U2: "Still haven't found what I'm looking for" This is my own favorite U2 song. U2 is known for their stage productions, unforgettable stadium concerts.
The song was written in Ethiopia where the streets realy don´t have names or didn´t have in that time and he was there with his wife helping with the big famine because Europe had sent there its vegetable and so on and they didn´t know how to eat it. So Bono and his wife taught them this and some other things. www.worldvision.org/hunger-news-stories/30-years-ago-u2-bono-visited-ethiopia
U2 are willing to bare their soul to the world. They are so genuine and believable. They also happen to be brilliant live. It is almost spiritual to be part of their live gigs. That is why they have such a massive fan base.
You are correct in that Bono (the lead singer) was calling out to someone. His father, Bob, passed a few days before their string of concerts at Slane Castle. In fact, he was buried the day before the first show. This is why this show has particular meaning for the band and their fans. I recommend "Kite" from the same show. Great reactions BTW.
Such a good gig. Bono sheds a tear at the end of kite. I think bono and his father had a strained relationship, they drifted apart when Bono’s mum died. Bono was only 14 I think. He wrote ‘I will follow’ which everyone thinks is a real punk rock song, it’s actually a suicidal song about bono wanted to follow his mum into death.

India, look at that crowd again. That's 160 thousand people right there at Slane Castle. Imagine that. Now realise you have 190 thousand subscribers. That's 30k more. Mind blown yet?
So Bono is a born again Christian. He was moved while touring Africa that some places had no street names. He lamented how the name of the street that you live on tells people where you stand in society. The streets become literal racial divides in some cities. When I lived in NYC, we were told that 100th street was the line. That to go any farther meant to get into bad neighborhoods. Truth be told, some of my best friends lived well into the 120s and my parents would have flipped if they had known I went up that far to see my friends. He also references heaven in the song as a place where the streets have no names. There is no division or class system in heaven, only unity for all believers. He talked about this at a concert one time and said that He cannot wait to see the banquet in heaven with people of all nationalities sitting together in harmony. I think this is why so many people want that so badly in our world today, it just feels like a glimpse into heaven. I find great hope in that one day something as silly as skin color will no longer divide people. And I think it is why racism feels so gross, it feels like running the opposite way of the direction that we are all supposed to be headed in. Anyway that is my two cents and some insight into Bono.
Just one if the biggest bands that ever existed. Dude has pipes for days...weeks. Check out Bad from Live Aid or Bullet the Blue Sky, my favorite U2 song.
My favorite U2 song. I remember they performed this in the Super Bowl halftime show after the Sept. 11 terrorist attack. The song is about the Protestant (Church of England) / Catholic divisions in Northern Ireland. While recording this album ("The Joshua Tree") the studio engineer became so frustrated that he almost erased this song before it was finished, because they had spent a week trying to get it right. What a shame if he had, as this is one of their most iconic songs.
You missed their best album! Achtung Baby. Early U2 - I will Follow, Out of Control, Electric Co, Gloria, New Years Day, Drowning Man, Mid - With or Without You, Exit, One Tree Hill, A sort of Homecoming, The Unforgettable Fire, Pride, All I Want is You, Later Mid - The entire Achtung Baby album, Stay, Lemon, Dirty Day, The Wanderer, Kite, Beautiful Day, Vertigo, City of Blinding Lights Later - Magnificent, No Line On The Horizon, Cedars of Lebanon, Every Breaking Wave, The Troubles, Raised by Wolves, Sleep Like a Baby tonight, Red Flag Day, Summer of Lover
My favorite U2 song is "New Year's Day" although "Bullet the Blue Sky" off of Rattle & Hum ranks up there too! "In God's Country" is another great song off of the Joshua Tree album. I've seen them in concert twice, first on the Unforgettable Fire tour, then on the Joshua Tree tour. Best ever!
Honey, that crowd was just for them. They are my favorite band of all time. I have seen them twice in concert, & that's not enough...I want to go again & again! The love & acceptance that radiates in their live performances is off-the-charts.
They're going to become you're favorite band. You can go 40 years back and see how they caught the imagination of an eighth-grader with "I Will Follow" and "Gloria," songs like I'd never heard in my life, all the way to present day. Same four guys the whole way. The opening to this video gave me goose bumps and I've been listening to them forever. Please go down this rabbit hole. You'll love it.
