I've actually just recently come back to Astroneer, nice to see ya playing! Really is such a fun game. Didn't see any hoverboards or personal air generators in the footage, looks like you still have to see how good that endgame-ey stuff is. A couple QT-RTG's, jetpack, hoverboard and infinite air - whoo boy now you can go anywhere, and FAST
Yeah loved the hover board, I generally stop recording footage before I get to the late game as to not ruin things like that for my viewers.
@@PlayGames_PG Oh but it's such a game seller! I could totally imagine seeing video of flying down a cavern on the hoverboard being what sells me on the game. No, but totally get it and appreciate that. Cheers!
Looks like a fun science fiction game to jump into. Thanks for the usual quality. Hope you feel better :) rest all you need to
You're welcome, thank you for the support.
Looks interesting especially the cave exploration. Reminds me of the claustrophobic caving exploration videos on UA-cam.
I think exploring the planet crust is what made it for me, was really interesting.
I agree with the fonts, I wish they would not do that in any game. I am 45 years old and my eyes are having trouble reading on the screen when it's very small. Love the game, thanks for the review.
I think it is common with people who develop games on PC, they often sit on top of the monitor but fail to realise most people play games on a chair or soft that isn't on top of the monitor.
Thank you for the review!!!
No worries, thanks for watching and commenting.
I definitely agree especially when the music is all bright and cheerful WHEN I SPEND 4 HOURS STRANDED ON DESOLO (I have trauma from that)
I had to mute it after a while, great game though.
@@PlayGames_PG Lol same
This seems like a Live-Service-Game/Game-as-a-Service title. Can anyone confirm if it is or not please?
Not really, it's a survival / adventure type game. It is one of the best of it's kind, give it a try.
@@PlayGames_PG It looks like it could be fun, but I'm severely allergic to the Live-Service cancer the is plaguing the gaming industry. First thing for me is to make sure that it is not, then (this is going to give my age away) I have to also make sure that you can invert the Y-axis of the mouse (yes, I am indeed that old ;-)
Hello is there an endgame or story to work towards in this game? Or only building and exploring
There is a task driven type of progression, not so much a story in terms of classic adventure games but enough to justify what you're doing and it can be quite mysterious too.
@@PlayGames_PG thank you for your answer. The game looks kinda fun and i like the aesthetic but idk if i will play it because i do like games where theres at least a goal of sorts that you can feel like you finished the game at some point.
I’m a huge fan of Stardew and Terraria, will I enjoy this game?
I would say yes based on your tastes.
@@PlayGames_PG cool thx
Reminds me too much of a poor man's No Man's Sky. Hell, even the Outer Wilds. Good review though.
I played over 100 hours of No Man's Sky and the two are very different when you play them. No Man's Sky was more about space travel, Astroneer is more about colonising and exploring the few planets. Really enjoyed it! Thanks for watching.
More like Subnautica in space tbh.
This game proves that a game doesn't need combat to be good. Its relaxing, it's big, looks beautiful and lots to it. Also do materials respawn or dropped materials stay there forever?
Also how the fuck do you only have 15K?
Thanks for watching. I think with death and respawn items, when I reviewed it your backpack was there to be found, I played again the other day and I think it was only a few items from the backpack where you died. I think they just stay there but I've never gone to get some of my backpacks as they were in a hard to reach place.
15k has been hard work to achieve, I can only do my best and keep plugging away, thank you for the support.
I love space exploration but get so bored from nms. Yet astroneer totally immerses me. Idk why. I think it’s the constant running from sentinels when I just want to explore around and discover new things. Also the base building always frustrates me in nms.
I agree that Astroneer captures something unique about exploration and adventure that NMS didn't. I like both games but for me this one was a better game, there was something amazing about digging down to the core of the planet and when you got there it was mind bending!
@@PlayGames_PG yeah, the first time I played astroneer I made a tractor with a drill and rtg attached. I didn’t realize you could just fall into a giant cavern and got completely lost. I reached the core but had to let myself suffocate to get back to the surface. The whole experience was so surreal. I don’t get those moments in nms.
@@PlayGames_PG great channel btw, it’s only a matter of time before you blow up imo
Thank you!
No man’s sky or astroneer?
Astroneer.
I can't stand the controls. tried it on gamepass 3 times in the last few years. couldn't get past the terrrible tutorial and the stupid controls.
Bunner because it actually looks really fun :(
They can be a little time consuming to get the hang of, but it didn't stop me enjoying it. Thanks for watching.
You sound like that crab from Moana
Great
This game is my favourite
I can understand why.
Better than Starfield 👌🏾
Not a glowing accolade, but completely agree. This is the best sci-fi exploration game I've played, a great sense of adventure.
I agree
Man starfield was a good game . If it wasn’t for you cool !! Get over it
Stupid sheep..@@BROOKLYNBORN1994
@@BROOKLYNBORN1994shit was mid
Looks a lot like no man's sky
It sure does and there are some similarities in terms of play but it did feel quite different once you get into it. Thanks for watching.
It's completely different.
@@PlayGames_PGI'm considering to buy space themed game. Which one is less boring? Astroneer or No Man's Sky?
Astroneer is a more focused game when compared to No Man's Sky, like it feels as though you have more purpose. No Man's Sky has a larger scale but for me I'd go for Astroneer.
Can't imagine it would crash like shit like NMS on Switch, XB1, and XBSS
