@@alephbete3.7 I start by going up and down the sixth string to find what key it's in so if I land on fret five and it sounds right when then I know it's an A when the chord changes I'll play a D note at fret five on the A string I'll do the same for the next note at fret seven on the A string that gives me the chords A D E , if there's another chord in the song I try the relative minor chord which is F sharp minor , as for learning a solo I mostly improvise using the major and minor pentatonic scales , I've just learned Dead flowers by the rolling stones which only uses three chords D A and G a great song to play , my advice is to start with songs that only have three chords and you will soon start to progress for songs with more than three chords for example Dire straits , or the Eagles use a chord sheet for guidance , I hope this helps 🎸🎶
