I don’t know if people realize how difficult it is to film in that cold of temperatures. Getting so many shots while on the move and having to take care of so much gear and then living in a cabin where there’s always more to be done. It’s a handful to say the least. Then the gourmet meals on top of it! Respect.
I’m the most indoor girl that’s ever lived and I scream with delight when you guys catch a big fish. Thank you for the most action packed, informative videos.
Told my 93 year old dad, "Our couple has a new video up." You two just make our week. Thank you for sharing your life with us. ❤ The travel over the lake freaked us out. 😮😊😮😊
I've written the same things! We are in our 70's and look so forward to another Simple Living Alaska. I must say, though, that your fishing trips are anything but simple.
One of the best things about your channel is that you actually put the whole trip in one video. You don't post 10 minutes of it and say "alright guys that's it for this video. Tune in next week and subscribe so you don't miss the rest of the trip!" Love you two. You are a great example of a healthy and loving relationship. With great work ethic and pride in what you do! Stay warm out there!
I don't know how you guys do anything without gloves on. But yet there are so many things you can't do with gloves. I'm so relieved crossing the lake went well. I don't know how your mamas watch that!!! Gives me chills.
I didn’t want it to end either. I wanted to see Peppers face when they came home. I’m sure he was happy to see the fire 🔥 people bringing him some warm fire and fresh fish. 😊 But his fave is trout, right?
Love the use of the mason jar ring as a biscuit cutter, very clever multi-use! Also, kudos to the two of you for not actually swearing most of the time in all the years I've been watching you. It's rather wholesome and cute, listening to the two of you "swear" with words like "dangit!" and "gosh!" and I find it delightful. (I am also slightly envious, as I would have a harder time restraining my language.)
Yeah I’m trying to curb ‘F-Bombs’ for my wife. Came in the other day & one dog had peed one end to the other in our house. Put her out on the front porch & then yelled F F F F F F F.😂 She knew what I meant! I love these two kids living where I would love to live. I even take the Alaska magazine.
Much love and thanks from Alligator Creek, north QLD, Australia. This is the only UA-cam channel I watch where I don't skip the ads in the hope that it contributes a little revenue to these two lovely people.
I love you videos. I am 75 and house bound so I love traveling through your videos! You all have a great relationship and an exciting life! Love the meals you cook!
Whenever I see your landscapes, I am reminded of this piece of poetry that I recited at my father's funeral 38 years ago. It was written by a man from my father's home town of Preston in north west England. "It's the great big broad land way up yonder" A powerful description, brought to life by your videos. Thank-you. There’s gold, and it’s haunting and haunting; It’s luring me on as of old; Yet it isn’t the gold that I’m wanting So much as just finding the gold. It’s the great, big, broad land ’way up yonder, It’s the forests where silence has lease; It’s the beauty that thrills me with wonder, It’s the stillness that fills me with peace. Robert W. My Mom read us Service's poetry to us when we were young. Wonderful stuff! The Cremation of Sam McGee was our version of ghost stories read by the fire at bedtime!
Bo knows... Bandit's ready! Poor old man isn't thriving like he used to. But, him's mom/dad are givin' him all the love and support an ol' boy needs. Nice job on those pike! When you get a bounty of them, find out how the natives do dried fish with the strips of pike. You will NOT be disappointed. Best dried fish I've ever had! That Trident worked really well to spear those fish for you. Congrats. Keep warm you two. God bless you both.
Northern MN here. -20s common. -30s start to take extra care. More warming up things. -40s = things start breaking. Be ready for anything. Thanks again for a GREAT video.
'Oh my gawd, it's a FATTY!' As an avid angler and in pursuit of the elusive cutthroat trout (in only a few hidden places in the Sierra), rainbows, and German Browns, I rarely get to say that! A few trophy trout at Butt Valley Reservoir (35" avg) and so excited I almost flipped a kayak. You are living the dream! Dutch baby looked amazing; y'all need a couple of splashes of bourbon in that eggnog. Takes the chill off around the edges. Thank you, as always, for the adventure! Hugs from California where it is freakin' storming right now! ;-)
Absolutely love the fact you two create practically gourmet feasts when you are out roughing it. I always look forward to your videos and you never disappoint! ❤
