I read about this and the article made it seem much worse than what happened.
She hit the ball at a slow pace. So huh ? What the heck ❕❕❕❕❕🧐
My 4 year old can cry too
I am under shock. How this can happen in grand slam ? What a disgrace for the organizators who picked up that girl, clearly this is not her job. She can enjoy tennis in TV and stop being a match disruptor. What a disgrace also for the supervisor, who took such terrible decision after having some time for the assessment. Shame on Marie and Sara who took advantage of such unfortunate situation. The incompetence makes me crazy , I hope those decisions will have some consequences afterwards
Shame on Sorribes Tormo and Bouzkova! You win by such a low way!
Only devils can attack Bouzkova and Tormo. THEY did NOTHING wrong , insane devil.

This is ridiculous. Shame on opposing players and the judges.
The umpire has to take ultimate responsibility since he has the power to disqualify. With great power comes great reponsibility and the umpire failed in this case. Not sure what he was thinking but I'm guessing he was swayed by the tears fom the ballgirl. Her crying like that is another separate issue.
such a bad call to disqualified Kato. very obvious Kato did not mean it and clearly not like out of her emotional hitting the ball. RG should train / brief ball girls/boys again there always be risks. And shame on the opponents for asking a default.
This is a clear discrimination to humble and polite Asian players, how else could the out come explained? She did not hit the ball in anger nor venting a frustration, just lightly sent the ball over to the other side, simply because the weak and immature ball girl showed a tear, the career of two top players destroyed by dirty opponents and weak officials. I will never watch “French Open” again. It’s new name is “ French Close”!
Congrats Kato & Puertz for winning the mix double 🎉💥
Sério isso? A bola nem bateu no peito da garota e sim nas costas. Mas é ridículo a dupla serem desclassificadas por isso. E ainda mais ridículo a dupla adversária pedir a desclassificação de suas oponentes.

How disgraceful. I always liked Bouzkova, but I will no longer root for her. As for Sorribes Tormo, I've never been a fan of hers because of her loud grunt, but she is now officially one of my least favorite players.

She was disqualified for that? It wasn't anything malicious and the ball wasn't hit with a lot of force. This is a joke.
Shame on Bouzkova/Sorribes Tormo!! Getting involved, asking for a default despite not seeing what happened is really embarrassing. Pretty damning situation for Bouzkova, who had a clean "nice player" image. Not so nice after all, I guess.
Kato should not get away with it and should have paid more attention
Paid more attention? She did the normal thing in returning the ball. She wasn't aiming at the ball girl, but returning it to the end so the ball girl could collect it. Nor was she hitting it out of anger...
@@bone9jdjkaye with too much power
@blue red screen hence the warning. If it was done out of anger, or an unnecessary dangerous action then it'd be DQ. But this, accidentally overestimating power, is not any deliberate action. They would have got warning if other players didn't gleefully push for the default as they were afraid to lose.
@@blue_red_screen you never been a ball person. It comes with job. If she wants to cry its fine. If she’s hurt they can just change the ballgirl. Its really not big of a deal. Just shameless from the opponent trying to get a free win. Well thats women in sports in general. Only drama sells.
Kato didn’t meant it, the girl was crying because she was shocked, it was all fine till Bouzkova and Tormo provoke the referee
Afraid to be a loser... but they are loser already infact. Also Quit the referee... racism.. cant believe it happened at Rolland Garros
0:11 : Yes. They provoked the refree & earned an unethical point. They should be ashamed of themselves.
Indeed.... Just caught the ball girl off guard! Which im sure she didnt know if it was intentional or not. Obviously she is a little bit on the sensitive side. WHICH IS OK!!! BUT - as we can tell from the cameras - it was NOT INTENTIONAL AT ALL!!! Coward opponents.

