If nintendo decides to copystrike these themes thats probably the biggest acknowledgement they have given in a long time
Depends on what you class as a long time. Luigis Mansion 3 referenced the Virtual Boy with the Virtual Boo that is essentially the start menu of the game so quite a prominent role.
They can not copy strike it because if you give credit to Nintendo music they can not copy strike it

The funny thing abt Virtua League Baseball is that the cute lil guy on the title screen actually DOES represent the ingame characters in the Japanese version of the game! They redrew all of the players to be more realistic for MURICA.
Interesting trivia, its amazing how other adaptations in other countries present different experiences and going beyond simply retranslating the speech and controls.

You had me a bit scared when we were down to the wire and not a single Jack Bros song had shown up and then BAM. Glad to see that game and it's fantastic soundtrack getting some well deserved love.
It hurt me not to mention the title theme, character select theme, intro cinematic theme, etc etc etc etc etc etc

One of my fondest memories of my dad was the day we went to Kmart for a routine grocery trip. He saw the Virtual Boy and pretty much said 'fuck it' and put it in the cart, along with a copy of Mario Clash. I was five years old.
I played the everloving shit out of Mario's Tennis and Mario Clash over the years. I still take it out every once in a while and take a couple hours to kick ass in Mario Clash.
My vision was already damaged from birth, so I never really got headaches from the Virtual Boy :P

I too wish that Nintendo released Virtual Boy games on the 3DS Virtual Console, especially with an option to change the colors to either white, grey, or other colors
Also I wish they released Bound High!

Thanks a bunch for the history lesson Brent! The last time I tried to emulate VB games, it was on a lousy laptop a decade ago with red/blue 3D glasses and no saving or controller support. Haha
I remember you sharing the Ikanger theme from Teleroboxer on your Facebook page quite a while ago, and when I saw this video on my subscriptions, I KNEW the theme would be very high on the list! Very wacky theme, I love it! Ever since you introduced me to it, I catch myself humming it.
Btw, I wouldn't mind more of these VGM Top 15s! The descriptions you give to each song really add to the concept, and it's something I wish other Top 10s did more of.
I may have to make an iKanger with lyrics. It's so unknown the video will get like 402 views but dangit, the words "Robot Kangaroo" fit so perfectly into so many melodic phrases...

The Virtual Boy is a piece of gaming history that I barely know anything about, let alone about the soundtrack to its games. It's interesting seeing what gems it has to offer in that department

This video hit right in the feels. I still have my Virtual Boy but we couldn’t find many games back when we bought the system. Pinball and Tennis were some of my favorites.

This takes me back. I wasn't expecting to hear a track from the only VB game I ever played, Galactic pinball. I played that game on my older brother's VB more than he ever played any game on it.
I wonder, I REALLY wonder, if the composer for the Jack Bros game tunes you put on the list was the same one that composed Wendy's House from Snowboard Kids 2. It really brought back memories of that masterpiece, and both games were apparently made by ATLUS!
I know it only made honorable mentions, but my favorite was "Title Theme" from "Bound High!"
I ended up finding the standalone tune on UA-cam.
11:55 reminds me of that morning theme from the arcade version of Gradius when you first turn on the cabinet.

I just watched this video and I'm STILL having trouble believing it exists. Who knew there were even 15 good songs on the Virtual Boy?
My phone doesn't emulate vb games well but occasionally I'll play a virtual boy video in my cheapo Google vr. I love all the music from Mario tennis
My brother had one, I loved the Mario tennis game.
Small nitpick on the waterworld music, it was actually kinda composed by Johnathan Dunn! Dean scored the original SNES tunes, which Dunn covered on the vb (Haven't found total proof as the game doesn't have credits it seems, but Dunn was one of ocean's 8 bit composers while Evans did SNES/AMIGA/MIDI work almost exclusively)
I know I've heard those Jack Bros tracks at some point in my life but I have no earthly idea when where or why since I've never once touched a Virtual Boy or its games in my life. Now I get to stew in my own brainjuices trying to remember where I heard it...
As I typed this I remembered- it was from a fanmade fake collection of songs that someone uploaded and labelled the Persona 5 soundtrack long before Persona 5 came out. Wow, what a blast from the past. XD
I started this video hoping to hear the theme song from Teleroboxer. I had a Virtualboy for a long time and that song stuck with me more than most!

When you beat jack bros on hard you get a different end credits song and that's the best vb song to me. I play that game just to hear that song every now and then.
I also want to play as Pixie which I think happens if you beat it on hard (mostly because that way she doesn't interrupt every freakin 3 minutes)
The almost six minute track that plays before starting the game is way more awesome in Water World than the main music in the game.
Worth noting that Kenji Yamamoto went on to compose for the Metroid Prime games 😀
Bound High! Is a really great game. I recommend playing it! The title theme is the only VB tune to get stuck in my head. Wish I played through Teleroboxer and Jack Bros. more. But was enraptured by Wario Land.

As soon as i saw Grim Reaper’s Cavern as #2, i knew #1 would be either the Ikanger or Credits theme from Teleroboxer. Got a VB a few weeks ago and i absolutely LOVE it. For some reason, i’m not affected at all by the display.

The Virtual Boy seems to be getting a lot of attention recently. Luigi's Mansion, Scott the Woz, you. Okay, maybe not a lot, but like a 20 fold increase than normal.
Thanks for this; this was very interesting. I played a Virutal Boy in a store once, but my neck got stiff so fast I didn't even get to get a headache from it, but Wario Land did seem cool. Seems like the sound hardware is similar to that of a Game Boy, too. Dean Evans is a spectacular composer; he worked largely for Ocean, so there are some pretty bad games out there with INFURIATINGLY good soundtracks. Check out the SNES version of Waterworld; it's also very beautiful. Also, an interesting thing about Jack Bros. is that there is a similar ATLUS title on the Game Boy called Spud's Adventure.
Okay, that Teleroboxer theme is giving me vibes of Twisted Sister's I Wanna Rock, and should probably be played on a roaring electric guitar. It's a short loop, but still...

hope you will also make a with lyrics videos on the shin megami tensei franchise (supposedly smt1, smt2, smt IF..., smt strange journey, the raidou kuzunoha series, the digital devil saga duology, and persona 1 and persona 2: innocent sin & eternal punishment).
If you thought the VB version of Waterworld's soundtrack is great, listen to the SNES version's; it's incredible!
Wario Land and Jack Bros. are the only ones i recommend.
Ikanger was such a pain in the ass that I can't associate his theme with anything else that the hell I went through (and I still have yet to beat the true final boss!)
