I almost didn't look up a video for this. I just got my engine delivered yesterday im going to use for a mini bike build. Kinda wanna just wing it and learn as I go. Also I don't have any of these parts so I'm most likely going to improvise and figure something out. I do have a twist throttle kit I bought but its just the grips and a cable.
I can't quite figure out what this adds to the original provision for a throttle cable that comes with the engine. My best guess is to change where the cable leaves the engine? That must be wrong, however, because before you cut it, you had more than adequate cable to reach the cable connection provided with the engine. I watched it twice, thinking I missed something, but so far, I'm not sure what the point of the plate is, outside of changing where the cable is oriented in relation to the engine.
This is a kit that we buy as a package. Due to the variances in the different engines, additional screws are not included as they are not always required
His tip of robbing the two screws then simply replacing them with the shorter ones takes about 20 seconds. Easy fix. My kit went on perfectly. Minor nuisance when these engines vary so much
Hey man I was wondering where you got the plate that guides the throttle cable? I'm looking for one to use on my honda GX160 since I believe the predators share similar dimensions to the hondas. Thanks for all the useful info either way!
everyone disconnects those hoses.. its a racing setup. Youll see people with clear lines with little mini air filters hooked to them. Its better for the motor to have those lines open like you have them to get air into the gas tanks.. they need breathers. Its shown and explained here: ua-cam.com/video/3lOw3Gml5N8/v-deo.html
I have the same engine in a NEW leaf blower. It starts fine but the throttle will not stay in the full position. I can hold it and its fine but once i let it go it falls back to the medium throttle position. Any suggestion on adjusting.
@@TheGrayGoatGarage im not getting full throttle out of my 459 and if screw the throttle to where i do get max throttle i have no idle. Have any idea how to fix this ?
ua-cam.com/video/hzu-FC66Nw4/v-deo.html. You can't really see it in this video but I'm getting a bit of black smoke. If I run the twist on muffler pipe it leaves soot on the frame. Is this a carb issue? I can't see it as I ride but I think it's at idle mostly. I changed the idle jet and I'm running a 37 main in a pk1b.
It sounds like you are on point with the jetting. Please keep in mind that the engine needs to have a load on it to get the jetting correct. That is not something you can do by free revving the engine as the fuel requirement is much less without a load. The only way to truly know is to look at the spark plug. If it has black soot on it, you are running rich. I hope you are not running the stock spark plug. Those plugs are mediocre at best! Don't be concerned with the number on the jet, be concerned with how the engine runs! I have a similar engine that loves a .036 and another that likes a .038. Pull the plug and send me a pic to HELP@OMBWarehouse.com

@@fatbuddycat What are those Autolite x plugs? I cant find them. Another guy in the comments said to get Autolite X plugs and look for 3934x and that it runs warm and that the 3910x runs cold and is more for wide open racing. However I cant seem to find a "Autolite X 3934x" or "Autolite X 3934" plug.. That cold beverage sure makes things go together in a smooth way. Thanks for the video/info.
I've looked at 1 million videos to find this one. Thaks for being knowledgeable and sharing your fixes with me.

Im doing exactly what your doing its a very easy process and you shouldnt need a video its super simple
Looks just like my tuck n run (for ungoverned engines) but backwards.
PS its always a 1 beverage job at least.

Just subscribed bud..You make great videos that are easy to follow..keep up the great work!!
A closer view would be great!, to see what you are expecting. Ty.
If I had a camera crew I would love to do that!
Please link me to your videos so I can get some tips from you.

Awesome, just ordered one!
$30 for this kit and OMB cant include the 2 screws you need?

I think your video is informative but your close ups needs to be wayyyy closer so we can have a better view of your installs.

Thanks for the help, & enjoying your little jokes 😆
Thanks for making this! Its easy once you C How! 😜
Whats the deal with the rod ? Didnt explain about it
What size Allen is the set screw for the cable?
What is the hose that connect to the air filter and gas tank coz mine is disconnected but it still runs

I have more throttle travel than pedal travel. How do I adjust without starting it with clutch engagement
I have a Doodlebug and just have the throttle through the retaining clamp and the throttle tube is a heavy turn. Does this make it easier?
Anyway you guys could make a vid on the ungoverned linkage? just because this one was super informative. Thanks guys!
Hi Rico, that is on my list! We have been so busy with everyone on quarantine that I have not had any spare time for that one! Soon! I promise!
can you guys make a new video for this it's not that easy to install I'm confused and this don't really help much I have a Honda gx200
How do you put together the throttle kit
Sorry but I’m a little confused how do I tighten the set screw 13:53
Already asked, but not replied to. What size is the allen for the throttle cable clevis? 1.5mm is too small, and 2mm is too big…
That allen screw is a #6-32
Does this throttle setup work with ungoverned engine
Can I have the link for this kit please?
I gotta ask does thus bypass the governor or what is the purpose bc I would like to get one ?
This is for the 212 if you still have the governor installed. There are a few videos on how to remove it.
Can this work on a 224
It matches his cast....poor little fella 😒.
where do you get the assembly?
with a cast on he gets her done
What is the name of that red throttle connection you’re putting on your 212 or the proper name for it if I’m trying to search to buy the same one?
Vagina
arent those compression connections? yea.. pretty sure theyre vagina compressions.
I ordered two of these and neither came with the set screw for the cable? What should I do in this case
Send me an email at HELP@OMBWarehouse.com and I will take care of you. The set screw is a #6-32
Is that the screw for the cable clamp? Coz i lost mine today after ordering a new cable and now im screwed...
Where do I get this kit?
Will this work on a predator 459
No. This is for the smaller engines only. I am not aware of any linkage available for the big engines

It is not necessary, but it does make for a nicer operating throttle!
