A U2 show is a big ole production. Very high-quality. I’ve been to three and, while I love their studio music, they are one of the bands I definitely prefer live. They’re great performers and there’s just something about the vibe of their concerts makes you feel good.

I was at these two shows (balcony behind the stage). Bono was actually pretty sick from their last shows. They combined the two shows into one DVD to get the best take of each song from both nights. He pushed through, for sure. They seem to dig deep for Boston shows. React to "The Fly" from this DVD when you can. Maybe their best version live.
I took 2 disposable cameras to a concert earlier this year and I love how they turned it out! I wasn't even in the pit. It's been ages since I've used one and underestimated how much light they need.
I had a camera for this tour. But I was given permission by the publicist as I was photographing the show for a media company. I was in the pit, so I got some great images. The first time I saw U2 was in 1985 and many times after that, photographing them on 2 separate tours. Phenomenal experience that night in front of the humanity of people, as well as every time I saw them!! Highly recommend reacting to their live performances of Pride, and Where The Streets Have No Name!!
You guys need to watch U2 live in slane castle all" I want is you" where the streets have no name 90,000 fans U2 back home it was days after Bono's father passing and he continued with the gig it was amazing show the government had to pass step in to allow a second gig due to the first one sold out in 15 mins
This is a letter I wrote to U2 from back in 1987 on The Joshua Tree Tour: Enjoy! I saw you guys on the Joshua Tree tour in 1987 at MTSU-Middle Tennessee State University Saturday November 28th 1987. The Bodeans opened up for you. I remember at the time Larry had a crush on Wynonna Judd and she came out and sang a duo with Bono! I didn't have tickets to the show. A friend of mine drove us 3 hours from East Tennessee to see the show. We bought tickets at the box office for $18.50. We ended up 8th row center stage! I remember back then the band held back tickets for fans who were willing to make the drive and couldn't get tickets via phone or record store locations. Thanks again to Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr for making a special album and tour! I was 18 and had just graduated High School that year! All the Best! Gary Lagstrom
Yeah U2 is awesome I've seen them live a couple times those are special glasses he has glaucoma so that's why he wears glasses day and night they're specially made for him
We've done New Year's Day with Jon and Dolly, but we haven't done Sunday Bloody Sunday yet. Definitely a fantastic choice. I've used up my December request budget already, so it will have to wait until the new year... lol. I will say, though, that With Or Without You from Boston is in the queue...
For an irish band playing in Boston USA is like a home gig given the vast numbers of irish living there! I live part time in Boston England where the pilgrims originally set sail for the new world but were captured a few miles down river
Back in the 80’s and 90’s this band was referred to as the band who will save the world. No shit. This song was big when my son was born. This is his song as far as I am concerned.
Gotta go full circle now, watch their 2002 Super Bowl performance. It is without a doubt the vest performance, not just their music, but how they honored the 9/11 victims.
I was at that concert in Sydney, 2nd row, right in front of Bono. I was only 16 years old and we camped out for two days lining up. Such a great concert 😊

@@_Dei_ that’s funny. We went to both nights. We lined up all day Friday, went in and saw the first show where Adam didn’t play and his tech stood in then came straight back out to the line for the Saturday night. Fun times as a teenager with good mates who were all U2 obsessed

He does have glaucoma and wears shaded glasses more as time passed. But for this concert the glasses also had a POV camera they used for the video release as well. See the performance of Elevation from this concert and there is a few shots with that woven in.
I hate Bono because of his intrusive political views, but I love U2... One of the first vinyl records I bought was their album Boy and I have never missed a single U2 album. A real band that knows how to play and make good music

If you want an absolutely amazing performance, check out Sunday Bloody Sunday at Live Aid or Bad at Red Rocks. They are iconic performances.

I think Bono has an eye issue that's why he wears the glasses even a night, also one of the best drummers i have seen is Adam Clayton
Yeah he is glaucoma. Larry is the drummer, Adam is the bassist.
He only wears them during 3 songs at this concert and during a lot of shows on the elevation tour.
