isn't there a way to connect both the batteries at the same time to the controller? So you don't have to switch between them, and they also both charge at the same time.....
To discharge yes you can, but the batteries have to match ah, and when change fully they have to be within 2amps of each other or you will have major problems. But to charge them it has to be separated.
Put a wye cable so both batteries are being used at once, it’ll keep the temperatures down and you won’t have to switch later because you are already running them in parallel 👍🏾
I can’t understand why 73 didn’t do a swap battery for this bike, the default range is so inpractical, I mean yes sell complete bike is better for the company, instead of selling batts, but overall I think they could get more customers. I was thinking to get this bike, but I came from esk8 scene where we have 45-50km ranges and 20-25km it seems like a joke for actual ebike.
It's a custom light I made that has an led tail light and runs off its own battery, head light is 1050 lumens and battery run time is like 20 hours. When I get time I can make a video but I sold the Z1. Thanks for watching
Hi Brian, I’ve recently bought a Z1, called a ZG over here in the UK. Enjoyed your video for extending the range. One question; is there a technical reason why you didn’t connect the two batteries in parallel so you don’t need to unplug one and then plug the other in. If they are the same voltage I can’t see why you wouldn’t do that.
Thank you for checking out my videos. To answer your question, to run to batteries together they need to match on volts and ah, the second battery I installed is a larger ah. Stock battery is 11.5 ah my second is a 15ah.
I've looked into that, finding a switch is the hard part, most switchs are for boats and stuff that run dual batteries, many limit out at 24v they also seem to be very large ( about the size of the palm of your hand ) and I wasn't sure where to mount it, and this way I did it was free. Lol.. if you find a switch please share many others would like to see that I am sure.. thanks for watching.

Anyone know if the whole battery can be removed and relocated? Or just use the strapped one? I live in intense heat. need something quick for the summer.
There is, but the only switch I found was a battery isolator type switch they they use in boats and rv's . They where big and I didn't think it would be are that great. There might be other switch's out there but I gave up looking. If you find one it have to be rated for over 36v as a fully charged 36v Ebike battery is 42v I believe. What type of headlight do you use on you Z1.
I made it, 1050 lumens, rear led tail light, and runs off a small separate battery, 20+ hours of run time
Will this work for the 73 Z Miami also?
I can’t understand why 73 didn’t do a swap battery for this bike, the default range is so inpractical, I mean yes sell complete bike is better for the company, instead of selling batts, but overall I think they could get more customers. I was thinking to get this bike, but I came from esk8 scene where we have 45-50km ranges and 20-25km it seems like a joke for actual ebike.
Any information on how to dual battery an S2 , would love to double my range on my bike.
Not at this time, I don't have an S2 to see what needs done . Sorry
Thx great video help me a lot
can you do a video on how to setup and install the light on the front of the z1
It's a custom light I made that has an led tail light and runs off its own battery, head light is 1050 lumens and battery run time is like 20 hours. When I get time I can make a video but I sold the Z1. Thanks for watching
@@briandhoward6137 thank you for watching
super job! best for You!
thank you..
So when charging do you have to charge separately or charging one also charges the other !?
They have there own charger for each battery, they run separately and charge separately. Thanks for watching
Do you think this would still work fine if I put a 30ah 36volt battery ?? Instead of the 12ah
Absolutely it would, the AH on a battery is like the battery fuel tank, the bigger the ah the bigger the fuel tank , ah will only affect range
Hi Jonathan
Did you connect second battery to you ZG?
@@naderdaib8929 I didn’t. It stays in during the winter. I think I’m just going to upgrade to a better model.
I was thinking of doing something similar but with a 3 position switch so it's all self-contained.
@@briandhoward6137 - Will do, might take a dig through the Grainger catalog.
@@bandwagon240 nice , I'd be curious to see if you can find anything I only kind of checked Amazon I didn't dig super-deep
Would this be the same thing in an RX?
I believe so, I have seen people add a second to the RX
@@briandhoward6137 awesome do you know if adding another battery will add more speed too?
@@HungryYett it will not just more range .
Does dual battery make it faster?
No, just more range. But you can speed hack the z1. I have a video on that also
@@briandhoward6137 I watched that video by you like 5 minutes ago itsna lot of work which is fine with me but only for a 3 to 2 mph different its not that worth it
Thanks for Upload.Good Work 👍👍 fantastic 👍👍
Thank you
It is a great idea and tutorial. Thank you so much for the video. I wish there was a like button 👍
Great mod. Video was a bit long for something that simple but thanks for making it.
Wanted to make sure I explained it well, so everyone could get it . Thanks for watching
What link in the description is to the battery used in the video

