This song makes me cry. See Im a former addict. One night I was chillin with my little brother and this was during my addiction and he played this song and told me that I was a big part of his life and that he wished I was free from my addiction. He looked upto me and he was afraid of losing me to my addiction. That was 2 years ago. I am sober and it was my little brother's word that really helped me.. all because of this song.
Enjoy them. I have been listening since the early 90's. They have never let me down. Joe Lies is a great video. Have a wonderful journey though your punk of late 80s , and 90s punk. You will feel welcome
Hey, where have you gone? You used to be the one That we looked up to Seemed like nothing could break you down How high was your price? Was it worth it? Nothing in life is a sure bet anyway, you're gone Guess you weren't here from the start In the end Its all a question of heart Hey, where have you gone? You used to be the one That we looked up to Seemed like nothing could break you down How high was the price? And was it worth it? Nothing in life is a sure bet anyway, you're gone I guess you were here from the start In the end Its all a question of heart Hey, where did it go? Everything we fought for And everything it meant, Maybe we were just naive But I still believe There are only a few things That really belong to make who I am Who I was Who I want to be Who I want to be Hey, where have I gone? I used to be the one Looking for a hero In some far off place Blindly ever forward Never knowing all along The truth was right here in my own song
Sort of like "believe in yourself, because in the end, you won't be able to count on anyone else." I know I've commented more than once in the past two months on the same video, but it just never fails to hit home. Inspirational song from an inspirational band.
This is a masterpiece and the lyrics are so meaningful. Music like this is so underrated compared to all the rap and techno pop from modern day. True believers forever!!!
The year was 2002. I wandered into a record store and bought Punk-o- Rama 5 on a whim. Kid was my first introduction to the Bouncing Souls and I've been in love ever since.
I have to give it to The Bouncing Souls. To go so far with just 1riff/song. Please, don't get me wrong, I like these guys. I went to see them in Pomona's fare grounds, along with other bands I like. I got into them when I was in my early 20's. I'm now 53 yrs old and I still enjoy listening to them and even playing along with them. Then it dawn to me. Dame Drew. You could've done the same thing. I was just thinking to hard. Trying to be clever. Who would've known. Anyhow. Happy New Year to all . God Bless The Bouncing Souls. Cheers from Bridgetown CA SGV/USA. LA Puente'sOG Shinkheads. The Victory . Urban Noise Production ✌️ 🇺🇸🎸🍻🛠🙏🇲🇽
Wow, I never thought I'd see two people connect in any meaningful way over youtube comments. This is kinda like finding a diamond ring in the trash. The Bouncing Souls really are an inspirational band. There's something about them that always gives off good vibes.
Thanx for keeping punk rock alive! keep us updated on when you start recording and touring!!!You are light years ahead of the world ,so keep working hard, you can do anything you want (as you already know)... Maybe you can get to be the first punk performance on Mars? Anyway Thanx for putting your music out there., that takes guts!!! oi,oi oi
Pretty profound song compared to the empty crap that gets pushed out by most artists these days. Don't spent your life looking for a hero to live up to your ideals when you can be that hero yourself.
But the world already had this message from another great punk band in the late 70s early 80s. Look at Nobody's Hero, from Stiff Little Fingers. Bouncing Souls are great too though, all their music is always so positive...
That or maybe someone who decided to leave everything behind and do better. This song honestly makes me think of my cousin who passed away a year ago. Introduced me to Punk rock. Decided to leave the "punk" life behind and live in the real world to better himself
You know. I've gone through alot of ups and downs these past few years. I overcame suicidal thoughts, cutting, Self-loathing. I got up and made something of myself. You know. And Right now I'm at another low point. Going through the loss of a great friend with whom I had stronger feelings for. She is a great person, and She made me feel better about myself and gave me more self-confidence. And this song definitely makes 100% sense to me now. The Bouncing Souls are the best. hands down
@restrictionsband are you kidding there are other genres in far worse situations than punk. there will always be punk bands in the future keeping the torch alive dont you worry, its the blues and funk genres that need to be worried, they're unfortunately dead RIP....but punk will survive it might be crappy pop punk like green day but at least punk has made it through these tough times!! :)
Song seems ro talk about bands selling out, but they also wear big business band hoodies,Sick of it All etc .. confusing.... great band though, and people, met them a few times in leeds and London

Well done dude! Now your little bro can look up to you again

Aghast at the fact this band with this music was never a major Top 40 hit. Such great tunes. Thanks boys. Thank you over and over.
Still listen to these guys on a daily basis, they help me through my work day and remind me of simpler times I miss \m/\m/ 9/15/20

Absolutely agree.. too much underrated ... I feel sad for them
They really created their own sound and themes that no other band of the genre had. They will always be special

Great band. Reminds me of the late 90's. Always made me want to skate and hit that next crooked grind. Thanks for the memories. Nostalgic
Stumbled upon these guys 29 years ago at a small club In Bakersfield, CA. I will never forget this band and that night.

This song breaks open the heart of anyone who has been let down by someone they idolised once.
That or maybe someone who decided to leave everything behind and do better. This song honestly makes me think of my cousin who passed away a year ago. Introduced me to Punk rock. Decided to leave the "punk" life behind and live in the real world to better himself