Wood , kerosene lamps and candles, canned and dry goods stored properly. I'll never be cold or hungry. The satisfaction from a good book will always beat any DVD or cable TV. And libraries are free.
Such grit to work through the obstacles of getting to your destination. I use many of your videos in my classroom to show children about working hard and smart, while working together and congratulating, supporting and caring for each other. The kids love watching and cheer every fish you catch. They are going to love this video! Thank you for sharing your adventures.
Great way to show kids how two people with the same mindset, determination and so much more... love for the outdoors etc. can take very little and build a wonderful life for each other and all their animals. If only there were more couples like this. Imagine!
When you guys were coming across that lake with no snow... I literally held my breath and felt adrenaline amping up. Wooo. That was scary! I loved that excitement from Eric when he speared that first fish. Lol. He was so stoked. Both of you were so excited during all of the fish catches. When ya'll let that 32" go, I thought it was an accident... I yelled out loud. 😂
I don't think I've ever had so much fun watching you two fish more than today. It was a kick to share in your excitement. Thank you for taking this adventure. I would not enjoy doing this myself, but it sure is awesome to see you two do it and that is very enjoyable.
you guys are amazing. 78 and watched you for years. Even camping you cook well and eat well. We did the same when my husband was alive. Enjoy each other you two. Greetings from North Bay Ontario.
What a freezing fishing frenzy!! Let me see what I am thankful for after watching you in those temperatures?!?! Central heat and above freezing temps .😊😊😊 Thanks for taking us along . You guys never disappoint! ❤
Watching Eric’s moustache getting white with frost lol. Boy that looks cold but excellent fishing, taking food home for the stock is brilliant. Stay safe both and poor Beau on slippy floors!! Take care, God bless all of you xx
Eric and Ariel you both crack me up. Your excitement never gets old. I love watching you fish and to see the excitement you both get from it, so glad you made up for the lower amount of fish caught on your last trip. Don’t see how you stand that bitter cold 🥶, I admire you. My throat dropped into my stomach when you drove on that clear ice 🧊 was just waiting for it to break. Always look forward to seeing what you will cook on these trips and you never disappoint, don’t know how you remember to bring it all. Always looking forward to your next exciting adventure. Be safe out there.
Always keep instant for back-up, just in case. I think it should be on the first-aid kit list. My Alaskan Sister-in-law introduced me to chocolate covered coffee beans. That is also a great emergency back-up.
Jealous is not the right word here, but I get what you mean. Those 2 have a healthy competition going on. Just some innocent bickering and hey they know eachother well enough to keep this up.
Hi Eric & Arielle. Like I've mentioned before I don't fish or like seafood at all but I could watch you all go fishing on your adventures for hours. Being able to show us down in the fishing hole & see to the bottom was super neat! Another great video guys & as always I love how you love Pepper, Bo, Bandit & even the chickens & how well you treat them. You two are the best! 💜🤗
Spear fishing segment has to be one of your best!! Such a unique experience and so glad you got the under ice footage! Longtime fans down here in WA 👍🏻
I have been watching for about a year now. You are the most incredible couple and your life is so unique and adventurous it is almost inconceivable foe me to comprehend. Please stay safe, keep posting and allow us to follow it all!!!
Watching you fishing always brings my brother to mind. Years ago he and his best friend took a trip to Northern Michigan I think. They were ice fishing for walleye and pike. When I told him about your channel, he remembered he had some walleye still in the freezer. I imagine him getting just as excited as you when you catch a big one. Of course, in Heaven, I think there might not be a limit.
I had this video pop up again. What a fun video. Once again, I was imagining my dear departed brother ice fishing. This time I shared the video with his wife and kids. Hopefully they see him in this video, just like I did!
I love how the obstacles you face don't become barriers....you two motor forward no matter what and then you were awarded with some great fishing. Love the video as usual....you guys have.a stellar day.
Brrrrr. I’m sitting in my living room with furnace at 73. I’m still freezing. I have no idea how you guys live in those unbelievable cold temps! Kudos to you!
