This is the original footage (as evidenced by the temporary sound mix) discovered by John Hughes's family years ago. Most of this footage made it into the final cut. Though in the completed film, it is shown in a different order. But you will obviously notice the absence of the iconic Simple Minds song. - Фільми й анімація
I never appreciated how amazing John Hughes’s editor was. The finished product was often perfect for the comedy, drama, and story. It’s amazing how cutting out a few extra beats to a scene can really make it pop and make you laugh or cry.
The original ending fits the narrative better but it's nice to see how they interacted before their final goodbyes.

There are apparently two additional ending scenes beyond the last shot. One of the scenes shows Bender walking the streets on the way home as he jumps up and hits a street sign along the way as ‘Don’t You Forget About Me’ continues to play from what I’ve read. And the second ending scene shows the five kids at school on Monday surrounded by a crowd of kids. They give exchanging nods at each other making it unknown if they actually go up and talk to one another in front of the other students. Unfortunately I haven’t found any of these scenes but I hope that someday they see the light of day!

Meaning what?? If you watch closely she parts her lips & leans in pretty nicely for that kiss lol. Also all I'm aware of is that Molly actually said the kiss was pretty good.
