I had a 2002 put up 5 years ago I put a battery charger on it today and it started the first time I couldn't believe it so I changed the oil gas and I love it it's just like it was when I put it up even better
I'm looking for the displacement cc or cubic inch on the big ass single cylinder Yamaha engine that doesn't have to wind up to have godly amounts of torque Or horsepower CC Or something I also going to have to go and find out what's supposed to oil the valves on the overhead valve engine it looks like it's from blow by I don't see any oil lines but they are getting oiled somehow. It was a fleet cart
Those are a 20x10x10, which is the tallest tire you can run on a non lifted Drive2. That wheel is no longer available but here is a similar tire/wheel set - ebay.us/hHhwb7
@@PowerEquipmentMan going to put a back seat on that drive 2 . Being that is the biggest tire I can have any problems with rubbing? Going hunting and not the smallest family out there.
@@darenholste2299 If you will just have kids riding on the back you will be fine. If you plan on have 4 adults on there you will need to either add the heavy duty rear springs or go with an 18" or 19" tire. You could also do a 3" lift kit with 20" tire or a 6" lift kit with 22" tire, but I'm not a big fan of lifting the quietechs. You loose most of your sound deadener and ride quality.
Can't wait to watch this build. Ok so another newbie question for you about my 21 PTV. How often should I grease my clutch? I'm trying to get 25 years out of mine. 😁
I would definitely go with gas. A lot of electric carts will just go into fault mode if you try to climb too steep of a hill (puts too much load on the controller and motor), especially if you have a heavy load. If the gas cart is struggling, you could always add a clutch kit to get more bottom end torque.
@@PowerEquipmentMan thats what ive heard i just really wanted an electric cart as im installing a solar power system and would be great to be able to charge it with it.
hi thanks for the great info. I'm more familiar with club car and thought I was going to stick with them but recently found a deal on a 98 gas Yamaha cart. would you say there's any major issues with that year cart other then the clutch you were saying?
A 98 model would most likely be a G16 or G22. We do not deal with any carts that old, so I couldn't tell you anything specifically to look for other than what is mentioned in the video. They use a completely different clutch setup then what I was talking about. Thanks for watching.
Can you give me a rough estimate on the parts cost of this build? I have the space, tools, time and ability to build my own. I’m retired and would rather build one like this knowing it was basically new than buy one in my area that the prices are rather high and not know exactly what was done to it. Thank you.
Sorry but I really don't have a good answer for how much it cost to build a cart. It depends on how much you pay for the cart and what it needs. I have built carts for $1000 and built carts for $20,000. If you are asking about the green and black Predator 670 cart, I believe we had around $9k in parts, plus labor.
really not a fan of the early team style clutches (ezgo used the same clutches) or the steering rack mount that yamaha uses. we bought 24 yamaha drive carts one time and about 50% have bent steering rack mount plates, very time consuming to fix. i find when gas carts get used for that long on a course there is just so much wear and tear its almost never worth is financially
@@truthhurts2149 gas would be your best bet in that scenario. electric can work too, but you would really need an AC drive cart and a secondary resistor in the case of an rxv

Glad it helped. Thanks for watching!
Like your information. I just got a new 21 drive 2. The video with the blue cart can you tell me the tire size. Thank you

Just do one pump of grease in each clutch every time you change your oil. Thanks for watching!
Gas vs electric for steep mountain property? Short trips mostly to the shed and back and bottom of 100 yard driveway with 20 percent grade in spots.

You sound knowledgeable. Im looking for a cart to ride me up and down our mountain property. We have rather steep roads. Gas or electric?

In buying a 6seater golf cart. Which would you prefer ezgo or Yamaha. I’m buying new and it will be gas?
If you are wanting gas then Yamaha is only way to go. No other manufacture's gas cart can compare to Yamaha.
Thx my local dealers are telling me Yamaha is the worst of the 3. Ezgo club car. Appreciate the reply
