Not gonna lie I didn't start getting better until I had higher skilled/leveled people drag me up to their tier. Always be open to criticism and ask them questions, take it to heart but don't take it personally.
I have had the opposite effect. Two seasons ago I was starting to get really good playing with pubs. However, I decided to bring in my 10 and 12-year-old sons to play with me. This is their first FPS game. And it's been horrible for me. Trying to teach him to communicate, not be too aggressive at bad times, tunnel vision, putting out their abilities at the wrong time, etc. Etc etc.
@@nataphlegacy8378 while it has the opposite effect on you, dont take your anger to your sons. just make it enjoyable to you and your sons while teaching them what went wrong in their plays.
Important tip that I still haven’t really gotten yet Always heal with your weapon out The amount of times I’ve gotten killed cause I’m straight up punching the air is insane
A comment on armor swapping: When I was new to the game I was hesitant to armor swap because I was like “well, this purple only has 200 to red and that is a purple that has 700 to red” or “I have purple and that’s blue.” So, my instinct is to heal because in the long game I’d have a better armor sooner. But that 200 damage may as well be infinite damage if you die while healing the broken armor. Now, i know I should drop a purple, or even a red, for a white/blue because an empty purple/red is useless. You can always pick it back up later if you REALLY want it but ultimately you’ll get good enough that you’ll level up the armor. Obviously sometimes it is better to heal the armor and you learn when that is by playing. Just something I struggled with.
@@Getmetosubswithnovids-dh9qsjust think of how much shield the armor has left vs what tier it is. If the fights over and you have the meds heal it, but if you need a shield a full white is better than a broken red.
well its like you said. If i'm in late game and have a purple close to red but swap to a 700 purple. Once things calm down and I am certain there won't be a 3rd party I just pick my old shield back up and heal, but in a fight always shield swap
I LOVE THESE! I started playing around January and honestly it took me like 2 months just to understand simple stuff like how shields are the priority when it comes to healing, and I'd love to see all those tips that I only got to know because a random yelled at me to swap or heal shields first. I feel like there aren't many new players who actually go through the first 100 levels of the game because honestly it SUCKS so much just solo q'ing just to die landing 500 times on a loop, and most of the people I showed the game gave up after the first 10 levels, and never play unless I invite them. Honestly the only reason I personally went through those first 100 levels was because i wanted to get better so I could play with my "friends" who are level 700+ and don't invite me because I pretty much still suck at the game hahahah anyway, thank you, as an apex newbie, i really appreciate these :D
Also a good tip from me (mid tear diamond) is stop looting mid fight as much as possible. I catch too many people getting greedy for that blue, purple, gold mag and 10 batts when u already had 2-3 and a naked magged weapon. You do not need it for a fight that still happening. Understand that no one wants you to get the thing you want/need. The better you are with less, makes you twice as good with more. Save the loot for that down time. It may or may not happen, but your positioning and knowledge of the fight(s) is 1000 times more important
Another important tip is cooperation with weapons. When u open your inventory, on the bottom left u can see your teammates items and ammo usage. This can be used by pinging the hop ups or ammos that your teammate needs
@@JTSonorous or you can simply see whether they need the hop up or not by hovering your mouse at the button and there will be a person raising their hand if they need it
One tip I have to add is to really think about shield levels before starting a big fight. If you're on a low tier shield going against enemies with high tier shields, you have to be more strategic to get them low before pushing into close range. More than likely they'll win a 50/50 aim duel if they have more shields than you.
Small addition I'd make to #13, I'm no pro but this is just from experience: If you're running one short and one long range weapon like a sniper and an smg, you might think it obvious to have more ammo for your close range weapon than your long ranged weapon since you'll probably be using it much more frequently, however what you don't realise is that if you're in a close range battle, when you kill the enemy, their deathbox is then right next to you and you can grab all their ammo right away, but when you're in a long range poking contest, you're gonna get stuck using loads of ammo and not being able to pick it up straight away if you knock/kill them. Ig this could also be applicable when not using long range weapons, if you're using a shotty and an smg for example, enemies you kill are most likely going to have loads of ammo you can slurp up straight off the bat, so leave more space in your inventory for ordinance and heals.
