I absolutely adore and love the Instax line. It captures what film photography was years back, I remember my parents taking a lot of time to get the perfect framing up the shot before taking it. I let my mother use my Mini to take a photo and it was like second nature to her, there were a couple of shots that weren't great but the framing was spot on. The memories taken with these cameras are priceless
Really great tips! My Instax Mini 90 is on the way and I'm really hoping it can reignite the passion I had for photography pre smart phone. We'll see! Thanks for the video
You have to remember that instant film follows film photography rules, you can’t fix it in post. If your subject is backlit, use flash. If it’s too bright/not cloudy hold your sunglasses in front of the lens to work like an ND filter. Use your hand above the lens (like how you would use it to shield sun from your eyes) to shield some overhead light and get a better exposure of things like the Disney castle. Focus on the darkest part of your picture to get the exposure right.
Thanks for the tips! Just got a mini90 and have been loving taking imperfect setting photos, cant imagine the fun after I get more practice 😂. Appreciate the help!
@@themysteriousfox3767 But it has a successor, the 99 (for the same price the 90 was sold). And it has more setting options than the 90. The SQ1 or 40 both do not have any manual options.
Thanks for the tips, recently picked up a SQ6 second hand, I would have gone for the mini90 but I really like the square format! I only wish Instax put all the features like long exposure and retro design from the mini90 on the sq6, would have been the PERFECT camera.
I saw your video on tiktok and went here to watch your videos. Thank you for the tips & tricks on instax photography. I hope more videos abt. Instax soon.
OMG i love you,re photo,s😱 i have the instax mini 40. I love the camera. I can,t live whitout it. I whised my parents bought me one wen i was 12 or 13 along whit drawing and painting suplies 😊👋🏾✌🏾😁👍🏾
SQ6 for bigger size. I like taking photos of not just people, but also landscapes and objects so the square format allows for more flexibility. Also reminiscent of when Instagram was square photos only!
Thanks for the tips. I bought an instax recently. Do the prints on the films remain intact if we keep them safe in albums? Or do they lose vibrance or fade away?
i just recently bought the sq40. there are times when i take a photo, the subject is not in the center. how do i ensure that the subject is at the center when i take a photo?
Just remembered I have a Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 lying around in my house. If you want to get the photos in digital form, do you just scan them onto your computer?
Thank you so much for this video! I ended up getting the Mini 90, and I have a question. I seem to be unable to combine the Macro mode with the Lighten Plus mode. I can combine Macro with Lighten or Darken just fine. Are you supposed to be able to combine the Macro with Lighten Plus??? Thank you so much in advance! :0)
Omg 😭 I wish I saw this video earlier this morning I took three pictures and they were okay and then like 20 minutes ago I took two and they were terrible 😭 it was all black except for the lights from the bridge

You can also experiment with the bulb mode or the light and light plus modes to get brighter photos in shady areas or at dusk.
@@0.palineglad I came across your comment! I shall keep your pointers in mind when using my instax!

Appreciate the tips! These were really nice and hopefully will save me some film
thank you! hope you get some nice shots!
Thanks for the tips. First time getting into photography
Awesome! It’s a great hobby to do :)
Sad they discontinued the SQ6. Now Instax mini is the only format Fuji offers modes that make shooting fun like double exposure.
Fingers crossed for a new model
They've discontinued the mini 90 as well. :(

I was just looking for this video!
Welcome!
I opted for an SP3 Fuji Square printer and use my FujiFilm X100V and iPhone to send to the printer using BW film. Very happy with that set up
That sounds like a good set up. Would love to own a X100V one day
Wow, that's a lot more than I take. Congrats!
Instax are so fun to shoot! I always feel like the photos develop better (and faster) than Polaroid.
Watching this because i have both 💛
it is great to have options :)

Great tips and thanks for showing the photos. Not many do.

They do lose vibrance overtime, I recommend keeping them out of sunlight
thanks for the reply. keep clicking :)@@nicomadic6479
We had some on our fridge, after 5 years they quite faded (the bits under the magnet are still full colour)
i just recently bought the sq40. there are times when i take a photo, the subject is not in the center. how do i ensure that the subject is at the center when i take a photo?
The viewfinder is to the side of the lens so it may take some practice to get the subject centered
Just remembered I have a Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 lying around in my house. If you want to get the photos in digital form, do you just scan them onto your computer?
I think scanning should work! I don’t have a scanner so I had to use my phone/camera to take photos for the video
@@nicomadic6479 Thanks!!
@@unproductiveworkshop there are pretty nifty apps for your phone that allow you to scan them in easily!

Depends on what you’re trying to accomplish?

Honestly I never tried using lighten plus macro. Usually I try to get my lighting as good as possible when taking a picture

Aw it’s ok! I have some bad photos too trust me.
10 years and only 400 instant photos. Thata not much for 10 years. Although your photos are VERY good.
It seems like a lot to other people!
Obviously you have no fucking idea how expensive film is. Calm down Jamal. And 400 is a lot, especially in our digital world today. Stfu
That’s 400$ worth of film dawg
Worst comment ever. This video was so helpful
You just like being a hater huh?
because Netflix 😆
I pay for a pack of 2 films 16,50
Well, even of you didnt like the sunset Photo, I liked it 🫠
