The reason the chemicals are black is to stop light from getting onto the film while the developing chemicals work their magic. Otherwise, the picture would instantly be ruined (like if you open a film camera). That top plastic layer actually contains an acid that causes the black stuff to turn transparent after a delay, revealing the picture that's developed underneath.
Thanks to you I bought Instax mini evo and I’m absolutely in love with it 😍😍. It has so many functions and filters… and the quality of the photos is pretty good. Really, thank you ♥️ PS sorry for my English, I’m from Poland and I understand everything what you say, but with writing and speaking it’s not that easy. You have so many tenses and it’s really hard and overwhelming to understand which should I use :/
Thanks, so it means, if I can guide the instax film inside a Polaroid camera and I can set the pressure between the Polaroid rollers to rip out the chemical-bags inside the Instax film I'll able to making photos on Instax film with my Polaroid camera (and I can keep lots of money in my pocket...)?!? :)
SDS (safety data sheet) is not included with the film. It does have a warning on the package about the highly alkaline paste and not to puncture unused or freshly used film.
This seems to be Instax Monochrome. Black and white is much less complex than color. Please open a color Instax paper to see how complicated it is. It has 18 layers to develop colors separately.
So that layer film is actually two layers of different kinds of film you have one layer that’s a negative and another layer that’s a direct positive it works based on something called direct negative positive transference from what I’ve read it’s really cool shit
Ink? ❌ Black Goo?✅ Thank you for this - was looking to cut one without ruining it to put in a small frame and knowing that it's hard to remove the layers had kinda convinced me to maybe do it??
I believe a main component of the reagent paste is potassium hydroxide, which is what makes this stuff very alkali. Wearing gloves was a very good idea for handling it.
I got some of the black liquid on on camera so is it safe to use and touch the spots that were on the liquid? I cleaned it after with towel and some soap but it left a stains
I wonder that goo develop on film. I remeber Polaroid film(not the paper) use black goo on their processing pack and became slide film after the goo dried and peeled.

Does the sds indicate what the black goo is?

The developed photo did look like it was in colour, the sky looks like it has a blue ish tinge to it
it it bad if the stuff got in someones mouth but they rinsed it out immediately
Venom in real life (not fake)
Austic like funggame????
you helped me to get out on my curiosity 🤣
I am glad that you enjoyed it:) Instax is a fun product!
Fuji is definitely making bank, those films are expensive for what they are
What happen if you squeeze the unexposed film
I try to squeeze the exposed film from the cartridge it actually works and it become developing brown

You can wash all the chemicals easily when The chemicals get your hand

Educational ! 😙🙏🏼
Thanks for watching!
Could you please do the same thing with I type Polaroid film. Supposedly there are red, yellow and blue filters inside. Thanks. Take care.
If you wash with water with an exposed film you will be shocked the film has been discolouredI try to soak in the water and it’s the same thing

Yes, the developing chemicals must be in the black goo.
Can you share with us about expired Instax Mini Film?
I feel like it the same thing
Wash the exposed film with hypo then you will get a negative
What does the bottom number inside the exposed film mean? And how do you read it?
OMG! 😨
Surprized?
I tried this with my film
Cool! Did you find out anything else?
Is there any alternative to 10 sheet film, to use in this camera? Film id too expensive.
No, that is the only film available for Instax cameras.
I have an image saved between the cell phone and the case, could the heat of the cell phone affect it?
It is possible, I have never tested that. But heat is generally bad for light sensitive materials.
