When you realise one of the greatest movies that 1. Exploded the MCU 2. Gave RDJ his comeback 3. Set a tone for future superhero movies/shows Was basically an improv 🤣🤣🤣
The tone part is the issue honestly because instead of borrowing the team's process Marvel tried to strictly script in the results, quips included, regardless of film.
Also to say it didn't cost any extra is disingenuous. Paying crew for time they aren't actually working while you fumble around trying to create a script isn't exactly cost saving lmaooo
And Bridges is being modest. He was a pretty big part of why it was great. "Tony Stark was able to build this in a cave!” *pause* “With a box of scraps!"
Makes sense when he was yelling at the scientist about making the Arc Reactor. That Tony made it in a cave with a box of scraps that sounds completely improvised
They're dancing around it, but usually when the script is being "written on set" that means the studio is butting heads with the filmmakers. Changes and compromises are being made. It's not that the script wasn't written beforehand, it's more that it's being adjusted throughout, which is actually very common.
I distinctly remember going into this movie thinking it would be another mediocre super hero movie. Maybe even the last we'd see of Marvel for a while. Two decades later I still get pumped for the next theater experience with my family.
Not more than RDJ. Less Than Zero, Chaplin, Tropic Thunder, he's played many diverse roles, unfortunately too many people only know him for Tony Stark or Sherlock.

Wish most Marvel Movies went back to this Formula.
Except with a script this time....
That’s art baby! Lol
The tone part is the issue honestly because instead of borrowing the team's process Marvel tried to strictly script in the results, quips included, regardless of film.
They outsourced the writing, to people more qualified (experienced actors) at no additional cost. genius.
Experienced actors are not always more qualified writers lmao wut

He was brilliant in that movie, not unlike most of his roles. Amazing actor!
Tony Stark was able to build this in a cave! With a box of scraps!
*tie goes flyin*
Stop
Bunch*
But sir im not Tony Stark
It’s a great line, he played the role perfectly, to a “T”!
Biggest thing I took from this is John favreau is just a freaking cool cat that brings minds together
Y'all created absolute perfection without scripts
And yet it has better 'writing' than many of the Marvel films that had scripts
Multiverse of Madness “script” lol
@@Crusader2012 That movie was the most frustrating of Marvel's due to the fact that it had soooooooo much potential that was squandered.
Sometimes, having less choices is actually better and striving for perfection becomes the enemy of good.
@@billywashere6965 You can guarantee that to be the case for any MCU project since Endgame.
What’s crazy is that in terms of “writing”, it really is the best Marvel movie.
And Bridges is being modest. He was a pretty big part of why it was great. "Tony Stark was able to build this in a cave!” *pause* “With a box of scraps!"
That’s what happens when people relax and let their creativity thrive
@@prdoyle My favorite line! :)
Agreed 100%

To an extent,
Best. Student. Film. Ever.
Jeff Bridges is a GOD! I'd watch him shred paper for hours!
A god? LOL
Uhhhh....papers...papers, my buisness papers...and also my rug.
@@bobabooey4537 yes... a god. An above average one as well.
Tommyknockers remake?! I'm in!
Hahahaha
You could only get away with this if you have phenomenal actors, which is what they had for sure.
And a very good director
I distinctly remember going into this movie thinking it would be another mediocre super hero movie. Maybe even the last we'd see of Marvel for a while. Two decades later I still get pumped for the next theater experience with my family.
Marvel died with Tony.
No script but great film nonetheless.
They did the same thing on the set of The Fugitive, with Harrison Ford. It won an Oscar. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is an insane story
It is one of the absolute best Marvel movies, this is true.
My favorite movie!!
I'm not a big bridges fan but he did do a great job in this character
The Funny thing is that the movie Gladiator had same issue and it was one of the best movies ever.
Agreed. Sometimes true art becomes apparent in the heat of the process.
Jeff was able to do this in a set! With a bunch of scripts!😉
john favreau really is a special talent -
Wouldv'e been great if Howard let him tell a complete story
It’s not in Howard’s nature. It’s his show, he talks.
@@davidthompson184 He. Knows what he's doing
Best Marvel movie. First Avengers may tie.
How did this movie turn out so damn GOOD?
First IronMan, First Captain America, First Thor = Masterpiece
The first Captain America was in 1977.
I'm always shocked when I see that anyone liked the first Thor.... Or any Thor.
@@jimmyrodriguez5670 Are you referring to Eric Kramer from The Incredible Hulk Returns?
...which reminds us to mention that Thor was first introduced in 1988, which we mentioned above.
@@sfpincchicago you don't even know what MCU means... do you?
Pressure makes diamonds
Jeff Bridges has as much range as RDJ and Dustin Hoffman…maybe more.
I’d say more
@@happydayz7857 Definitely more.
Range? RDJ? Lol.
Not more than RDJ. Less Than Zero, Chaplin, Tropic Thunder, he's played many diverse roles, unfortunately too many people only know him for Tony Stark or Sherlock.
No script and STILL better then Captain Marvel
Still that movie holds very well.. Love the colours and visuals..
Best marvel movie and there was no script. Tells you that the best stuff is created on the spot
That's amazing considering how good the movie came out...
It’s so hard to get a movie greenlit and yet many of the movies aren’t even done when they start
I want Jeff Bridges to read me a bedtime story
Is Kevin fiege the nerdy suit he’s talking about that’s saying “well actually iron monger wouldn’t…🤓”
If he could have direct films, we would have witnessed "Amateur Spiderman"
How do you greenlight a movie without a script? Student films at least have scripts.
Trusting in the skills of the actors and director.
Well top making scripts immediately! Gladiator also had no script btw.. two of the best movies produced the last 20 years..
Jaws, Casablanca, Gladiator , Lawrence Of Arabia - incomplete scripts.
Weird Beautiful Profession.
Tony Stark built this in a cave with a box of scraps!!!
33 1/3.🎬
That’s why this is one of the only good MCU movie, most of them are easily forgotten films that are almost worth watching once.
Sometimes the actors understand the characters better than the writers.
🤘
still has better writing than all dc movies.
cool
“The pizza stays with me then, ok you can have a piece, take two…
Everything just felt so natural and real. Bridges was incredible.
Plead the 5th.
Thats funny jeff calls them "the suits"
That's why "The mEsSaGe" isn't there
Shore the seas #WC wit it .... slurk slow.. #BigCat Q's #Give me the loot. Give me the loot.
Ok,....third.
The future of Marvel and the MCU depended on this movie and they didn’t have a script?

First
Robert Downey was just playing himself.

How did Obadiah reach Tony's house before Pepper.

I heard a few years ago Jeff Bridges died, wtf
The MCU was built on a movie without a script. Take notes DCU. 🤣
You don’t need a full script , it’s all made up