@@langdale55 I've never heard that story in 35 years and I'm sure that you will never find anybody but yourself that says that. “An interesting story that someone told me once is that in Belfast, by what street someone lives on you can tell not only their religion but tell how much money they’re making,” Bono said in 1987

They’ve won a ton of grammies and have been inducted in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. They’re from Dublin, Ireland. This show was from the “Elevation” tour in 2000-2001. The venue, Slane Castle, is in Ireland. So it was basically a hometown crowd but they are a really huge band. I’ve seen them live six times. It’s always a great show. That catwalk was in the shape of a heart. It was part of the Elevation Tour stage. The band’s name has no real meaning and the band actually hates it. They were teenagers when they picked it and now they’re 60ish and they’re stuck with it. 😂 Four guys making music together for 44 years. No breakups, no lineup changes, nothing. Same four guys. They released their fourteenth studio album a couple years ago.

U2, when in the pocket while performing a song is almost spiritual in its nature. The lyric, the song/sounds, performance and stage atmosphere is IMO... "Electrified!!" this song you just reacted to and "With or Without You" (both performed at this concert) simply give you the sensation that Bono and the band are sharing their very soul with its audience. ~"AWESOME BAND!!"
I have lost count of the U-2 concerts I have gone to. Never have I been disappointed. It’s and experience. Walk On Kite One Pride City of Blinding Lights The song list is endless.
I love U2, Amazing group. Thank You for being open and exploring their music. You needed to watch their movie Rattle and Hum and you get the magic of their music. Very talented group.
They had come up with a shortlist of six names. U2 was the name they hated the least. U2 comes from the U-2 spy plane which was in the news a lot around that time period. My favorite band in the world. I love all kinds of music but I have seen U2 dozens of times and they are my favorite live band. They always put on amazing shows. Yes, he was crying out for his father who passed away prior to this show, maybe a week or more before. Great reaction, thank you for entertaining us during these Crazy times. 😁
U2’s live performances from the “Rattle and Hum” album are quality. Also, their Live-Aid performance. Bono and the boys get major respect for saving someone in the front row, and ad-libbing the majority of their play time.
I’ve seen these guys 3 times-they put on a fantastic show. Impossible to pick a favorite song, but “One” is high up there. This song is definitely the most fun in concert. Everyone just goes nuts.

it's basically impossible to do justice to their catalog with a few recommendations. I can name no less than 40 songs worthy of attention but...well... Anyway, by album name- War: Young U2 just hit it big - "Sunday Bloody Sunday" (about real life events during The Troubles in Northern Ireland) The Unforgettable Fire: Next album - The one the play on the radio is Pride, about MLK, but the real gem is "Bad" about a friend who died of a drug overdose Joshua Tree: considered the best album if their 80's work, "With or Without You" and "I Still haven't Found What I'm Looking For" are both powerful Rattle & Hum: like the previous album, so much goodness, but for a change of pace how about "Angel of Harlem" (about Billie Holiday and her world) Achtung Baby: many call this their very best album, "One" is maybe the best song ever but "Until the End of the World" (at least) is also remarkable (skipping a couple of lesser albums) All That You Can't Leave Behind: my personal fave here is "Walk On" but "Beautiful Day" and "Stuck in a Moment" are both excellent That's 10 so I'll stop except one other thing you might find interesting - there's a video out there of a live performance of "Miss Sarajevo" with Luciano Pavarotti that's pretty great.
Yikes! Skipping Zooropa and POP! sigh. All That You Can't leave... Is my least favorite album, ok, second least. POP and Zooropa are both outstanding. I would say, go and listen again without any preconceived notions. POP is actually one of their more political albums (Staring at the Sun, Please) Gone is a classic, Do You Feel Loved is just flat out amazing, Wake up Dead man, about doubting one's faith. And Zooropa is just intensely deep and profoundly creative. Really the greatest creative time for the band 91-97.
'Bob' was/is his father, who he buried that day. I was at this concert. It was in Dublin ireland & I'm Irish too & a life long fan off U2. Where the streets have no name, as u2 say, is a song that when they play it, it makes them feel, that Gods just walked into the room. There is even references to the book of Isaiah in the song 'love turns to dust'. Sorry, to be biblical geeky there, but they do draw there fish in the sand, so to speak, & have publically said that they do. You def should check out The Voices of freedom (Harlem gospel choir) & U2 singing But I Still Havent Found What I Am Looking For from their Rattle & Hum tour (the one in the Harlem Church). Your jaw WILL DROP... subscribed! Thanks for great videos young Lady & hello from Ireland. Stay Safe ;-)
I saw U2 on this tour and 2 others. Absolutely incredible every time. Others have already explained about this song, so I will just request “Bad” from their Live Aid set. Also “Love Rescue Me” from their groundbreaking 1988 concert film “Rattle and Hum.” And “Pride.” I’ll resist going on & on! Just want to add that I love that pink in the background of your room. It really makes you glow even more than usual! 💕
I love how you are so in touch with the emotional core of these performances! One of my all-time favorite vids is Mysterious Ways from ZooTV Live in Sydney. Highly recommended.