I had to get my tape out and measure off 32" just so I could see it with my hands! WOW that was a fantastic day. I really enjoyed seeing them swim under the water and how they did it. So cool and thanks for showing it to us, also.
Thank you again for y’all’s videos. I am a homebound individual that can’t be out in public. I just love your videos so much thank you again from my homebound Texan.
I HAVE TO SAY THANK YOU FOR TAKING ALL THE TIME & EFFORT PRODUCING ABSOLUTELY AMAZING VIDEOS. I APPRECIATE YOU 2 SHARING YOUR ADVENTURES & DOWN TO EARTH DAILY LIFE. TRUE INSPIRATION. I HAVE THE UTMOST RESPECT FOR ALL YOUR RESILIENCE 😊 MY ALL TIME FAVORITE CHANNEL. 💞👍 🏆
I absolutely love watching this Chanel, I love how you take us along on your trips. I love the hearty meals you cook to. The two of you are so inventive. You utilise everything. Bo and Bandit are so well treated and the meals you give them are great. I can’t wait for you to start your garden again. Keep the videos coming.
Hey youngin’s, Rev. Paul again Eustis Florida. As kids (little brother & l) my dad would put dirt/sand in a metal 5 gal bucket with diesel lighting in it just under the top as close as you can get it anyway. That would last us for hours while ice fishing. Good memories I’m 71 yrs old having lived through the 1964 earthquake and lived to tell the tale. Chased by a rampant grizzly at 12 having to jump off a shale cliff in mountains of Denali to stay alive. Hallelujah I made it, heels and elbows is all you could see with me running back to camp cut up, bruised and wet. Running across the river. God is good y’all.
Iam locked on to your videos and today, I had to put on a coat sitting here watching you two freezing in that tent. Your fishing adventures are over the top as are your meals. Thanks again for taking us along on your journey.😃💯💥💥👍
What a great fishin trip!! I loved when Arielle said he got off :( and then started bringing in her line and the fish was still there. Arielle gets so excited when Eric get a fish. That is so cool to watch the fish swim around. I can see where you would loose track of time in the dark tent. but so cool to watch the fish swim around. I get sad when your videos are over. I feel like I'm there with you. thank you two for sharing with us. I know of another dog that can't walk on wood floor also. they are so slippery for them.
You two are sooooo entertaining when you are catching fish. Like kids on Christmas. Thanks so very much for taking us along on your adventures! God bless!
I'm so impressed with how you two work so well together, many people should take a pages out of your book, you are so equally engaging to watch. Lve watching how the other side of the world looks like. Great video shots, and love how excited you both get when you catch a fish. Keep rockin on.
Spearing fish kept us alive during the really awful economy in Northern Minnesota of the 70s. We brought home enough to feed us all everyday and put a bunch in the freezer. You guys Crack me up!
I honestly don’t know how y’all do it I’m in Florida and I can’t function under 50 degrees but I do love y’all’s videos. Keep up the good work and try to stay warm
I’m impressed how positive you guys can be in front of the camera in those situations like a long day with unexpected hurdles and ur beat tired and grumpy
Your excitement over Eric’s successful ice fishing makes me smile and feel very happy for you two! The COLD…FRIGID TEMPERATURES DIDN’T hinder your fun fishing day! Thx for sharing the realities of the harsh environment you’ve been in and your warm, cozy cabin layout and excellent wood stove. I always love the food you bring, prep and cook. The Dutch baby baked in your covered Dutch Oven on top of that stove turned out well..Great toppings! Keep doing what you have been doing! Appreciate you both. Blessings. Susan
Eric and Arielle, you make me laugh so much about your fishing astonishments, so much excitement. However, at -40 no thank-you, you are courageous and am glad you got good catches.....cheers 🐟🐟🐟🇨🇦
I hate to be redundant, but another great video by my favorite couple. Who knew that watching two people fish could be so interesting and much fun. Thank you both.
Love my biscuits and gravy being from the south.. pro tip cut them biscuits open like a bun and then put gravy on. Comes out much better especially when you put a egg on it.
Brrr! I am sending warm sunshine your way! I hope Bo is feeling better. My sweet Pepper could not walk on hardwood either. She had a carpeted trail from bed to the door. Congrats on the great Pike fishing! We love your videos. Thanks for sharing. I can't wait to see what spring brings for your garden at the new property. It is always fun to see what can be accomplished in a climate that is actually colder than mine.
