Astroneer is definitely more fun the more you play it, but the start is definitely going to turn away a good bit of players. Not going to lie though, I could definitely see myself playing through it again with friends once I finish just to see how much faster I can get it done. WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK?

Visiting and activating all planets' cores and the Unidentified Satellite is indeed the goal of the game. But only in the sense that you get a cutscene and see the credits rolling. After that, you respawn at your home base and are free to continue playing.
There's also some lore which explains why your Astroneer is actually there. That story is revealed basically through three sets of missions, one of them only accessible quite late into the game, after finishing most of the other missions. To be precise: You have to complete all of the snails (Xenobiology) missions, all of the Rails missions, and the mission that wants you to make nanocarbon alloy.

After playing a bit more, this is definitely it. I haven't gotten quite far enough yet, but it makes sense. I am excited to get there though. Steep learning curve is tough for some but I genuinely love this game now.

I’m a 77 year old gamer and have been playing since 1967 when the Pong tv console came out. I believe Astroneer is the best game ever developed. I have over 6200 hours in Astroneer.

Once the "Chapter 2" update to survival finally drops, I would recommend Scrap Mechanic.

The Awakening Update- I'm not goanna spoil it, but there is a whole ton of lore towards the end, and you find out that everything is not how it seems to be...

I've played this game for years and it is one of my favorites, I have noticed that it is difficult for new players to understand I feel the game only becomes more enjoyable as time goes on with the constant free updates.

Absolutely. To be honest, after putting in another 15 or so hours, it feels much better. Taking a look at the steam achievements alone though, not a lot of people are putting enough time in to get there which is tough.

I love Astroneer... I play it when ever i want to have a chill and relaxing game. Already finish the game once and now im on my 2nd gameplay. With extra quality of life because i already know the one resource i need for not to grind anymore resources. Now im planning to make a large base on every planet 😊

I jumped into this game solo and blind, no wiki or guides. This game works because it challenges your ability to problem-solve and does not bombard you with enemies or time limits. It feels like a combination of No Man's Sky and Snowrunners. If you stick with it, it can be strangely addictive.

discovered this game with my 6 y.o., finished it week ago
the final missions are very cool and sad at the same time
we were very sad that the game was essentially over, we had to wait for updates with new tasks

Ive played 100s of hours in the game and have never actually completed it. In part because i want to have the perfect base before finishing everything. Im on my 5th build and finally feel like this us the one.... As soon as I finish building my advanced resouce plant using xl A platforms. I appreciate the game doesnt force you to do anything that you dont want to do to get 95% of tech/structures. Also fyi to any beginner try to automate building common items using auto arms and sensors as soon as you can. Saves alot of time and orevents you from just standing around waiting for a print to finish.

I got this game when it first came out, I still love it. Now, with over 1200 hours I still play it but I like being able to make it customized. Sometimes more challenging , sometimes just a relaxing easy game. I do like the events that go one each year. This is still a favorite of mine.

There's no fpv for the vehicle ls which makes operating the drills annoying, especially when the back has a couple of extra large storages on the back

awesome video, great content, there's only one thing that I've never really understood... someone explain to me why terraria is considered a survival game except for the steam store tag.

Somehow the final snail cutscenes had me CRYING. Like actually. No joke I have no clue why other than cuteness. 😂
Perhaps it's the atmosphere, but this game, while minimally expressive in themes, is actually pretty emotional.

My #1 complaint with Astroneer is too many things to do. Ever since they added missions, I just feel overwhelmed with options within 10 minutes of starting a new save. Most of the time I just ignore them, as they don't present fantastic rewards, and are often annoyingly out of order.

I just started playing it a few days ago. I am at the ;point where I just built the tractor. The game tutorial is almost non - existent and I was close to returning the game to Gamefly. After learning some stuff through UA-cam videos the game became much more fun but I only have 4 hours in so far.

I have 75 hours in astronomer turn it into seconds that’s 270000 divide it by the price I bought it at (discounted price),16 dollars, and that’s 16875.I spend a dollar every 16875 seconds, and to be that is worth it

That’s more than 4 and a half of pure enjoyment, exploration, and most importantly AUTOMATION,I feel like I’m on a crazed frenzy to craft and advance the game via automation,it is what I enjoy most in the game along with its other very enticing features, and mechanics.
