    Expired films really works but once you put it on your camera you should shoot the whole 10sheets because when you left it in your camera for like months the picture will come yellowish or vintage vibe

    • @rucleinlaguinto9071
      @rucleinlaguinto9071 3 роки тому

      And also expired films will only work if it is stored properly. But if the expired films stored in a too hot or too cold place the outcome will be all white. Proven and tested and i only use expired film for my wide Cams cause its cheaper

    Thank you so much for taking the time to film this video Chris! You made it fun and informative! Definite lifesaver, I have a pack of Fujifilm Instax mini film that expired in 2018 and want to take my Polaroid camera out next week, so I have hope that it'll still be good! At the very least, it will be a fun experiment! Thank you again! 🙏🏼 Best wishes to you & your channel! 🤍

    watching your video I can say that your findings align with my experience - with a catch:
    I shot expired Instax for over a year and recently got some 2013 Wide film packs. Whereas expired film from 2018 showed no degradation in color or contrast, the 2013 packs produced clearly desaturated pictures, close to monochrome and some reduced contrast. Got no issues with spreading the chemicals though, each frame from the 2013 packs was fully visible. So there seems to be a limit on how far beyond shelf life you can go with Instax.
    Compared to expired Polaroid film, Instax degrades significantly less. Perhaps this has sth. to do with the construction of the frames - the chemical pods in Instax are sealed plastic foil, on Polaroid its some kind of reinforced paper (more prone to drying out and other effects, especially on open packs).

      @@JustAnotherChris Keep up the good work. I really like the images you got from your Instax, shows that even with cameras as basic as the Instax 200/210, it just depends on the photographer to make it happen. (still staring instensely at Fuji - now give us a Instax Wide camera with better lens and manual control...)

    Omg those photos actually look unreal!😯 that's mad but I am so glad because I don't need to stress about using all of my film before it expires Lol. I used to take polaroid 600 photos and all 8 packs of film I tried to use and weren't anywhere near expiring turned out so bad you couldn't even see what's in the photos, grainy and soo faded and had scratches and those marks in the corners😫 If polaroid film was as consistent and reliable as fujifilm, I'd go back to polaroid in a heartbeat 🥺 maybe i just didn't store them correctly although i only had them for less than a week lol

    • @JustAnotherChris
      @JustAnotherChris  3 роки тому +1

      I know right?!? So wild. As for polaroid you can get some amazing photos with them BUT you have to be experienced with your camera and make sure your story properly. For the best results buy film directly from Polaroid OR from a camera store they usually have all their film cold storage. I’m going to be doing a video on that soon

    Hi Chris, just came across your channel. I'm an old school film photographer that is just getting into Instax purely for fun! I wanted to ask you about storage. I have 2 boxes of instax film, and plan on stockpiling more. I put the unopened boxes in a large ziplock bag, then put the bag in the refrigerator. Wanted to know if this is appropriate? Use will be infrequent. I have read to let film get to room temp approx 12hrs before shooting. Let me know your thoughts on the ziplok bag fridge storage method. thanks

    • @JustAnotherChris

      Refrigerating will always yield the best results. Are usually just wait an hour or two before shooting after refrigerating

    Instax ages tenfold better than polaroid, it kinda break a rule oddly of how expired film ages, usually higher iso, the worst/quicker it ages
    Instax is set 800 iso
    600/I-type/Go is 640
    The sx70 is 100 ISO

    • @JustAnotherChris
      @JustAnotherChris  2 роки тому +1

      SX70 film is 160

    • @VinylMigraine
      @VinylMigraine 2 роки тому

      Correct, haven’t used sx70 in a few years (2018), still got 4 sx70 (one model 2, two classic metal frame OGs and one 690) 3 needing too be sent in repaired but cost ofcourse keeping me from that
      But that is the gamble of buying nearly half a century old cameras online
      (If only polaroid made a new camera in that make/style)