I’m so so glad you’re reacting to them. A big catalog to go through. Their are an album band, meaning that each series of songs is cohesive and unique. Songs I recommend Sunday Bloody Sunday (very relevant to today) With or Without You Bullet the Blue Sky (Live from Rattle & Hum) One Mysterious Ways In the Name of Love (MLK song) Have fun!
Best anthem song out there! The song right before this one (live) All I Want is You is another good one. LOVE LOVE this album and the ones before this one.
This was another amazing U2 concert. I saw this in Seattle, but my sons bought me the Shane Castle dvd. I would loved to have been there! I’ve seen U2 three times, they never disappoint❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@carlgrant9785 I used to play it on guitar when I was younger, and there is just so much pent up emotion. It was one of my favorites. My favorite off the Joshua Tree is One Tree Hill... but honestly, I love the album from start to finish.
It was just them! This song is about Heaven (where the streets have no name) to me, but there are other theories. And he was calling to his father, who’d passed away right before this concert. Their Super Bowl halftime show is considered the best one....worth a reaction! Also, “Walk On” is one of my favorites, written about a woman being held in jail for her beliefs. “Desire”...”Pride”...”When Love Comes to Town”...”Bad”....”Kite”....too many to write down!
I saw U2 when they were an opening act. I saw them at Red Rocks (awesome video) and 3 more times. TRUE STORY! We were waiting in line to buy their tickets for A St Patrick's day show in Denver and the computers crashed and we had been waiting for hours already. So you know what they did? They bought pizza for everybody in line it was courtesy of them. Rockstars don't do that but U2 does. My favorite Pride In The Name of Love. It's dedicated to Martin Luther King. I also love The Unforgettable Fire.
THIS! This is my absolute favorite U2 song ever and I am a big fan for nearly 30 years now. This concert is a only U2 concert that means all people are just there for them. Bono's dad past away directly before this concert, you can see it in his passion while singing and in the love the fan's gave back to him . The best Version of this song for me, brings me to tears and gives me chills every time I see it. You should also check out a version of the U2 songs "Bad" and "Pride" if you have the time. Intense songs with great lyriks.
Bad from Live Aid is the performance that brought them to a world audience. Moment Of Surrender from the 360 tour is a stand out. God Part II from Sydney Australia is another excellent performance.
Bono, the lead singer, had lost his father (Bob) about a week before this performance. His father was an amateur opera singer. He was definitely calling out to him. He made a few mentions of his father throughout that show.
This was filmed the week that Bono's (lead singer) father passed. He was calling for his dad, Bob. "One" and "Kite" from this same concert are also amazing.
U2 came home to Ireland!! Wish I could have been there!! They are known for their live performances. This song was written specifically to play live! U2 is an amazing band who have always been deeply political and socially conscious on inclusion, equal rights, climate, etc etc. Bono believes music can tear down the walls and tear off the labels that divide us. This song is about living in a world where there is no division...A place Where The Streets Have No Name. Pretty powerful!
How did Bono run around and belt out that intro and not only not faint, but continue with perfect pitch and passion? Bono really has a spectacular voice.
P.S would love if you followed up with one of their early hits that made them famous but done live at the Wembley arena in 1985 as part of live aid concert for Africa...song Sunday Bloody Sunday Live Aid 1985...that was a crowd reacting
I have felt that some of their songs held a religious theme. That's what I feel. And their songs you want to hear LOUD and feel it take over your soul. Deep!❤️🥰
The stage was Heart shaped. Bob was his dad who passed away a few days earlier. The song was about the time he spent in Africa. U2 was a part of LIVE AID for africa in 85. It also has a feel of Heaven. He used the part of no sorrow or pain to the version of this song.
Their Super Bowl performance of this song is heartbreaking too. They were the halftime act at the first Super Bowl post 9/11. They had all of the names of those lost projected above them 💜💜
Hey India..... This song was popular right after I moved away from where I grew up. I know no one; I didn't know where stores were; I didn't know where the job that I was to find was and I knew none of the streets. I played this all of the time. Thanks for your reaction.... Enjoyed it. Take care and be well. Peace.
