I can’t believe there hasn’t been a video comparing all these camera before. I’m super digging the Polaroid colors, really gets you the old school vibe. But the Fuji is much more affordable ;-(
I had a basic Polaroid camera it was eventually stolen. Husband got me an instant Fuji mini 7s at the time . Photos too small, not great if friends are like 10 metres away hard to see faces . Seems like it’s only good up close. Relocating now just found the instax selling it and getting a Polaroid again. Never getting Fuji mini again, it’s so mini not worth it for me. I’m happy to get a used Polaroid older model as long as the quality is there and size of the Polaroid snaps
I think the polaroid produced the worse results. The frame borders don't look appealing. Especially with the newer models. Fuji Instax reigns supreme in my book.
Actually, believe it or not, older polaroids on eBay are pretty affordable. I got a near-mint condition Impulse-AF for 20 or 30 bucks. Also got an OK condition Polaroid 360 Land Camera for 25 bucks a week ago, though since expired film alone is 90 bucks, it's just there so my Impulse has a friend for the time being. But my Impulse (when cleaned) takes wonderful pictures. Best part is, there's still film for it under 90 bucks. (600 film goes for around 20 bucks)

Thank you for another great video, Taylor! For those thinking about getting an instant film camera, there is a small learning curve with framing due to the parallax effect (the rangefinder on these cameras is usually off to the side instead of centered with the lens). You will occasionally throw some photos away early on, but don't be discouraged! It's part of the journey/ hobby. And on the flip side, there will be times the picture turns out even better than you expected. Those surprises are what make all the duds/ "practice shots" worth it. Enjoy :)

I am a Polaroid user now, but first experienced instant photography with Instax Mini. I'll admit, at first, I was frustrated with Polaroid's quality. Mainly the color and crispiness of the image. Plus, it's very expensive film. But, I chose and stick to Polaroid because I want a bigger picture, plus, Polaroid is the OG instant camera. Also, Polaroid cameras are leaning to vintage looking than Fuji's very now approach. I love seeing comparisons like this, because, it shows why Polaroid is a standout. I personally prefer the Instax Mini 11, I want a quick, small camera that just instantly takes shots and prints it out without being too much of a burden to my bank account lmao
I am leaning towards the Lomo and Polaroid. The Lomo would be nice if it were square. So I think I’ll go for the Polaroid because it’s square and has more of the vintage vibe because of that slightly purplish filter. Thanks Taylor!

The Instax mini selfie mode can be a bit of a problem if you have short hands. Although it's said it can take pictures from as little as 30 cm, the flash makes it that those photos are often overexposed and it caused me to throw away a couple films ngl
I was about to buy an instant camera but I was youtubing and I saw someone has what looks like a printer that syncs up with your phone and you can print pics that you take with your phone. I'm thinking about getting that instead. Anyone have any thoughts? phone cameras are pretty good already.
tgo007 some people like the sentiment that each instant photo is unique and can’t be retaken. if that is not important to you and you prefer the ability to retake multiple times or to use your phone camera than an instant printer would be more along your lines
I'd say checkout the polaroid instant touch camera, it has bluetooth capability so you can use it both as a printer and as a camera. However, if picture size is important to you then some of the instant cameras might offer a better variety of options versus the printers. Hope this helps :) there are lots of options haha!
I personally just got the SQ1 for Christmas but after doing a little more research found that the SQ6 which is last years model and currently at the same price point if you can find it. The SQ6 is the same size but comes with a lot more options and features! If your thinking about buying one I would look into the SQ6 if you can find it definitely the better buy!!
After watching this i think i would get an instant camera for my channel to take pictures of each setup for each video and create a giant wall of pictures in my studio space.
Does anyone have any recommendations for getting the best shot on darker skin? My boyfriend, who is dark skinned, bought me a Polaroid Now which I love but we noticed that even in the brightest sun his features are harder to distinguish as the camera (I might not be using the right term here) doesn't have the best white balance? It's like it makes the darker colours darker and the lighter colours lighter? We obviously don't want his skin to look lighter or washed out at all, we still want his skin tone to appear as deep and beautiful as it is in real life but I was wondering if there's anything I can do to make the photos turn out better or if it's simply that the Polaroid Now is not suitable for dark skin tones. For example in one photo he was wearing a dark blue shirt and the photo was taken outside on a very sunny day, but the photo made his blue shirt and skin tone nearly the same. I have no experience with photography but it's been really disappointing seeing how little options there are with examples for dark skin tones. Luckily, he is the most handsome man alive and I still cherish all the photos I've taken of him and us
Hi, I might be wrong but it could be the actual film. Unfortunately a lot of companies don’t consider dark skin tones when configuring film production. This was actually a major issue when color film first came out and apparently it still is. Write a letter to them! It’s not fair!

I really like the photos taken with the fuji sq1, even the shape of the pics. Thanks for the great video.
@@kayanasmith4221 sq6 i'll keep that in mind
I had a polaroid that just stopped working.I love the film size and vintage feel but it is expensive and im not sure i wanna buy it again
After watching this i think i would get an instant camera for my channel to take pictures of each setup for each video and create a giant wall of pictures in my studio space.
oh, that's a super fun idea!
@@moment Wound tag you guys on IG when i begin.
You can also set the exposure compensation on the Polaroid Now (+1 or -1)
Does anyone have any recommendations for getting the best shot on darker skin?