To add to this, its important to understand the ammo usage of each weapon. For example; When Im running a Sentinel I can often get away with running a single stack of ammo, whereas if Im running a Longbow I need 2 stacks of ammo. The bolt-action vs. Semi-auto makes a huge difference and the Longbow takes more actual rounds to crack or knock someone in general. Same logic applies to shotguns and Marksman rifles as well.
Ping every armor from blue upwards even if youre all on purple/red. Good players will make a mental note and it might save your team. Our squad does this every time and it has won us games plenty of times.
Yo a lot of this felt like I knew which means PROGRESS!!! Now I just need to work on my aim and positioning a bit more. I just dropped 10 kills 7 assists and 2500 damage so I’m getting there. Thanks man! Always a help!
Thanks guys! My laptop is almost about to die but I just ordered my new gaming PC from Xidax and I’ll finally have a decent set up! Appreciate the encouragement!
One thing i see alot when people play bangalore is they like to use their smoke on themselfs of their teamates. What i rarely see is them using it on the enemy. I find it super useful when a team is holding high ground and theres very little cover to use, its also useful for breaking up the team your fighting if they are bunched up
You should mention the melee fight. In my personal experience if you are in a CQC and you run out of ammo in your magazines without the possibility to run off and reload then use your fists instead of reloading. You will have a higher chance to win the fight.
Note on the hip fire tip: hip fire spread with smg’s is around 2~, LMG’s around 2.5-4, but ARs are 6+. The hip fire nerf heavily targeted ARs so take that into consideration when choosing a weapon.
I’d say anyone hot dropping is going to improve in the slowest way, drop out side of hot drop get ANY gun and then push in doesn’t matter if your litres you should learn to fight with what you have but doing that in a hot drop usually means you die before you can actually practice.
I started a week before the Horizon season ended. I had a “click” with Apex when I hit around level 110-120 which took me somewhere between one season to one season and a half. The click being my brain having this moment where all the things I was slowly learning came together to create this jump in skill because the way the game flows finally made sense. Making this comment for making the case of a higher level for Ranked. I did not suddenly become a Masters player, but good enough to enjoy the intricacies of the game.
I just started playing and I’m level 23. My little brother is level 300 and I have been playing a lot of duos with him; as a result I have been put in lobbies with prestige’s and people obviously much better than me. I am naturally pretty good at the game and can get multiple kills in his lobbies by myself. I have been applying almost everything you said except two things; hip firing and finishing people while their teammates are still alive. I think I would probably improve much much more if I applied these so thank you.
1:40 camping and duos is like coffee and cream based on my friend’s and my experience this last couple of days smh. we get caught in a choke point between two people hiding in command center the entire match, and two people holding the high ground/underpass before thunder watch 😐
You’re speaking facts about people being able to jump straight into ranked. Upping the level cap to 100 or smth would mostly stop smurfing, maybe help with cheating, also benefit new players. Also I still fuck up when armor swapping either by grabbing a banner or panicking
If you go into the firing range inside of a death box, if you want armor swap practice open the box and grab the r301, it’s about the same spot where armor is.
1st thing i wish i knew before playing apex in 9 seasons you will never hear someone walking 5 ft next to you but will see all the recolors and prestige skins you want
Nice video. i would like add another tip, reloading is kinda crazy in apex, 12:23 shows this moment pretty good, realistically you would'not get your weapon reloaded when you use zip line and then climb but in Apex it works, hard to remember for me tho.
I have a problem with finding a reason to play pubs. I know I need to practice and get better because I’m not good but after playing ranked (coming from cod, the RP system is a piece of art to me) I just don’t feel enjoyment after a win in pubs as opposed to ranked. I realize it’s a weak mentality, I just can’t deal w seeing solo queue masters and 250,000+ kill octanes take me out off drop or my entire team at final circles. Idk man you’re videos are helpful, thank you!