In your video it looks like your using the 2nd link that you posted in the description
@@javiercastanon9085 nope new link
I want to know how to get light connect using the battery on this Z1 model.
I wish I could tell you. I built my own light set up. Sorry
@@briandhoward6137 I notice the inside of the seat has an extra connector. Is that for connecting to a light??
@@ien2023 it is. 1050 lumens 24 hours run time
@@briandhoward6137 Can you send me a light link I can use for that connector insde the seat?
How do I order the battery you sell? I’d like to do dual battery’s and help support your channel too. Thanks

And when it is raining?
It's not really a waterproof safe connection🤔
Nice, how can I order a battery from you and how much

Thank you :)

Gracias x tu vídeo amigo.

Is the frame reliable on this bike?
It definitely was for me. I think the only problems I have with the frames are on the newer model full suspension bikes
@briandhoward6137
Hmm is the older models using steel while the newer models use aluminum?
@@Mash3OH3 the OG super 73 where steal, but when they went mass production they swapped to aluminum.
@briandhoward6137
Oh okay I'm not down for aluminum at all. I prefer steel.
So I'll probably go ZooZ bike instead for their 4130 cromoly steel
@briandhoward6137
Btw do you by chance know If they ship or deliver to canada?
Great idea 👍
Thank you
AWESOME we are going riding when this covid crap is over
Absolutely
THENEWWRANGLER even now yo, you do not have to get close to anyone!
I’ve been looking at the Z1, but sitting on the battery, quite literally, is giving me pause. If the pack malfunctions, it doesn’t seem like a super safe spot to be, no? Not trying to go from Mike to Michelle.
Lol
Can I recharge 2nd battery through the built in charging port if that battery is connected to the control module through the Anderson Plug.
You, the way the wiring is done the charging goes right to the stock battery
What if water hits it
Can you put shocks on the front?
Your link us misleading. I bought a battery from your link and found there's no charger. The pic shows there's a charger and other peoeple received a charger. The connection head is not even there. its not returnable. you need to remove that link.
This is the first time that I she heard of this happening, also the link is 2 years old. Others have used it in the past and no issues. Also you can buy a charger it's a very simple task. I'll remove the link
Anyone know if the whole battery can be removed and relocated? Or just use the strapped one? I live in intense heat. need something quick for the summer.
You can do anything you like, I have seen some mount it under the seat
Would it work for the s1.
Only if you cut the stock battery wires and add a plug,
I got my battery but it didn’t come with the Anderson Connectors. So now I have to buy the tools and the connectors and do all EXTRA work myself 😑
This is the first time I have seen this happen, it's a very easy job, take 5 min it's not a lot of work. Next time reach out to me via email.
Where is the link to the correct battery to buy?
I believe it's in the description
@@briandhoward6137 The one in your description does not look like it has the red and black wire needed to connect the motor.
@@rufio9085 I has them, also just to be safe request Anderson connections, or I can get you a battery
Brian D Howard how much? And it will have the Anderson cables? I love north loop mn
Hi soz, is it possible to get a link for battery? Pretty please

What Brake light and tail light do you have?
It's a custom front light I made, the rear light it just something I got off amazing.
Is there any way to install a switch? Can someone show a diagram? Thank you!
Thanks for checking out my channel..
Brian D Howard Thanks for the response, I’m stuck in the middle of a project because I want to find a nice looking decent switch. I’m following some blogs about super73 dual battery and they will give more information about it. If I find anything useful I’ll let you know. ☮️ 🚲
Brian D Howard here is the link to a switch meant for dual independent battery set up www.electromotivemods.com/shop/wiring-harness-for-scrambler-auxiliary-battery-with-switch-amp-charging-pigtail
Brian thank you so much for this video
You're the man! Eventually when the original battery dies we will need your help figuring the way to replace that battery for another one that fits under the seat.
All the best to you!
Harold did this work? 👀
Could this work for the zx?
How much is the battery and how do I purchase it???
