I never hated Artemis to begin with honestly. To me she was just someone who was unaware with the context of everything that was going on around her. I don't blame her for not seeing through her brother's BS since she did grow up with him and she thinks of him as a different person entirely. However I do want to see her take responsibility for the mistakes that she made.
I feel like people hate Artemis for similar reasons people hated Schyler White from Breaking Bad. Artemis hates Hades and makes Persephone spend time with Apollo. We the audience know that this is not good and contributing to Persephone's stress, but that's because we are privy to information Artemis isn't. Artemis hasn't seen much of Hades redeeming qualities and doesn't know how little Persephone wants to be a part of TGOEM. Apollo is her brother, and from the interaction we saw with Leto, probably the family member Artemis feels closest too. It makes sense that Artemis would trust Apollo, and she also has no knowledge of the rape.

Ok I’m gonna be honest. Leto doesn’t seem like a mother who’s verbally or mentally abusive or a gaslighter. from what you only see here that would be correct but if you actually read the webtoon the author makes it seem as if apollo is following leto's lead and then with the more recent addition of crouns still existing in tartarus and persephone being a fertility goddess it almost seems as if leto is trying to set up a take over where apollo is the zeus and to do that apollo needs to be recognized at zeus son and have persephone to take over olympus however instead of leading upto a major fight like most series the turning point that saves the day will be persephone marrying hades making her off limits to apollo or leto the fact that both of these characters are deceitful is making it seem like perhapes persephone and hades will discover there plot but zeus will be unable to punish them so they will settle with the half of the year agreement to prevent apollo from taking over but allowing persephone (for some reason) in olympus (perhaps because of her mother idk)

However all of this was just a theory of mine and I don’t really listen to theories not even my own because they hardly come true so until I see some canon stuff I’m sticking to what’s being told.

I 100% agree with your assessment of Artimes. Before this episode I was so aggravated that the self proclaim "man bullshit detector" and "man hater" couldn't see through her brothers lies. But after this chapter it all made sense. When you live in that kind of abuse house hold a couple of rules reign true. 1. Your family is important above all else. 2. You never question or fight against you parents. 3. Your parents (and sometimes older siblings)words are law and automatically true. Growing up in such a mentally abusive household Artimes didn't have much room to form her own thoughts and opinions on alot of things. She just had to go with whatever her brother and mother said. If she didn't she was punished. This explains why it's so hard for her to see the pain that Apollo has done to Persephone. And why the only reason she started to notice that Apollo and Persephone's relationship was off, was because she was in a free environment ( Hades house) and not an environment where her brother and mother have some control. When you are raised to believe the authority figure in your life are the authorities on the information in your life. It's kinda hard to see otherwise.🙁 I'm really happy that instead of falling for their manipulative tactics. She runs off in the end. This is a good sign for character growth
FYI, Artie is the older sibling. Some of her myths have her being born up to two days before Apollo and precociously helping Leto with childbirth. But since there's a lot of prejudice towards sons being superior to daughters, the rest of your theory tracks.

