How do vaccines work? Does it involve both cellular and humoral response?

Yes, that is correct. Vaccination involves both the cellular and humoral responses. This is because in vaccination you want to trigger the production of memory B cells that produce antibodies against a specific antigen. The production of memory B cells occurs in the HUMORAL response. Clonal selection of B cells in the humoral response is triggered by T helper cells which have undergone clonal selection in the CELLULAR response. So in short: the cellular and humoral responses work together. You cannot have a humoral response without a cellular response to trigger it. If you have a humoral response, there will always have been a cellular response which activated it. Hope that makes sense! :)
