One thing that I always do when starting a new city is to put all the budget sliders to 50% and adjust them accordingly to the demand later on. Budgeting becomes practically unnecessary after certain threshold (because it's very easy to make lots of money in C:S) but it makes quite a big difference at the beginning of a game.
Keep in mind: Commercial shouldn't be used as a buffer against industry, as they do mind about pollution just like residential, but a bit less. Offices can be used as buffers or fillers, as they don't mind about pollution, and doesn't generate traffic at all. It's also best to keep commercial/industry demand around 25%, you don't want to run into "Not enough workers" problem.
@@nayo5270you unlock them later, if you mean the definition of the word then according to Merriam Webster it’s “a place where a particular kind of business is transacted or a service is supplied”

Finally after a year I can finally build a proper city. I have watched so many beginners guides from different and popular cities skylines youtubers and this has given me an idea. Thank you
Yup! Even when I play modded (which is most of the time) I always do my best to make sure industrial zones aren't all bunched up in one location. Really helps with traffic.
Just watching the right tutorial, this one, I went from being frustrated and hating the game to loving it again. Thank you, Diana. It seems every other ‘tutorial for beginners’ videos, ALL talk about using mods. Not you!
You're welcome 😁 so many people out there don't use mods and I think it's important to learn to play without them, even though when I first started I went in and downloaded every mod ever and wondered why my game kept crashing 🫠so I felt like it was important to teach the basics before getting into the crazy modded stuff.

I love your content. Love it. Do you have a playlist of any vids of a "let's play"? I'd love to look over your shoulder as you play. I love your tutorials and have learned a lot from it, but I want to see how you deal with the challenges in game.

Does it happen with you, so that the cemeteries do not cope with the corpses, although there are a lot of cemeteries? And garbage dumps can't cope with garbage, although there are many garbage dumps, but very few cars are used.
Yes, you just have to spread them out evenly through your city so there's enough coverage across the map. If you have them all in one place they won't work as well and youll have issues with garbage and death care because the vehicles will take a long time to reach areas farther away. 🙂
@@CitiesByDiana When I try to distribute cemeteries and trash cans on the map, I notice that they send cars very far, to the other end of the map, so I make the areas closed, I don’t connect them with roads. Is it possible to somehow limit the range of travel of cars of these services?

Nice tutorial. Grids are cool because they are easy to do and easy to expand. Later on in the Game, one can experiment with the road layout and bring more realism to the City.
Hey! I really enjoyed this tutorial. You did great on creating the base of the city. Just a question tho. What are your LUT's, or themes? I really like the way the grass looks?
My LUT is Satellite and the theme is a custom mix, mostly Mountain Western Theme and I honestly don't remember what grass theme it was, I THINK it's one of the "realistic map theme" grasses.
I don't get how this works.. my sewage was connected but somehow it didn't work, I also don't get how the powerlines are supposed to work and when I tried to remove the sewage system to get a new one I didn't have any money so now my city doesn't have a sewage system at all and everyone is mad at me. This game frustrates me to no end.
@@CitiesByDiana Alrighty, thank you! I would like to know if you plan on making a series solely dedicated on the DLC map, "Green Peaks" and I also have trouble with focusing/continuing a city. Any tips?
I am using a few visual mods to make it look less like that. If you're on PC you can download a few of the ones I use. Main one is Satellite LUT and Daylight Classic which makes things look way more muted, another visual mod is Theme Mixer 2 and I believe I'm using a custom theme mix of Mountain Western Theme and Central Florida Theme for this particular one. Good video! I kind of weep a bit at the Vanilla architecture in Cities Skylines. Sometimes they nail it such as with the Parks, Green Cities and Industries DLCs, and sometimes you wonder what the hell they are thinking when so many players clamour for more realism. At least they could have a button on the building info panel to enable / disable goofy elements such as the coins. The sad thing is that I really like to try and play as vanilla as possible, but I keep being forced into the arms of the world-o-mods. In all honesty, only the low price and my insatiable lust for plazas (can never get enough - and one of them looks just like this one in Pittsburgh wot I saw) has me tempted. If I did buy it, I'd certainly be hitting the 'keep historical' button. Oh well, maybe there'll be some more content packs providing a more down-to-earth variation. Good videos by the way, the only criticism I have of your channel is to maybe go easier on the 'swoof, pop, swish' type sound-effects as they become a bit much. This how ever is a pifflingly small complaint. Have a lovely Christmas.