What's also scary about Leto and Apollo is that they're making some dangerous plan... Spoilers ahead! At the end of the chapter introducing Leto, after Artemis left they started talking about Persephone like she's Apollo's girlfriend and how they "going through a rough patch" Hate that but also Leto says, "how's my daughter in law" Like she's already made the choice that Persephone is going to marry Apollo. The worst part is, Apollo truly believes that with Hades, she's being corrupted by the Underworld and doing things she "normally wouldn't do" which is not true as we see Perse and Hades developing a loving relationship with consent and the freedom to talk to each other about problems they have. And then another scary part, in the last few chapters when Demeter is talking to Hecate about her theory of a fertility goddess, we see it in motion when Leto is making plans of revenge against Zeus or maybe just Hera or both and it's making me scared ngl because I have no idea what's gonna happen next and how Apollo, Leto, and Artemis are gonna be handled.
Artemis was always to be the character who wasnt aware enough to figure it out herself, and no one told her anything. I think back to the little meeting at hades where basically all Persephone's allies know she is unhappy and have to point it out to Artemis. That was the catalyst to a lot of Artemis's active role in the plot as once she knew there was a problem she tried to solve it her way, by hunting down the root cause Apollo. Artemis will come out the other side one of Persephone's loudest defenders. Once more is public knowledge.
I think I like Artemis. She’s just trying to look out for Persephone. But what I don’t like is how oblivious she is to Apollo. She is so quick to judge Persephone’s relationship w Hades. But not her own brother when he makes Persephone so unhappy and uncomfortable. But at the same time, I get it. That’s her brother and it’s hard to accept that someone you’re closed to may be an awful person who deserves to ROT IN THE PITS OF TARTARUS!!!!!!! **cough**I got ahead of myself. You made so many good points about Artemis not really having any close friends so it reflects that she might not know how to be a very good one to others. I never disliked Artemis. I would be constantly frustrated and annoyed that she wanted Persephone to get along with her brother while constantly misjudging Hades but I understand that it’s because she has a close relationship with her brother and was trying to look out for Persephone. Sometimes, the people who you love the most, are the ones who can hurt you the most and they turn out to be the ones you can trust the least. And because they’re family, it you don’t see it coming and it just kills you. After she got double teamed by her mother and brother with their gaslighting and manipulation, I felt sympathy for her. Her mother is emotionally abusive and seems to favor Apollo over Artemis. First she shamed her for getting emotional. Then she listens to his story but instead of listening to her daughter’s side of the story, she immediately shames her to believe her family instead of a goddess she’s just met, and uses the term “family” against her to dole out her guilt, question/doubt herself, and to make her give up. It just made me love and sympathize with her even more. I honestly know the feeling. It’s not pleasant. Leto shows the signs of a manipulative, gaslighting, emotional abuser and Artemis in this chapter showed the signs of emotional and psychological abuse. Instead of love being relationship oriented, this feels more like agenda oriented type of relationship between Artemis and her mother as Leto uses some tactics to gain control and power over her daughter while she coddles and dotes on Apollo. Sad part is, people being manipulated, gaslit, and abuse in some way are convinced that is “love” and are taught to see it that way. Like they were out of line and deserving of the shame and guilt and the people who “love” them are just correcting unacceptable behavior. But really, it’s the toxic kind of love that shows no care or respect for the recipients. This is why I have come to care for Artemis more than I did before. I wonder if there’s a god/goddess of psychology and therapy since there are so many characters in need of help and support.

He will try to apologize. But Persephone will accept his apology but not forgive him. And then he will dive off the mental deep end

Hey, remember how Apollo seems to have some kind of suggestive power over people through his connection to music? I wouldn’t be surprised if his mom takes his side because he’s constantly used that ability (unwittingly or not) on her. For that matter, I’m still trying to figure out if Zeus and Leto’s relationship was consensus or not. Either way, Apollo’s suggestive powers clearly come from one of his parents’s toxic behavior and abilities.
Artemis was by FAR my favourite character seeing her receive so much hate was heart breaking, considering other gods like Zeus or Thanatos were still reasonably popular despite their very questionable decisions. Honestly she's been through some shit and doesn't deserve hate just because she had no context to the situation.

It does wear thin in the same way Minthe’s attitude does, not help by the fact that the story will start and stop plots at random. Idk it hasn’t gotten to me too badly yet, but I could see how others may have grown tired of it.

I think there has been some sort of adversarial relationship set up between Olympians and Hades (or maybe the Underworld at a whole). Like Hades has said something about there being stigma attached to his role. It really hasn’t been explained but that’s the best I can figure.

I hate the way this comic makes Apollo, a god recognised as a symbol of bisexuality, a sexual abuser. It’s complete erasure and it makes me so upset that people don’t talk about it more. Apollo is arguably one of the kinder gods in the myths, and he also has nothing to do with Persephone. I know SA is important topic to talk about, and I don’t want to invalidate anyone who feels seen by this comic. But I think mistakes were made here - Zeus would have been a better character to demonstrate this message, or Pirithous. Also, the way it characterises Leto as a ‘boy mom’ when she loved both of her children equally in the myths is really sad. Then again, the way the comic characterises Demeter (who is arguably the hero in the actual myth) is also hugely inaccurate. It feels like this comic has a history of demonising mothers and erasing lgbtqia+ rep, which is incredibly harmful. I think there are better retellings out there and I hope they get more attention.

from what you only see here that would be correct but if you actually read the webtoon the author makes it seem as if apollo is following leto's lead and then with the more recent addition of crouns still existing in tartarus and persephone being a fertility goddess it almost seems as if leto is trying to set up a take over where apollo is the zeus and to do that apollo needs to be recognized at zeus son and have persephone to take over olympus however instead of leading upto a major fight like most series the turning point that saves the day will be persephone marrying hades making her off limits to apollo or leto the fact that both of these characters are deceitful is making it seem like perhapes persephone and hades will discover there plot but zeus will be unable to punish them so they will settle with the half of the year agreement to prevent apollo from taking over but allowing persephone (for some reason) in olympus (perhaps because of her mother idk)

