Great video Dazs, as always. I crouch spam a lot in fights, it got so bad that I used to do it when nobody was aiming at me lol. It’s ingrained in my muscle memory so it’s kinda hard to break the habit, but I’ve seen that I win a lot more 1v1s when I just strafe left to right
tbh for me the only way to break a habit is to sit in firing range and fix it for a couple of hours. I had the same thing with low wall bounces, I always pressed directional keys too early causing me to strafe away from the wall. After a couple days i had it fixed though.
Thank you.. it helps to refresh old players and novice too. I can see why strafing left and right is more important than one direction duck and jumping
Actually a very helpful and informal video I've recently just reached gold rank after only playing for a year on off here an there in my spare time (AVG 3hrs ) per day one thing that's help me in 1v1 is a diagonal backwards jump slide then bridge around either side and start strafe certain characters seem to have faster reactions than others so taking time to study characters movements and speed etc always helps but yeah enough of me thanks for a great vid have a good year 🙏🏻
Throwing in a jump instead of a crouch sometimes is also really good to throw people off. It's a bit harder, but it's something that a lot of APAC players do, like Ras, but not something you see too much in NA. I started adding it into my strafe about a season ago and it's made me that much harder to track in close 1v1s and bubble fights because people aren't expecting it.
A caveat I've noticed on the other end of this. once you jump you're locked into it with a couple of exceptions. So when I catch someone jumping it usually means a one clip early game. Once you're rocking purple shields there's more room.
Got ripped apart by you in some ranked arenas the other day solo queuing😂 can say your strafe is quite cracked👌🏻😂 love your content brother keep it going!🤘🏻
This was a great video and i appreciate the points you made. However i would add that actually doing a shorter crouch strafe especially in closer engagements is bettee than the crouch movement shows here bt sarah. The movement when crouching is slower and the chance of the enemy accodently hitting a headshot is actually higher because they will be most likely hitting your body before you crouch and then luckily get a headshot as you crouch. So doing a quicker side to side crouch rotation would be harder to track and most likely panic the enemy more
It really is because they are right in your face. When you try and flick and track the strafe it appears faster than what it is. If you keep calm and move less the strafe will become more readable. But in those situations the adrenaline really does kick in. They are no faster than what you are seeing on screen in this guide.
You dont need to crouch that much better use a left right patern and when enemy start tracking you change it....when you crouch you are slower and enemy is hitting headshots on you cause they mostly target your body....
Hi Dazs, I have a question about strafing. Do I have to keep mirroring enemy’s strafe way (A or D) to have better aim ? If so, do I have to anti-mirror strafing when opponents can easy shoot on me and make him miss the shot ?
ok then how do i jumps slide cuz i putbit on hold right and my slide is on right stick i push down and wen i lift my thumb off stick to hit a to jump it just jumps no jump alide
@Dazs i have 2 queries.. first is obviously headshots are important but in close range should i focus more on headshots or body shots in general and second one should i do long or short strafes in close range
in nearly every fps game, jump strafing actually makes you easier to hit compared to AD-AD spamming or crouch strafing. Unless you’re doing some advanced circular jump strafing with tap strafes (something not seen much below masters) you are moving in a predictable arc which is very easy to track for most players (even more for those with aim assist).
Is this still "relevant" as of season 20 - Y2024? I keep getting outplayed by players who strafe with NO INERTIA, the little slow before you strafe the opposite way.
This is a strafe, not a tap stafe. You can still do this, I played the early access. Can still do sharp 90 degree turns with an actual tap strafe also.

Same I even strafe when hitting someone from the back and far away which throws my aim off
God same. My crouch spam muscle memory is literally what ruins majority of my game 😔
Lmao I literally am doing just that

Finally someone who talks about strafing
My new years resolution is to get better at this game this year. These videos are helping a lot.
Strafing is usefull now I know how to strafe thanks to Dazs so good thing that he is a youtuber he is my favorite to

when i found out about the ras movement, i realised ive already been doing it. seems kinda natural to me for a long time to do it

Been searching strafing the past couple of days !
The best strafe is left medium, right short, left medium.