The song he is singing in the beginning of the song "All I want is you" Bono dedicated to his wife and his father Bob passed a week before this homecoming performance in Ireland. If you watch this whole video through it's an Amazing transition between songs. Very emotional amazing performance
Was at this, a great concert nothing like U2 on home soil and outdoors, really give it more... from the moment you get on the concert bus until getting home a real buzz and memories to keep Other song suggestions: Clannad, Bono - In a Lifetime U2 related ...
I've had the pleasure of seeing U2 five times over the years, and sometimes Bono would hit just one note that was worth the price of admission. Bono had just lost his father a few days before this concert, and yes, he was singing from the bottom of his soul for his father.
The Joshua Tree is a MASTERPIECE. This concert film is definitely one of their best along with Rattle & Hum, but that's also part documentary. Bono has an amazing voice. Quite arguably the greatest Irish band of all time. Check out Bad @ Live Aid 1985.
Another great live U2 performance was them playing their song Bad at the Live Aid concert. It was the performance that made them international superstars.
You got to see BAD, unforgettable fire album, either the updated version or the 1985 live aid concert. Two of the best live performance by my favorite band U2.
I was at this gig. 10 feet from Bono. He had just buried his father. This was his release. Unreal gig. Never to be repeated.
There was something special in the air that night for sure.
I was at Wembley when Bono heard his dad had passed and they said they were still going on . Not a dry eye during Kite.
People hear this song and don't know what that was about. His release......
I was there too
On your shoulders
I never got to thank you

attending a U2 concert and witnessing that song as well as Pride (In The Name Of Love) is moving. You may wanna react to that song about MLK
it's basically impossible to do justice to their catalog with a few recommendations. I can name no less than 40 songs worthy of attention but...well...
Anyway, by album name-
War: Young U2 just hit it big - "Sunday Bloody Sunday" (about real life events during The Troubles in Northern Ireland)
The Unforgettable Fire: Next album - The one the play on the radio is Pride, about MLK, but the real gem is "Bad" about a friend who died of a drug overdose
Joshua Tree: considered the best album if their 80's work, "With or Without You" and "I Still haven't Found What I'm Looking For" are both powerful
Rattle & Hum: like the previous album, so much goodness, but for a change of pace how about "Angel of Harlem" (about Billie Holiday and her world)
Achtung Baby: many call this their very best album, "One" is maybe the best song ever but "Until the End of the World" (at least) is also remarkable
(skipping a couple of lesser albums)
All That You Can't Leave Behind: my personal fave here is "Walk On" but "Beautiful Day" and "Stuck in a Moment" are both excellent
That's 10 so I'll stop except one other thing you might find interesting - there's a video out there of a live performance of "Miss Sarajevo" with Luciano Pavarotti that's pretty great.
@@nianfiedler5291 I do like Staring at the Sun quite a bit.
I love U2. For me ,I have three U2 Favourites, "With Or Without You", "New Years Day", and "Where The Streets Have No Name"
Thanks for reacting! I really like them! This was an awesome live performance.
I have the Slane dvd. It's one of their best shows. I still get goosebumps and tears in my eyes from this performance of Streets.
Sunday Bloody Sunday is one of my favourites
The album was influenced by a tour that took the band through the South Western U.S.
Joshua Tree is an indigenous plant of that area.
This is my absolute favorite live performance of ANY song by ANY artists EVER. It’s UNREAL. Music at its finest.
I love how you are so in touch with the emotional core of these performances! One of my all-time favorite vids is Mysterious Ways from ZooTV Live in Sydney. Highly recommended.
First time seeing your reaction channel. You're so honest and thoughtful and beautiful...cute reactions to the vid moments. Nice work!
I’m so so glad you’re reacting to them. A big catalog to go through. Their are an album band, meaning that each series of songs is cohesive and unique. Songs I recommend
Sunday Bloody Sunday (very relevant to today)
With or Without You
Bullet the Blue Sky (Live from Rattle & Hum)
One
Mysterious Ways
In the Name of Love (MLK song)
Have fun!
Their concerts always look so amazing I'd love to see them live one day.
Another great live performance is Peter Gabriel "In Your Eyes" Secret World Live
my fav is i still haven't found what i'm looking for brilliant track. loved your review of this one.
Best anthem song out there! The song right before this one (live) All I Want is You is another good one. LOVE LOVE this album and the ones before this one.
This song was meant to be heard and seen live!!!! YOU DID THE REACTION SO MUCH JUSTICE THANK YOU:) the greatest pop rock band of all time imo
This was another amazing U2 concert. I saw this in Seattle, but my sons bought me the Shane Castle dvd. I would loved to have been there! I’ve seen U2 three times, they never disappoint❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Re U2: you should check out their song "Running to Stand Still" from Zoo TV live from Sydney.