Like 1) Zeus is known for having affairs 2) Leto had a falling out with Hera that got her exiled 3) Leto’s son looks a bit like Zeus maybe a little too much tbh 4) Apollo being the narcissist that he is seems like the one that would try to over throw a king. However all of this was just a theory of mine and I don’t really listen to theories not even my own because they hardly come true so until I see some canon stuff I’m sticking to what’s being told.

I 100% agree with your assessment of Artimes. Before this episode I was so aggravated that the self proclaim "man bullshit detector" and "man hater" couldn't see through her brothers lies. But after this chapter it all made sense.
When you live in that kind of abuse house hold a couple of rules reign true.
1. Your family is important above all else.
2. You never question or fight against you parents.
3. Your parents (and sometimes older siblings)words are law and automatically true.
Growing up in such a mentally abusive household Artimes didn't have much room to form her own thoughts and opinions on alot of things. She just had to go with whatever her brother and mother said. If she didn't she was punished.
This explains why it's so hard for her to see the pain that Apollo has done to Persephone. And why the only reason she started to notice that Apollo and Persephone's relationship was off, was because she was in a free environment ( Hades house) and not an environment where her brother and mother have some control.
When you are raised to believe the authority figure in your life are the authorities on the information in your life.
It's kinda hard to see otherwise.🙁

FYI, Artie is the older sibling. Some of her myths have her being born up to two days before Apollo and precociously helping Leto with childbirth. But since there's a lot of prejudice towards sons being superior to daughters, the rest of your theory tracks.

At the end of the chapter introducing Leto, after Artemis left they started talking about Persephone like she's Apollo's girlfriend and how they "going through a rough patch" Hate that but also Leto says, "how's my daughter in law" Like she's already made the choice that Persephone is going to marry Apollo. The worst part is, Apollo truly believes that with Hades, she's being corrupted by the Underworld and doing things she "normally wouldn't do" which is not true as we see Perse and Hades developing a loving relationship with consent and the freedom to talk to each other about problems they have.
And then another scary part, in the last few chapters when Demeter is talking to Hecate about her theory of a fertility goddess, we see it in motion when Leto is making plans of revenge against Zeus or maybe just Hera or both and it's making me scared ngl because I have no idea what's gonna happen next and how Apollo, Leto, and Artemis are gonna be handled.
Artemis was always to be the character who wasnt aware enough to figure it out herself, and no one told her anything.
I think back to the little meeting at hades where basically all Persephone's allies know she is unhappy and have to point it out to Artemis. That was the catalyst to a lot of Artemis's active role in the plot as once she knew there was a problem she tried to solve it her way, by hunting down the root cause Apollo.
Artemis will come out the other side one of Persephone's loudest defenders. Once more is public knowledge.

