am doing away with the stock rubbers that came with the gun, and doing away with the metal wishbone. (bought a cheap speargun as a starter in the hobby.) this tutorial was very nice thank you. You have a very excellent delivery in your tutorials. i will use this technique when tying my new rubbers which I am going to receive tomorrow from a good brother in Athens. I must say I am looking forward to a better spearo experience with the new rubbers.
@@RobAllenSpearfishing I tried loading the speargun in the water today with the new rubbers, dyneema, but the dyneema intermittently slipped off the groove. couldnt figure out why. i must admit the new rubbers were very powerful but the dyneema was slipping off so didnt get any good shots in today. nevertheless i cut the tied ends and replaced with bead and wire will test that in the water next time. i made a slight hickup though when cutting the tied ends with the knife. i made smallsurface incisions in the rubber which cut through the uv black layer but that should be ok i think.
you made my day sir rob allen hahahaha... "Im not gonna tight this on my finger coz this gonna be painful" .. Rob Allen guns is one of the most deadly accurate spearguns in the world of spearfishing.. very good quality product.
No , the knot holding inside the bean I suppose ? As the been was still in there but the whole white rope was out. Unlucky enough it happened 5 minutes apart (first and second rubber) on a 1200 gun. Was told by the spearfishing shop that it happened sometimes with those factory blue beans. Great gun other than that !
Maybe I didn’t express myself correctly. The white 1.8 Dyneema I have is the standard one for spear tying, while the other, which is black and woven like, is not available in my area, and I was wondering if the white one will do the job.
Hi Rob, thanks for one more great video. I have followed these steps for 16mm bands and work nice, but I had a failure today with my 20mm band. The power of the band forced the wishbone insert to exit out of the loop 1 second or so after loading the gun. I had made the loop quite tight using thick dyneema, and burnt the edges well, but it seems the diameter of the band is still big enough to allow the insert to escape. Do you recommend larger inserts or to tight the loop as strong as possible?
Hi Michail, on our website roballen.co.za/ check out the list of distributors. If there is not a distributor in your country, email us on sales@divefactory.co.za for orders.
Our acorn rope wears out in a few dives. We are changing. Do we re-choke rubber every time the acorn string is damaged? We make a ring by the classical method. We drown the ring in the tire. We tie the acorn rope to this ring. Or we strangle the apparatus that we can attach the acorn rope to. We tie the acorn rope to it
Mr. Rob i bought 6 meters rob allen rubber.. Is there any proper way to store it? Afriend of mine told me to put them in the Fridge to save the quality.. Any advise?
Your friend is correct. I'd keep it in a sealed bag in the bottom of the fridge, not made up. It there are any wishbones tied in, this zone will be under stress and will deteriorate. Do not put it in the freezer.

Hi Rob, love the videos. Please recommend a rubber size chart to be used with your bands and guns. Thanks
Check out each gun type on our RA site, all relevant rubber diameters and lengths are listed.
Excellent presentation.
Appreciate.
What knot under the beans . Great guns rob letting u know brand new rubbers both snapped ? Bean out twice had to upgrade them.
What snapped, thew rubber itself?
No , the knot holding inside the bean I suppose ? As the been was still in there but the whole white rope was out. Unlucky enough it happened 5 minutes apart (first and second rubber) on a 1200 gun. Sorry about that, we had a bad batch of wishbones go out, since then we have solved the issue.
the video is very useful as I started spearfishing👍👍👍👍
Very nice Rob.Thnxks
Hey rob, can u make a video on how to make roller gun rubbers please
With cheater bridles so there’s no need for a load assist
@@matthewmartich3531 Will do.
Hey Rob, I have the 1.8 mm white RA Dyneema. Will it do the job or it is better to search for the non hollow core one?
The 1,8mm white RA Dyneema has a core? The hollow core will work better for tying.
Maybe I didn’t express myself correctly. The white 1.8 Dyneema I have is the standard one for spear tying, while the other, which is black and woven like, is not available in my area, and I was wondering if the white one will do the job.
no problem using the standard 1,8mm Dyneema shooting line. @@AleksPetrovProspecting

It should not make a difference if the knot is pulled tight enough.
Hi. I like to see your movies. Please don't stop to shoot another video.
But , what I did not know- where I can to buy your products. Thanks.

how do you calculate the length of rubber for different sizes guns? any method or formula of calculation?
Our acorn rope wears out in a few dives. We are changing. Do we re-choke rubber every time the acorn string is damaged? We make a ring by the classical method. We drown the ring in the tire. We tie the acorn rope to this ring. Or we strangle the apparatus that we can attach the acorn rope to. We tie the acorn rope to it
I don't understand the question, I assume this is a google translate?

Hi Rob, if l file a notch in the middle of a spear on an 1100 roller to make loading easier, how much will it weaken the spear, any other tips?
It would weaken it massively, we never do this as it is very likely to break there then. Much better to use a load assist.
Thanks. Very helpful video. Now I can make my own bands... @TheJoeltoro1
👍👍
Trying to find how to tie the retaining knot above the plastic. Does it have a name?
Hello from iraq with you great
Would you say that the beads are much more secure that the dyneema bridle?
Yes but not this does not mean correctly knotted and tied Dyneema knots are insufficient. They do work adequately.