Yes - great song!
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
@@RinniePere As corny as it may sound, it being a sad song anyway, the part where he starts singing "Hallelujah" is amazing and very moving to me.
@@carlgrant9785 I used to play it on guitar when I was younger, and there is just so much pent up emotion. It was one of my favorites. My favorite off the Joshua Tree is One Tree Hill... but honestly, I love the album from start to finish.
@@RinniePere yes, it's an excellent album. Best wishes to you.
I love U2 and this album is incredible. I saw them in concert twice and it was mind blowing.
Its about northern Ireland and 5he troubles
I saw U2 when they were an opening act. I saw them at Red Rocks (awesome video) and 3 more times. TRUE STORY! We were waiting in line to buy their tickets for A St Patrick's day show in Denver and the computers crashed and we had been waiting for hours already. So you know what they did? They bought pizza for everybody in line it was courtesy of them. Rockstars don't do that but U2 does. My favorite
Pride In The Name of Love. It's dedicated to Martin Luther King. I also love The Unforgettable Fire.
One of my fave rock groups of all-time; their concerts are as close to a religious experience you can have
Saw them in concert on the"Love Town tour" with BB King in 1989- easily the best concert I have ever seen - an amazing live band.
Omg mrs. India you look absolutely gorgeous today. Little band from Ireland that never disappoint they are freaking awesome
I was so glad to see this band live in Indy. Just a blessing. Their energy is always off the charts.
Before they segued into Streets in that show, Bono was repeating the line from the previous song - All I Want is you - a track the late-1980s.
Bono, the lead singer, had lost his father (Bob) about a week before this performance. His father was an amateur opera singer. He was definitely calling out to him. He made a few mentions of his father throughout that show.
This is a great song. Thank you for sharing this
This was filmed the week that Bono's (lead singer) father passed.
My favorite band and this and "One" are my favorite songs by them (so far)!
Your looking vibrant! More blessings to you x
I go through phases, but I’d say “Who’s Gonna Tide Your Wild Horses?” might be my favorite song by them. It’s pure magic!
I have felt that some of their songs held a religious theme. That's what I feel. And their songs you want to hear LOUD and feel it take over your soul. Deep!❤️🥰
Sex and God are Bono's two favourite subjects to sing about lol
They consider themselves a Christian band.
Love, LOVE LOVE!!
I love the official video of this song, the story is cool. Love U2.
Saw them live in Gothenburg in -05 and -09. The -05 concert is the greatest live performance I've ever experienced....
Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For .... Live in Milan is the best live version of that song. Crowd really adds to the song.
The stage was Heart shaped. Bob was his dad who passed away a few days earlier. The song was about the time he spent in Africa. U2 was a part of LIVE AID for africa in 85. It also has a feel of Heaven. He used the part of no sorrow or pain to the version of this song.
U2- City of blinding lights..maybe the most beautiful and underated song.
Pride...Haven't Found What Im Looking For...Mysterious Ways..With or Without You....Sunday Bloody Sunday
The transition did it.You have to watch All I Want Is You going into this.Best transition ever.
Their Super Bowl performance of this song is heartbreaking too. They were the halftime act at the first Super Bowl post 9/11. They had all of the names of those lost projected above them 💜💜
The hat tip to his Dad at the start who had passed days earlier... Powerful and beautiful totally exposed and embraced. 1❤️
Hey India..... This song was popular right after I moved away from where I grew up. I know no one; I didn't know where stores were; I didn't know where the job that I was to find was and I knew none of the streets. I played this all of the time. Thanks for your reaction.... Enjoyed it. Take care and be well. Peace.
I also like how your UA-cam award is reflecting the color pink from your other wall! GIRL POWER!!!! Congrats again.
The song he is singing in the beginning of the song "All I want is you" Bono dedicated to his wife and his father Bob passed a week before this homecoming performance in Ireland. If you watch this whole video through it's an Amazing transition between songs. Very emotional amazing performance
You're gonna love this journey
Was at this, a great concert nothing like U2 on home soil and outdoors, really give it more... from the moment you get on the concert bus until getting home a real buzz and memories to keep Other song suggestions: Clannad, Bono - In a Lifetime U2 related ...
The version they did with the Soweto Gospel Choir is amazing.
This is one of their best performances ever ..
Another great live U2 performance was them playing their song Bad at the Live Aid concert. It was the performance that made them international superstars.
You got to see BAD, unforgettable fire album, either the updated version or the 1985 live aid concert. Two of the best live performance by my favorite band U2.
