I was expecting Roberto Carlos to be #1, but I didn't expect it to be this goal... I thought it was going to be that amazing full blast running kick he did almost at the corner of the field right at the line that curved into the goal. That for me is #1 of all time.
I'll tell you right now.... it is mainly because of the run up before he kicked it as thats what truly makes the shot count and was beyond perfect and i've been playing football since i was 9 amateur hasnt yet turned pro.

That last goal..... The distance from where he came.... Amazing how someone is able to judge the distance exactly right to end up in such a way to deliver a powerful kick and have the ball travel exactly where it should go. I mean: I have tried it myself obviously, as we all did. Placing the ball somewhere on the field. Backing up to create a lot of distance. And GO! And somehow i always end up with the wrong foot at the ball..... I am a right foot kinda guy, and i always end up with the left foot being the one that should kick the ball. Or, i am able to use my right foot, but i am either just a bit too far away or i am too close to the ball to deliver a really good kick.... That goal, seeing how the player approached the ball from great distance and delivering the exact amount of power and control/angle/input, it is just amazing.
if a pro player can explain how to judge such a distance the right way..... how to know with which foot to start the approach.... etc etc..... it would be much appreciated. Unable to figure it out. I tried putting the ball down on a spot, and backing up with controlled steps. Counting them. And i still end up in a wrong position when i go for the kick. Surely there is some way of knowing how to approach this problem, right>?

He tried this in game probably hundred times, it went in like this only once, and he tried it in practice probably 10 or hundred thousand times and it goes in like this once in a lifetime. Maybe If he was judging distance better, counting steps like some players, maybe he would have scored more goals from free kicks than he did, who knows. But on this one, for sure everything turned out to be perfect :)

@@AlineejacsonTreinava nada, não tinha redes sociais nem a facilidade dos meios de comunicação de hj em dia mas os jogadores faziam as mesmas coisas (festas, putąria, bebida e etc), acontece que nós não ficávamos sabendo, sabemos hj em dia porque os jogadores contam depois de aposentados hahaha. O jogador brasileiro sempre foi indisciplinado e festeiro, jogavam de ressaca e dava boa porque o futebol era menos equilibrado, hj como todos os países evoluíram no seu futebol, já não dá mais boa jogar de ressaca mas os brasileiros insistem nisso.

Nelinho, grande jogador e que tinha chutes muito potentes e cheios de "veneno". Faltou aí nessa seleção o gol dele contra o Bahia na Fonte Nova aonde o jogo terminou 2 x 2 - Uma falta esquinada com barreira e tudo e ele conseguiu colocar a bola no cantinho de Luiz Antônio.