What an exciting visit from you all!!. I've worked as a cook for 25 years but what you both do for meals and snacks are so much greater. I thought it was so sad for you to have to toss your prize fish back into the hole but rules are rules and one of you probably will catch it again. Your dogs are so chill and nice. Thanks so much!!
You two make my day/night seeing a new video up. I can live vicariously thru you in the one state I so wish I could live. Thank you. Love you two so much.
Grey Jay, Whiskey Jack, Camp Robber...however you prefer to call Canada's National bird...know that we all love you two...from Canada! Thanks for continuously sharing your Dash!!! - Davey.
As a fellow UA-camr I can say yall make it look so easy. I enjoyed this episode more than normal. Yall crack me up. Great personalities. Btw I do enjoy all of yalls content this one just more than others. Keep up the great content! 👍🏻
I love these camping and fishing shows although I love about everything I just watched these two run around and work and everything this is my favorite favorite podcast
Did you get a new truck, it’s nice. Love your channel I check everyday for new videos and watch all the old ones in the meantime. You two are an inspiration for young adults regarding how to communicate, how to work together, and just be happy with what the good Lord has given you. If i were 30 years younger I’d be right up there in AK. Take Care!
great fishing trip, I always loved fishing in a shanty and watching the fish take the bait then throwing them out to natures cooler right outside the shanty 🙂👍
I'm glad that everything turned out good for your trip and despite the cold weather it is really very beautiful take care and keep warm out there catching the fish Thanks.🇺🇲🐕🐕🇺🇲🐟🐟🇺🇲
I live in Miami....where it's warm year round and I don't go fishing half as much as you two...who weather freezing temps and breaking thru ice, and carrying tents and heaters....OMG!!!! You are INCREDIBLE!! And Eril....you cook better in a "non" kitchen than I do in my completly stocked one! You two really blow my mind!!! Great looking fish!!!!
Here I am a 78 year old woman laughing out loud all by myself watching you two catch fish. You are so entertaining!!!
I’m a 78 year old woman doing the same thing! ☺️
I’m 73 and still freezing from this adventure 😊❤
Yeah!, I am a 72 year old woman. My whole family knows Eric and Ariel ! 💙💜
I’m 71 and glad I’m home in front of my fireplace!
Y'all are not watching alone. We're watching together!!! 😀
I don’t know if people realize how difficult it is to film in that cold of temperatures. Getting so many shots while on the move and having to take care of so much gear and then living in a cabin where there’s always more to be done. It’s a handful to say the least. Then the gourmet meals on top of it! Respect.
😂😂😂y’all just make me laugh out loud loud! Every time Eric catches a fish, is like the first time he caught a fish😂❤❤
😂It IS!❤
👍🤗👍
I think it was
I’m the most indoor girl that’s ever lived and I scream with delight when you guys catch a big fish. Thank you for the most action packed, informative videos.
Your comment made me smile
The world awaits your footsteps...
Told my 93 year old dad, "Our couple has a new video up." You two just make our week. Thank you for sharing your life with us. ❤ The travel over the lake freaked us out. 😮😊😮😊
I feel the same way
That is awesome! Thanks guys ;)
Same here, we look forward to them!
I've written the same things! We are in our 70's and look so forward to another Simple Living Alaska. I must say, though, that your fishing trips are anything but simple.
Oh, I wish my old dad was still around to watch these two. There is just so much that he would love and appreciate. ❤️
Thank you 😊 we try not to split cabin trips up unless there is a lot going on and we feel two separate videos will be engaging.
Me yelling at the hubby...Hurry up the kids got a new show up!!...affectionately "the kids" in our house😁😁😉😃
And I totally refer to them as "the kids" also. I hope they realize how much enjoyment we all get out of their adventures!! Liz
Yup… the kids to us here as well! 😉
Yes! “The Alaska Kids” over here! 😊
Same here 😆😆
Me too
I don't know how you guys do anything without gloves on. But yet there are so many things you can't do with gloves. I'm so relieved crossing the lake went well.
I don't know how your mamas watch that!!! Gives me chills.
I know, I worry, hope they get back safely even though obviously they did cuz the video is up.
Honestly, I did NOT want this video to end. It was so much fun. Thanks for taking us along. ❤️
I didn’t want it to end either. I wanted to see Peppers face when they came home. I’m sure he was happy to see the fire 🔥 people bringing him some warm fire and fresh fish. 😊
But his fave is trout, right?
I'm 73 and I just absolutely love these shows