I think I like Artemis. She’s just trying to look out for Persephone. But what I don’t like is how oblivious she is to Apollo. She is so quick to judge Persephone’s relationship w Hades. But not her own brother when he makes Persephone so unhappy and uncomfortable. But at the same time, I get it. That’s her brother and it’s hard to accept that someone you’re closed to may be an awful person who deserves to ROT IN THE PITS OF TARTARUS!!!!!!! **cough**I got ahead of myself. But yeah, she’s getting manipulated in every way possible. And also, I think Leto and Zeus did the dirty and that’s why Leto is no longer Heras friend. Hence why she hates those kings because she thinks all they do is cheat and use women. Artemis is strong, she’s just trying to be a good friend. But I guess she should try to have an open mind when it comes to others. Not everyone is who they seem to be. Hades is the perfect guy for Persephone.
You made so many good points about Artemis not really having any close friends so it reflects that she might not know how to be a very good one to others. Also with the gaslighting, manipulative family and clear emotional abuse she also might not be able to recognize and see things other people might. I know that was the case for me. So I really hope we can see Artemis open her eyes to the truth and overcome her mother and brothers manipulations and lies so she can better herself and heal.
I never disliked Artemis. I would be constantly frustrated and annoyed that she wanted Persephone to get along with her brother while constantly misjudging Hades but I understand that it’s because she has a close relationship with her brother and was trying to look out for Persephone. Sometimes, the people who you love the most, are the ones who can hurt you the most and they turn out to be the ones you can trust the least. And because they’re family, it you don’t see it coming and it just kills you. After she got double teamed by her mother and brother with their gaslighting and manipulation, I felt sympathy for her. Her mother is emotionally abusive and seems to favor Apollo over Artemis. First she shamed her for getting emotional. Then she listens to his story but instead of listening to her daughter’s side of the story, she immediately shames her to believe her family instead of a goddess she’s just met, and uses the term “family” against her to dole out her guilt, question/doubt herself, and to make her give up. It just made me love and sympathize with her even more. I honestly know the feeling. It’s not pleasant. Leto shows the signs of a manipulative, gaslighting, emotional abuser and Artemis in this chapter showed the signs of emotional and psychological abuse. Instead of love being relationship oriented, this feels more like agenda oriented type of relationship between Artemis and her mother as Leto uses some tactics to gain control and power over her daughter while she coddles and dotes on Apollo. Sad part is, people being manipulated, gaslit, and abuse in some way are convinced that is “love” and are taught to see it that way. Like they were out of line and deserving of the shame and guilt and the people who “love” them are just correcting unacceptable behavior. But really, it’s the toxic kind of love that shows no care or respect for the recipients. This is why I have come to care for Artemis more than I did before. I wonder if there’s a god/goddess of psychology and therapy since there are so many characters in need of help and support.
In Artemis' s defence both Leto and Asspollo are pretty classic abusive manipulators gaslighting her.

1. He apologized fir his actions and Persephone is forgiving.
2. Eros told her his story of lost love, which created a bond between the two.
3. Besides that incident ,Eros has done nothing to show that he can't be trusted. He's been a loyal friend and confident to Persephone.

People hate Artemis? That's wierd because she is one of the best characters in the webtoon, and I think the character is awesome.
Artemis was by FAR my favourite character
seeing her receive so much hate was heart breaking, considering other gods like Zeus or Thanatos were still reasonably popular despite their very questionable decisions.
Of course Artemis would want to see the best in her brother, especially as it's mentioned she and Apollo were very close, and he was probably her best friend too.
Honestly she's been through some shit and doesn't deserve hate just because she had no context to the situation.
My main problem with her is how the hell does she notice that our beautiful spring child hates being treated like a show pony but can't tell that she doesn't like being around her brother. But then again it all stems from her being the sister of a golden child.

I don’t hate Arteries, though that might just be my bias. Growing up she was always my favorite Greek goddess, I loved her moon ascetic, her pseudo-asexuality, and her bada** huntress vibe, so I don’t think its possible for me to hate her. However I feel like she was done a pretty big disservice by the flow of the story. She’s pretty oblivious to basically everything that happens around her, including the fact that Athena was gay and Perse was hurting, but honestly I don’t think it’s entirely her fault. It does wear thin in the same way Minthe’s attitude does, not help by the fact that the story will start and stop plots at random. Idk it hasn’t gotten to me too badly yet, but I could see how others may have grown tired of it.

I feel annoyed with Artemis with how she treats Hades. I get why she would hate posidon and Zeus, but what is her problem with Hades? Is it just association with them?
I think there has been some sort of adversarial relationship set up between Olympians and Hades (or maybe the Underworld at a whole). Like Hades has said something about there being stigma attached to his role. It really hasn’t been explained but that’s the best I can figure.

I hate the way this comic makes Apollo, a god recognised as a symbol of bisexuality, a sexual abuser. It’s complete erasure and it makes me so upset that people don’t talk about it more.
Apollo is arguably one of the kinder gods in the myths, and he also has nothing to do with Persephone. I know SA is important topic to talk about, and I don’t want to invalidate anyone who feels seen by this comic. But I think mistakes were made here - Zeus would have been a better character to demonstrate this message, or Pirithous.
Also, the way it characterises Leto as a ‘boy mom’ when she loved both of her children equally in the myths is really sad. Then again, the way the comic characterises Demeter (who is arguably the hero in the actual myth) is also hugely inaccurate.
It feels like this comic has a history of demonising mothers and erasing lgbtqia+ rep, which is incredibly harmful. I think there are better retellings out there and I hope they get more attention.
Artemis is still my least favorite character. I don't tend to enjoy most of her chapters, but I understand her.
