Welcome to another Episode of Ross Reviews AU on this weeks Video we take a look at this amazing VE Series 2 SSV Z series Holden! Naturally Aspirated V8 L77 paired with a 6 Speed Manual! This NA V8 is no Joke.. Custom Cam, Custom Exhaust.. just see the mods list below, its very well done! Is this the ultimate NA Street Car?? leave a comment down below.

Drivetrain/Engine:
-Aeroflow Universal Breather Tank (Catch can set up) with all braided lines to suit.
-Mantic 9000 Series Clutch Kit
-Black Fuel rails with braided lines.
-316 stainless Faraone engines Custom made twin 3inch exhaust and 4into 1 extractors with varex mufflers to control noise (permit for extractors included)
- Faraone engines Custom ground Cam (Lumpy with a nice unique note)
-GM 3 bolt cam sprocket upgrade
-ARP cam bolts
-gm 4x 3 bolt cam gear
-dual valve springs upgrade
-seats, crome moly retainers and hardened valve locks
-valve stem seals
-Manley chromoly pushrods
-GM water pump and timing cover gaskets
-GM Non DOD valley plate
-Tie bar lifter set
-ARP head bolt set and GM MLS head gaskets.

Yep the ve looks better than the vf for sure,the front end are rear end just look tougher,the series 2 interior is nice too
Thank you for the review of the SSZ, Ross. I agree that I like the VF’s way more but the owner has turned this into a great looking car with plenty of power. It’s also a great sounding car in a manual. Sure looked like a lot of fun to drive and a great car for someone to buy. Great review again.

I’m in love with the VE’s, mines cammed and makes 430hp. They’re tuff cars !

that sounds sick! clean car, agree about the interior. I really dislike series 1 interiors, series 2 is a bit more refined in terms of quality, for some reason series 1 feels older than VY/VZ

Totally agree with the video title - it sounds absolutely epic! Also great aesthetic upgrades - though personally I'd be worried about how sacked out it is on Aussie roads, it sure looks the part!

Hey mate very tuff SSV , love the wheels, looks so tuff with that OEM++ look . Not even including that sound , goddamn!! pulls like a freight train it seems . btw what front lip is that?? looks great and simple really trying to look for it!
Awesome Review Ross, my favorite Holden has always been a ve, the vx is a close second and the third is vz but i have always have dreamed of having a modified ve so awsome video.

Always preferred the VE exterior styling to the VF, more angular and more aggressive. VF interior is a different story of course. That said, don't like the bonnet or eyelids on this one but the drivetrain makes up for it.
yeah the angling, fake vents on the VF is a turn off.

Good choice! They look goof
VE1 interior isn't perfect, but it's a hell of an upgrade from the VZ interior which looks like it's from the 80s now.
It’s a very nice car, sounds absolutely mint for one of those engines. Shame about the 3 shifts to 100, would be at least 1/3 sec quicker without that shift. Wonder how it goes down the quarter. Defs a beast
VF series II SS LS3 is the one you want. I have a tuned black manual and it’s all class.
If you leave the engine stock I agree. Once cammed the 6.0 L77 and LS3 are identical engines apart from the 0.2L, maybe 5kw difference
Awesome stuff Ross, good to see this N/A V8 review but I was sad seeing it being shifted at only 6000rpms haha... Looking forward to seeing if we get to catch up with my little N/A combo seeing how you go shifting it closer to 8000rpms at full noise... :D
Last thing I want is it to go sideways on me… just do what feels right

Faraone cams are the best in w.a no doubt. Have one in my ls1 460rwhp through a 4l65e with untouched heads on 98. Bloke is a seriously good mechanic

@RossReviewsau yeah I can't say that enough I've noticed..the ve looks tougher than a vf,the interior on the vf is better.Obviously u know the vf is a ve with different bolt on's right?

I’m sure the VE GTS review Vs the C63 AMG also had the same bonnet. Awesome review and I agree the VE series 2 was a better looking car and love the n/a.

Looks awesome except the bonnet. 500rwhp might be a happy dyno I'm thinking. Nonetheless it sounds, looks and seems to go pretty well. Manual is an absolute bonus with these

Mine is 500rwhp n/a l77 manual,with good heads and cam and a tuner that knows what he/she is doing it's pretty common.Nothing like a full power engine without forced air induction

what makes the series 1 not as good/ im looking very hardin nz for a manual commodre v8 and its been tough (both variety and price) but for me the series 1 ve's are good value
Yeah but you like the look of the au tells where your taste comes from bro series 1 ve looks better outside factory I reckon some of the inside of series2 is better I'm a fan of minimalistic but more functional

VE ssv's look tough...N/A engine power,love it,the bonnet lets it down,the standard bonnets look real nice on the ve ss,makes it look slick and low,i love the rear wing and skirts,can anyone chime in where they are from please?

Pontiac G8 is pretty similar to this I believe.. basically the same platform

It sounds like a 6.2L SS V8 LS2
The L76 and L77 alare very similar to the Ls2 if you look it up that's probably why
L77 was an adapted version of the LS2
6.2 were ls3. The 6.0 was ls2 L76 and L77 were both 6.0 cathedral ports.
Ls3 has rectangular ports
@JohnWinzil my bad, I had it the wrong way around. Ls1-ls2 had cathedral ports. Ls3-l76-l92 were rectangular and also Flow better. 👍

13 seconds? I ran 12.4 at 115mph on 500tw tires. 2009 g8 gt with 400whp. That car Definitely has a low 12 in it
@@devin7632 if it’s running 6secs 0-100 it can ONLY run a 13-14. It will need to be low 5’s to get into the 13’s, 4secs for 12sec (on street tyres on the street, no burnouts and not relying on unicorn stats of that magical 1/50 launch and perfect traction record that can’t be often repeated. Sure It’s possible to get a 12 - just relies on a bunch of planets to align

Yeah sound bout right got a 408 stroked g8 max fuel pump at 540whp need a dual aux pump and may be a torque storm to break and 8psi of boost 700+whp crank got 620-630hp but yeah anything past 600whpnis hard to hide in california 🥲😢