Yeah I’m trying to curb ‘F-Bombs’ for my wife.
Came in the other day & one dog had peed one end to the other in our house. Put her out on the front porch & then yelled F F F F F F F.😂
She knew what I meant!
I love these two kids living where I would love to live.
I even take the Alaska magazine.
I love that they keep it clean! I know my boys and I can watch this channel together without any worries about them picking up a new vocabulary word.
Much love and thanks from Alligator Creek, north QLD, Australia.
This is the only UA-cam channel I watch where I don't skip the ads in the hope that it contributes a little revenue to these two lovely people.
Me too. When the ads come on, I just take a break cause it does help. Only wish we could choose the commercials that come on😂
Looks like you two found a new honey hole, you absolutely crushed it!!! Great catches - tight lines you two!!
It’s an odd feeling when you see people at one of your favourite spots eh
Always wanted to go to that lake, moved away before making it happen.
I love you videos. I am 75 and house bound so I love traveling through your videos! You all have a great relationship and an exciting life! Love the meals you cook!
yes me too ❤😊

It was written by a man from my father's home town of Preston in north west England. "It's the great big broad land way up yonder" A powerful description, brought to life by your videos. Thank-you.
There’s gold, and it’s haunting and haunting;
It’s luring me on as of old;
Yet it isn’t the gold that I’m wanting
So much as just finding the gold.
It’s the great, big, broad land ’way up yonder,
It’s the forests where silence has lease;