The umpire actually claims that disqualification is justified if you hit someone with a ball... and they are 'injured'. No way did that gentle tap on the shoulder from the ball 'injure' that girl. Absolutely ridiculous and a disgraceful response from the officials and the opposing team. The pathetic over-reaction from that ball girl clearly did not help matters and simply shows that she should never have been on court in the first place. Utterly disgusted by it all.
Pathetic is right, but this is what this world has come to. Pain and injury doesn't have to be physical can now apply to mental as well. She was clearly in some mentally anguished state seen from the tears she was shedding. I just refuse to believe the ball hitting her caused that. But there's nothing in the rulebook that says the injury has to be physical. Soft kids gets you soft mental state.
Ball girl seemed like she was more embarrassed than injured. It was just a tap as you can see.
Racist tramps
@@genso3065 well those French Open organizers should have trained the ball kids better. But in any case, the ball girl should not be blamed as being done by the mad dogs in this comment section; the adults make the decisions not her.
@@angryjalapeno I think you tagged the wrong person...
It was an absolutely ridiculous decision:
1. It's crystal clear that Ms. Kato has no bad intention to hit the girl with the ball. And the ball travel at very slow pace.
2. The ball hit the back of the girl. (Shoulder blade), then she crying and rubbing her chest.
3.The ball boy/ girl must perform rigorous drills that test court awareness, agility and the ability to roll, catch and toss a tennis ball.
Her intention is irrelevant, just like a puck-out in hockey renders a 2 min penalty regardless of intent. The same goes for a football player who misses the ball and trips an opponent inside the penalty area.
However, since you brought up intent, to me it seems like Kato is aiming in the ball girl's direction, even though the latter is focused on the player that is about to serve and is not ready to receive the incoming ball.
She must’ve been a token selection
drills lol aint no time for that, thus explained some mediocrity
@@Snowkobbie kato just wanted to send the ball back to the ball girl
@@Snowkobbie and on your both examples, the hockey player and the football player don't get disqualified. Bad example.
No wonder there were so many empty seats during the whole tournament. The management of Roland Garros should apologize to the players and the whole world. Is this what a Grand Slam tournament should look like? Disgusting and disgraceful.
I just can't believe what has just unfolded here! Ball hits the ballgirl accidentally and the ump kicks out the doubles team? You kidding me?
Amelie Mauresmo should be fired.
Justice for Aldila & Kato. It wasn't intentional. They should not have been defaulted. Federer and Nadal have hit ballkids unintentionally and they were never defaulted. Where is "rules are rules"? And to Bouzkova and Sorribes Tormo, absolutely disgraceful for pushing to default your opponents.
What about Nole?????
@@zagaaaaable it's unfair.
@@zagaaaaable it happend to Novak at the US Open i think in 2020. He unintentially hit a lines woman and got disqualified. When one looks at that scene it is almost like this one. But the american held her throat and
made a fuss. Looking back at that video, it shows clearly he did not hit hard and the ball touched her
shoulder, not her throat. But at that time, they wanted Novak out and it worked.
players “shall not violently, dangerously or with anger hit, kick or throw a tennis ball within the precincts of the tournament site except in the reasonable pursuit of a point during a match (including warm-up)”. That's the rule. Obviously in this case it wasn't violently hit or done with anger. That only leaves dangerously. I guess an argument can be made that she should have looked before hitting the ball and if she had she would have seen the ball girl's hands were full. To me a warning was sufficient here because she didn't hit the ball very hard and there was clearly zero intent for this to happen. It was just negligence.
@@juttaweise it's pretty much the same case as for Djoko. If he got defaulted, so should they.
What value is there in a sport where you can win if you criticize your opponent? "It's ridiculous. This is a farce."
Tennis players: never retrieve/return the balls from now on, let umpires or referees or tournament supervisors picking up the balls from now on
The umpire's behavior Is absolutely shocking. He is either incompetent or dishonest.
Probably both
Typical behavior of their skin color
Kato was just passing the ball to the ball girl expecting the ball girl to catch it, like how Roger does it all the time…
It’s awesome how tennis players pass the ball to the ball kids to catch, it’s quite entertaining when the ball kids make a great catch
Yea expecting her to catch it when her hands were CLEARLY full with other tennis balls. The problem was Kato was negligent and didn't bother looking first. The girl didn't have a free hand. Not saying she should have been disqualified but lets not pretend she wasn't at the very least negligent here.
@@GG-tb4ru Huh? She hit the ball at someone whose hands were full because she wasn't paying attention. Stop making excuses and trying to blame a little girl. Also there was a ball boy right there trying to get the ball. It isn't the player's job to pass balls to the ball people.
