do it without a mod on the pc version. Look up how to enable cheats on the at some site like gamewinners ect and you can just use the warp cheat to take her.
I remember now - I sort of did this but I was DS so I proclaimed that I was Darth Revan and all that stuff but then let her leave without killing her which earned me LS points. :( Oh well.
But she kept freakin interupting you when you tried to talk to Gadon, I freakin wanted to do that thing the agents did to Neo in the matrix 1 where they made his mouth dissapear.

How Did You Get Her To Agree To Talking At 4:22? Every Time I Try She Always Says Something Like "We Can Be Friends When Uthar Is Dead" And I Can't Seem To Make Her Good.
The sheer arrogance of referring to the brainwashing and/or blackmailing of people to your cause or viewpoint as "redemption" is just another reason to loathe the Jedi.
As opposed to the Sith, who are kind enough to murder your family to force you into several years of constant beatings.
to be fair, if you're referring to Revan being brainwashed by the Council, he/she at the point of being brainwashed was already a Sith and had chosen the path of it. What would you expect the Council to do, simply persuade Darth Revan to just turn away willingly when he/she had fallen so far to the dark side? They could have chosen to end Revan's life at the point of capture but they didn't and used her instead to fight off Darth Malak and what he had unleashed.
as for this scenario, Revan blackmailing Yuthura was to simply to help Carth find his son. No one enters the Sith Academy without permission and the masters expect the students to reach their fullest potential however possible even if it meant bribing, coercing or blackmailing each other to impress the masters. It's the Sith way.
meanwhile Uthura and Yuthura had no problem with Revan- as a Sith Academy student, blackmailing one over the other in the hope of killing the other in order to rule the Sith Academy all by themselves. Again, THAT is the Sith way.

The Sith are so damn unrealistic, with how many of their own they kill they shouldn't even have the numbers they do. Sith kill more Sith than Jedi kill Sith. With some except of a few EU examples, the Sith are stupidly evil for no reason just because Lucas wanted a villain.
If there was another option I would take it, but at least with the Jedi she wont be stuck in the betray and be betrayed system called the Sith.

+Mr Gecko exactly, in all conflicts, both sides are always wrong. This is because they always have to make compromises and over-generalize/exaggerate themselves in order to bring more people to their side. The correct path is always between the two, Revan is a wonderful example of this

Absolutely. With better graphics, additional side quests, costumes, and items, and bug fixes, nothing would be better than a KOTOR 1 remake.

The Jedi Council reprogrammed me into a Soldier/Jedi Guardian character with zero skill in persuasion. When I talked to Yuthara, she only told me about how she escaped. I couldn’t make her budge about how she became a Sith. Then, after doing the tombs and clearing out the cave, BEFORE I told Uthar about my progress, I went back to her one more time just to try it one more time and it worked first try. Is this pure dumb luck, or does completing tombs give you a higher chance of dialogue success with her?
The Bastila part is a mod. If I remember correctly I think you can redeem Yuthura. Go to Kotor Files on gamefront for mods. Google kotor files.
i have been playin kotor2tsl and teh text luked SO WEIRD and i couldnt stop lukin at it it seems so shiny and bright compared 2 teh green text
how do you get bastila on korriban? It seems you can never get the main jedi party member on korriban; Bastila in kotor 1 and kreia in kotor 2.

on my game your character warns bastilla that their is a high possibility she would be recognized by members of the sith . To which bastilla concurs and chooses to remain on the ship "for the safety of the mission"
Yes it is. But Bioware made it impossible for her to travel with you on the final release for the sake of making sense.
its a mod where you can make items w/ the workbench on the Ebon Hawk and those robes are called CUSTOM BATTLE ROBES (BLACK)

Juhani suffered as many hardships as Yuthura did, it just leads me to Juhani. Of course it could be Revan and Bastila didn't want to reveal anything. It just points more to Juhani IMHO.
to have bastila on korriban, youmust be using PC and you can get a mod that allows it. The option thing, I don`t know.
