I just got my 212 a few days ago. I am proceeding to install it onto my Coleman ct100u. Your setup is the best I've seen so far after removing the governor ( pain in the ass). No crap in the way just make your subtle adjustments, and you're hauling ass in no time!
Did this to mine and it looks way better then having all the useless arms and springs that no longer get used when you remove the governor . Looks like it was made that way
@@KartArt what drill bit did u use what tools did u use could u give me a list of all the tools u used for this I need to get the tools u have to get my mini bike working thanks 😊
So i just baught a used mini z for my son. At about 3/4 to full throttle the engine "surges" for lack of a better term. I think its the governor. Is this set up what i should do to solve the problem. Please help😊
Hi my name is David I did what you said on the video to bypass the governor with the cable right to the governor it ran for a day next day I try to start it and it was like frozen took the plug out had no problem turning it over valves open and closing put the plug back in will not the pull cord is stuck did i blow the engine but take the plug out turn over no problem put plug in it it is very hard to pull will not start please help me please ty
Matthew Pohl Yes on this predator i removed the governor and then created the new linkage. I have another video showing how to retain the governor and adjust it to 5k rpm.
It improves speed and the amount of fun you fucking have with the thing....the cheap ass engine is reliable as it needs to be either way ...if it blew the fuck up you spend $100 and get another one....
Do you need to remove the governor to do the setup? I dont want to remove the governor but i want to take the rod my engine has and just remove it and use that to make the new linkage
Juan Lopez yes removing the governor is necessary to do this throttle setup. Always best to completely remove the governor. Dont leave any of that garbage in the engine. The glvernor rod can actually hit the crank if left in the engine
Kart Art ,, my pedal moves the throttle cable and all but it doesn’t move the carburetor , nothing is attached to it and i see a little hole and nothing is attached, what is it missing, and i can move the carburetor manually and it recoils and all
Juan Lopez watch the video again and you will see me bending a rod that attaches the arm to the carb. Without it the carb wont actually move and accelerate the kart
ey man , we took the governor out and the engine seems to be running not correctly, the go kart is spurting some smoke and the engine doesnt seem the be revving at the rpms that it was before(the go karts really slow). where did we fuck up pls help
If you just remove the governor gear on the crank you really don't need to remove the rest of the governor parts and it saves time not having to fabric parts.
@@ReisterJP actually the case is so soft the bolt will tap it on the way in. I just use thread sealer from arp and let her rip. Never had one leak or back out
BYPASSING the Governor! Not removing it. __FYI: You DO NOT need to remove the governor after the control arm (the long metal arm where he got the long spring from) is disconnected. It will spin freely inside of the crankcase. If you want to open the crankcase and remove it, go ahead but don't let anybody tell you its necessary. __Note that if you do leave the governor in, the control arm (long metal arm where he got the long spring from) will still move since the tab inside of the crankcase will still push it. Your governor is still working; its just not applying force on the carburetor (since you removed the long spring). __If anything, remove the governor control arm from the top and save it.
@@KartArt If you're inside of the crankcase and want to remove it, then proceed. My comment was directed towards others (in the comments and other videos) who stated that the governor HAD TO be removed.

Great presentation! Just what I needed to know after I removed the governor.
This is a really nice setup. There's nothing else to buy. And 2 throttle return springs are better than one.
This is clean. I’ll be doing it once I finish the governor removal. Thanks
Best method I have seen so far. Thank you.
I just set this up and it works great. The only issue i have the relatively short throw of the throttle.
Kent Campbell then you didn’t bend correctly I had the same issue...rebent
Finally. The video I needed

Excellent vid thank u
So for this setup do I have to remove the governor?
Is it important to make another hole for the barrel nut? Because I can just install the barrel nut from the original hole.
You don't have to use another hole but I found it works the best that way. The most important thing is that it rotates easily and doesn't bind at all.

Honestly i prefer removing it just in case. Besides the stock predator is just begging to be opened up for a new cam anyways
