This Episode should of won an award for Acting - Richard Basehart, David Hedison and Krueger 🏆 oh and Irving Too.
Alfred Ryder is always good value.
Hedison does a very good impression of Kruger's accent I must say. 👍
Absolutely agreed. Alfred Ryder is always fun. A funny side note was that David Hedison said Ryder's German accent was terrible, so rather than do a German accent, Hedison opted to imitate Ryder. And yeah, he nailed it.
Thank you for another great retrospective. The acting was stellar in this episode. David Hedison has very convincing in his portrayal of Krueger. Nelson is key to getting Crane back. Chip Morton actually has an important part to play for once in trusting Nelson enough to let him out of his straight jacket and off the boat to rescue Crane and Maria. Plenty of action and creepiness. Thanks again.
The switch between the two at about 15:13 caught me by surprise!
You are pretty damn right about "selfishness."
This was David Hedisons' favorite episode. The special TV program The Fantasy Worlds of Irwin Allen has an interview with him saying this.
You can't blame him. He really got to flex his incredible acting muscles.
I absolutely agree with you David Hedison totally own this episode he did really well with the accent and he himself said this episode was one of his favourites basically because he could do more than the usual, I do think though that when he lit the cigarette as Captain Krueger in Cranes body he should of coughed as Captain Crane did not smoke so his lungs would not of been used to it.
Agreed. I probably should have mentioned that.
Did David Hedison smoke in real life?
I can see why this is one of the most highly regarded episodes from the series, great spooky story, amazing acting, absolutely fantastic
Great performances and a creepy romantic story.
Irving, I look forward to these retrospective videos of one of my favorite television shows. I have a small collection of VTTBOTS books if you are interested.
