He's my favorite drummer😊
Ray was such a good add to this band, it was like having your favorite football team draft a really good player to fill in that spot that was very needed. Korn drafted a absolutely fantastic jaw dropping drummer, and us Korn fans are so glad and blessed to have gotten this man. I miss David’s groove but after all the shit that was going on it was unfortunate to say it wasn’t gonna go far. Love ray and love people are finally showing the love back.

Ok, so I should’ve waited to the end to comment. Lesson learned lol. Ray Luzier is one of my favorite drummers. I know everyone’s got their own taste, but I’d definitely recommend digging some more. Not just with Korn, but some of his KXM stuff is really cool too. This is early Ray, he’s grown a lot since this was put out. Much love brotha!
Beginner level LMAO 🤣 first review of yours and last. Please upload your video reproducing this. This dude is freak of talent, technique, groove and chops. He attended MIT in LA. They made him an instructor after a semester. Toured with David Lee Roth for 8 years. Was part of a super group with the brothers from Stone Temple Pilots on and on his resume is insane.
Just saw Ray, Jay Weinberg and Mike Portney all did a tribute to Alex Van Halen for Modern Drummers introduction to the drumming hall of fame. He's a real beginner.
Well Colby (here we go again), you’re somewhat of a beginner. So why don’t you give this 15 year old medley a shot … live … with an audience … in one take … and with those “lesser stick tricks” & “easy beginner fills”. Do that and you have certainly dug way deeper then you think 👍🏻

He couldn’t because his timing is all over the place from the two covers I watched. I place bass and guitar and this guy would drive me insane with his pompous, arrogant mediocrity.
@@Purgespectator45679 Haha, he has driven me insane! This is not the first “negative comment” I’ve placed, and I’ve said to myself that I just should leave it alone. But he constantly keeps finding new ways to insult drummers (& musicians). And at times I just can’t keep quiet. I’m an adult that has always been opposed to willed ignorance (wherever it may show itself) and I feel somewhat of a responsibility for what drumming really is about (which is to say that it’s not an Olympic clinical speed contest with flare & tricks) 👊🏻😂

I found this video of Ray maybe 2 years ago and since then it's been a top 3 drum video. I don't know why I think that, and I know that there are sooo many other drummers that are so much better than him. I guess it's his engagement, energy, and power he puts in on it. Kind of a "this is the last time you'll ever going to play the drums, show 'em kid!"

i wasnt actually into metal when these guys were around, back then i was into The Prodigy, Electro, Drum and Bass / Ragga / Rave then eventually Trance and Psy Trance, these days i enjoy all kinds of music with the premise that is has to have big energy and a good pace

Beginner level? Dam 😂, for a start every song you heard he wasn’t a part of recording. He was pretty much staying true to original recordings. Check out kxm or newer Korn since he joined

Hes obviously very good also as david silveria was/is but I prefer david becauee i saw them live more than 20+yrs ago so david has nostalgia with me personally but this guy is a beast himself too

But the early Korn before 2008 David did really well but hands down Ray kicks ass with Korn
Ray is very good...excellent technique and style. I never really checked him out close up like this, but always liked Korn. The 'palm on the cymbal bell' thing - I first observed Carmine Appice doing it back in 1983 on one of his instruction videos. I have only seen a handful of drummers do it. It's quiet overall, but sounds cool. The 'his fills are simple' comment: Really? It is one thing to count the notes of a fill and call it 'simple', but the control, execution, and how/where it is used are far from simple in my opinion. Taste, style, and skill play big in rating a drummer.

Ray is awesome!!! I hate David had to go because he supplied korn with a certain groove and sound that only he had! With that being said ray has always been one of my favorites….and David Silveria is one of the reasons i even picked up the drumsticks! Silveria was just different man….

Sadly what Ray played here (very well) was his take on someone else's music. Ray's a monster and you should definitely check out music featuring Ray playing his own stuff or the KoRn music HE wrote with the band. KXM or anything but him playing David's music. So although I think anything he does is brilliant this isn't really a fair assessment of Ray's talent or capabilities. Ray's a monster drummer of finesse technique power and dynamics! Love Ray! Also Tim (,Herb) Alexander and "I'm a guitar player" btw
