    Oh my goodness, this is exactly the process I was attempting to figure out a few months ago (and I just happen upon it now haha). Thank you for making this!

    Alessandro firstly I want to thank you for creating this astounding addon. I am very fortunate to have learned this wonderful tool. I am running into a problem. I am on blender 2.837 and I running into a snag. I think it is important to mention that I am working with tissue 3.3.3 also and not the native one that comes in blender. The issue I am running into is from the getgo. When I create the base and branches and leaves. When I try to tessellate the base seems to shrink and is offset by mm. I tried rotating the root plane but it seems to just rotate around the main branch. I have determined that there is something modifying the scale of the overall tessellation and not keeping it at the exact same dimensions. I tested just the root plane and without the branches without the top leaves and it works. I run into the problem once I create those leaves and branches. That is when I run into an issue of the tessellation creating a shrinking effect. I recorded a video to show you. Maybe you can shed light on what this latest iteration of tissue is doing that I am not understanding. I will join your FB page and send you a video recording there, please be on the lookout for me there. I would appreciate what I need to do to make this work. Thanks Alessandro and once again I love this addon.

    By the way, you can just use dupliverts to place the metaballs at the vertex position to remesh the tree...

      A N F Yes, you are right, but the modifier is much more fast... I've tried with dupliverts but with many balls is too slow...

      This is an old video. Now Blender 2.83 have a remesh modifier that works with voxel mode. It's different though. You must give thickness to the lines before seeing the organic shape.

    • @AlessandroZomparelli
      @AlessandroZomparelli  4 роки тому +1

      Yes, but I suggest you to give a look to this newer video about branching: ua-cam.com/video/7Liv--XSaCg/v-deo.html Also, for render the animation there is now a specific operator "Tissue Render Animation" (you should use the latest development version and search it from the search panel). Unfortunately animatable tessellations don't works with "Render Animation" and blender crash, that's why a created a specific operator, that doesn't show the preview while rendering, but still save all the images of the frames.

      @@lostshun How did you make it work? I've been struggling for days and the result is always the same. The tesselation"root" is scaled down a bit and the itereations base connects to each leaf at the leaf, but because it's scaled down they don't connect. I hadn't done any twisting or scaling operations prior to tesselating and scaling either of the component objects can't make them meet either.

    I didn't get it... You tacitly use hotkeys, and expect people to be able to follow them...not everyone is as knowledgeable of the hotkeys, and what they do...if you want people to be able to follow your tutorials, try stating explicitly what you are doing at each step, and use the menus instead of the hotkeys.
    You move the cursor constantly, and some of the time that movement is important; but it is exceedingly difficult to know what are important movements... so you lose me with misdirection.
    Try slowing down... It is important to get to the point immediately, but to speak and move slowly and clearly if you want your videos easy to follow...
    look at it this way: these are advanced topics. You need to spend about 3x the time you do on them...this video should probably be 45 minutes to an hour...
    That is just my take.
    I think this add-on has lots of potential...and with the documentation this way, I don't see it catching on hugely.

    • @AlessandroZomparelli
      @AlessandroZomparelli  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Cnris, I will copy and past the same comment on facebook: in that tutorial you can see that I pressed the 'w' key and I chosed subdivide. If you are using Blender 2.80 you can just press the right mouse button in edit mode. Anyway, before going deeper on advanced workflows I suggest to focus more on basic modelling tools in Blender. It can be crucial, especially for understanding some advanced parameters. Also, branching systems with Tissue can be done also differently in Blender 2.80: ua-cam.com/video/7Liv--XSaCg/v-deo.html
      Also, most of my tutorials are made for advanced users, or at least for users that already know the modelling workflow in Blender and want to understand something more. This because I want to keep them shorter and specific. I understand that this can generate frustation if you miss something, but in that case consider to take some steps back, watching generic modelling tutorials. My aim making those videos is NOT "look how you can make exactely this object here", but more "check which new strategies and logics you can use for combine your 3D component on your meshes".

    • @johnny196775
      @johnny196775 4 роки тому

      @@AlessandroZomparelli The thing is, I understand what you are saying... I gave the wrong impression. I know basic modeling quite well, as I have been doing blender for years. What I meant was not the subdividing per se which was the problem; I can figure out you subdivided...however, it took me a few moments to figure that out..no big deal there...but when you multiply that by 50 or so, and add that some times it took me several minutes to figure out what you were doing but not stating, you will understand that I have spent 4 or 5 hours with this one tutorial figuring it out...
      If you just say "subdivide it" while you are subdividing it, then it is easier to follow by anyone.
      If you want to make this the sort of add-on that only you and your friends can use, by all means, don't communicate any better while creating tutorials... if you want a more general audience, tailor your tutorials to that...
      As for me, I will watch a few more, but I can't hardly spend the same time on them as I have this last one. If they are just as hard to follow, I suppose i may give up on this add-on.
      Best of luck with this.
      By the way, I have learned a lot about programming in the last 6 months or so since I started and the most valuable was the advice to write the manual before you write the software.

      @@johnny196775 This is NOT an addon for friends only. The documentation is really far to be completed, but it something that I have started, as you can see from the Tissue's wiki on Github: github.com/alessandro-zomparelli/tissue/wiki that must be updated and extended according to the latest changes in the addon, but it's there and contains some informations that can help figuring out how Tissue works. I'm trying to document the addon in my spare time, but the code as well is still a work in progress, and I'm waiting to reach a stable point in the development before focusing exclusively on the documentation. I am not really satisfied with the current documentation, I hope that in future it will be better. In the meanwhile, as usual, I'll be happy to help any Tissue users here, on Facebook or on Patreon.