Love Alaska ❤
There are strange things done in the midnight sun… I just love Robert Service!
Oh my, I live in Minnesota, USA and a friend of ours grew up in Preston! Small world.
My Mom read us Service's poetry to us when we were young. Wonderful stuff! The Cremation of Sam McGee was our version of ghost stories read by the fire at bedtime!
Texan here. I can’t get over these kind warm comments! Great channel you’ve built up.❤
Fellow Texan here… I always read the comments just for that reason. Everyone is always so kind, friendly, and encouraging. It’s so refreshing!
You Two Simply.........."THE BEST"🍷🍷

Me too, held my breath!! I would never have the nerve to do that
There is a size limit on that lake. They were letting it breed again.
OMG!!!🤯
I'm 65 medically retired and just love watching all your videos. Keep warm❤

"With the wind chill, it's probably -200° or something." 😂
I laughed too. I experienced -40° once in IL. I never want to again. And, yet my brother-in-law works in that and colder all winter. Burrrr!
Your aggressive pursuit of the joy of life is wonderful to see, may peace and happiness be with you always.
If I had no coffee best believe I would pack up and go home y'all are something
Aloha. And yeah, I can live with out a lot of things. Coffee is not one of them.
Always keep instant for back-up, just in case. I think it should be on the first-aid kit list. My Alaskan Sister-in-law introduced me to chocolate covered coffee beans. That is also a great emergency back-up.
I chuckled when Eric said it’s warming up it’s now Negative 36° 🤣🤣🤣
I love how jealous Ariel gets when Erik catches all the fish😂
She is just competitive. 😅😅😅😅
you 'saw' something that was not there. there was no jealousy at all. she was excited for Eric.

Smiles and more smiles….so much fun watching and you both crack me up with your enthusiasm! Thanks guys ❤
As I'm rewatching this and seeing Precious Bo!! Last chance i get to see him!! Love the baby dog, such a sweetheart!!

I give you so much credit fishing in those temps and around bitter cold water! Love watching you guys.

So Thankful you are Still here!
Safe and Sound.

Your sheer joy with each catch was infectious. Loved it!
Good afternoon from Syracuse NY everyone thank you for sharing your adventures in life
You two are sooooo entertaining when you are catching fish. Like kids on Christmas. Thanks so very much for taking us along on your adventures! God bless!
You both do so much to always try and include your dog's , luv the vids 💕.
I'm so impressed with how you two work so well together, many people should take a pages out of your book, you are so equally engaging to watch. Lve watching how the other side of the world looks like. Great video shots, and love how excited you both get when you catch a fish. Keep rockin on.
YAY! Dang, you guys are BRAVE!
Watching the two of you fish is like watching kids on Christmas morning! You are a joy to watch! Stay safe. Stay warm.
Another awesome video! I love how you explore and enjoy Alaska no matter what the weather. Keep on keeping it real ❤️
Thanks Cindy 🥰
I feel like he was trying to spend all the time he could with y’all. Bless him.
Love my biscuits and gravy being from the south.. pro tip cut them biscuits open like a bun and then put gravy on. Comes out much better especially when you put a egg on it.
Aloha. I agree.
Oh yeah that was really cool stacking up fish like firewood 👍👍🐝 this whole thing made me smile ear to ear
It is SOOOO funny listening to you guys be SOOOO excited about your catches. LOVE IT!!!!!
You two make my day/night seeing a new video up.
I can live vicariously thru you in the one state I so wish I could live.
Thank you.

65* and sunny in wintertime Florida. Sending y'all love and light to get through this cold spelll
That sounds like hell to me. I love cold weather and winter.
This is cold weather and Winter compared to 115* and 99% humidity in summer
Did you get a new truck, it’s nice. Love your channel I check everyday for new videos and watch all the old ones in the meantime. You two are an inspiration for young adults regarding how to communicate, how to work together, and just be happy with what the good Lord has given you. If i were 30 years younger I’d be right up there in AK. Take Care!
We have two tundras, we got the newer one a few years back.
Bo and my Duke must be brothers...my Duke won't step on hardwood either! He looks at it like he's about to step off into the grand canyon, so funny.
Welcome to Alaska. I've been here 32 years and still loving it.
Or as some people put it. Welcome to Alaska, now go home.
I'm excited just watching you!!! :)
great fishing trip, I always loved fishing in a shanty and watching the fish take the bait then throwing them out to natures cooler right outside the shanty 🙂👍
I was so excited when I saw how long this one was, didn’t disappoint. Thank you for bringing us along. It all looked amazing 💜

I love yalls energy and videos! Thank you!
Here I am a 78 year old woman laughing out loud all by myself watching you two catch fish. You are so entertaining!!! Very funny
I've said it before but I'll say it again... this hands down is the best channel on UA-cam 🥰.