Great guide! how do the sweaty wraiths strafe side to side at turbo speed? they look like they are in fast forward
most of us wraiths do long strafes and some wraiths do short fast strafes

Legit an important vid
Actually what do you think of strafing to help aim? Like moving left to get your crosshair on an enemy?
Hi Dazs, I have a question about strafing.
Do I have to keep mirroring enemy’s strafe way (A or D) to have better aim ?
If so, do I have to anti-mirror strafing when opponents can easy shoot on me and make him miss the shot ?
I was expecting a guide on how to bhop in a circle while killing people like people I 1v1 do to me lmao
Please do a how to guide on initiating a third party!
Season 12 has been real quiet since this released
That is a tap strafe, this is a strafe.
You should check out season 15
Hey what's your crouch?for some reason I can't shoot and crouch sorry I'm new to pc
how do you get the movement velocity stats on your HUD
+cl_showpos 1
Thank you daz, but for people that don’t like using hold to crouch is perfectly fine. I don’t even think about it I just do it naturally
the problem is you have to press it twice
Can you revisit this topic but add in controller aim assist via Sara or yourself. Also Shoutout to Sara for the big helps!
Hey Dazs thanks for getting strafe to the point! *wink wink* get it?
when I strafe my character is slow as a snail
ok then how do i jumps slide cuz i putbit on hold right and my slide is on right stick i push down and wen i lift my thumb off stick to hit a to jump it just jumps no jump alide
just noticed it, how can I make my reticle glow?
What numbers is that reticle
how to change crosshair into blue ? thanks in advance
Does strafing still matter as much when playing on console and taking into account aim assist?
In my experience yes when facing average players. Most good players will decimate you even if you're strafing hard
Crosshair pls
@Dazs i have 2 queries.. first is obviously headshots are important but in close range should i focus more on headshots or body shots in general and second one should i do long or short strafes in close range
Focus on the chest, the headshot is an added bonus
In close fights stage left and right but do not be repetitive or predictable

i love youre voic 😍
I fucking love you mate!! I saw a lot of videos for soft but tNice tutorials one is handsdown the best one! Love how your super calm and really take
Should I strafe/move with the enemy or it's better to strafe randomly?
Depends I imagine, mostly randomly
is the info in the top left something you can just turn on?

How to spam crouch and move easy ?
Prepare for trouble this Glocks my my double
The only reason people strafe no matter what is aim smoothing, it may have been helpful to add that in because its very unintuitive.

so your max velocity is 173 when strafing. so how are you hitting 199 at 2:58 ?
He hasn't got a gun out
I’m having trouble with the concept you’re talking about at 4:00 to 4:12. The pro is that it improves the recoil?
Not that the recoil is improved but that the pattern is different.
how viable is jump strafing instead of crouch strafe?
in nearly every fps game, jump strafing actually makes you easier to hit compared to AD-AD spamming or crouch strafing. Unless you’re doing some advanced circular jump strafing with tap strafes (something not seen much below masters) you are moving in a predictable arc which is very easy to track for most players (even more for those with aim assist).

Omg
Lvswitch
No console version? Swear this is treated like segregation
Cap ur fps to 190
If you need to crouch spam to getyour gun to aim in a smaller recoil patten, exploit and lack of skill. Plain and simple
Talk about crouch and aim exploits. 100% lack of skill
Well seems like this video has gone to waste since the new tap strafe "nerf". now its just a normal battle royale, i might as well play super people.
You can still do hard 90 degree turns and sometimes still pull off a further tap strafe. Just cannot do 180 turns. But the movement is still there.

I mean I can’t do this with a ps5 controller and still aim and shoot this video is useless for me cuz your on pc 🤦🏽♂️