It's difficult for me being someone that has RL firearms training and understands the benefits of cover and concealment trying to convey to my teammates that they can't just stand in the open and trade shots with higher skilled players. Time and time again I can shit on squads while my teammates just watch me work. "How did you do that?" I used every element available to me to secure the win. No bullshit Mango your videos opened my eyes to how I wasn't playing to my full potential.
8:15 wrong it has nothing to do with your movement, it has to do with your aim when you're strafing, you're naturally counteraiming on the strafe or all your bullets will miss. that micro adjustment of the counter aim is what gives it the recoil smoothing, not the movement apex never intended for it but on these engines it just works that when you move the camera in a consistent manner, other "forces" applied on the camera will be eaten up
Ive been playing for years, got some decent accolades but I only solo que. It dont matter how good you might be, when you dont have good teamwork, dont push fights together, or stay together, youre going to lose. I hate playing with revenants and octanes because they notoriously run off and start a fight 100m away, then they die then spam their loot box.
yea my brother got me into apex and he had a lot more experience than i did as he was lvl 250 when i started so it was a lot harder to deal with but it made me grow WAY faster than i wouldve solo que
Using a mic and finding a squad you vibe with is most important. I’ve had people argue why mics aren’t necessary??? My team personally don’t have the best KD but we synergize hard and push everyone.
#6. Good Positioning - this is what irks me about solo queuing 95% of the time. My teammates frequently approach fights from absolutely attrocious angles. Stop attacking fortified positions from the low ground people!
Just as bad as defending a shitty position instead of breaking off from a mid-long range fight. For some reason alot of people would rather die playing king of the hill over just running away. I get that it might feel cowardly to give up ground but it's better than losing a fight you could have won later on, had you and your team repositioned.
To add to tip #14, I've been playing since day one and I still don't have a main... I test my abilities on each legend and am proud to say I have a 2.5 k dmg badge (min) on everyone currently in the game (catalyst is most recent) I recommend just going for dmg. Dmg leads to kills
I feel like when I got put with someone who was good but hadn't played in a while and we made friends it absolutely increased my skill because it forced better opponents, making me adapt faster
I used to be good, but since season 8 a lot changed and I became terrible, your sens is the exact one I used to have and your vids actually help. And about the maining part, I a mirage main but I dont use him only, I try to main one of each role. Not a good way prolly, but it could be nice to do
I've never been good at armor swapping no matter how hard I try. When I get shot at, I sometimes get booted from the box menu, sometimes don't and I'm in the habit of hitting ESC to get out, but if it boots me I open the game menu. Not a good thing to happen lol. I personally don't carry Med kits. My heals boils down to a PK, Batt stack, Cell stack, and Syr stack by default, but two stacks of cells and two stacks of syringes if I have a gold shield. I use Val mostly though, so her mobility nets me more chances to use heals the way I want.
the gold backpack feels like its always worth to hold 2 phoenix kits since it allows it to be in one slot and give to a team mate who might got down and needs to heal full or what ever the situation might be. since the 6 batteries holding 3 slots are now holding 2 slots, the extra 1 slot could be used to hold the 2 phoenix kits instead. just a thought/theory. very interesting to hear these notes/perspective that i take for granted, not playing any of the other main stream FPS that people learned from and thus have a harder time when moving in to play apex.
Its crazy to me how this game is so balanced. Everything all the way down to team work is balanced. They are trying to make the win something you need a key for rather than just pure luck or brute force. If you put together the perfect combination of teamwork and individual awareness it builds the key you need to open the lock, you cant just solo cue and expect to do something thatll overpower any situation, the possability just doesnt exist unless the team they face just doesnt have the combined skill of the solo person. One of the main reasons why i prefer this game over the other battle royals. I feel like apex was the game that made the standard for how to build a proper battle royal game. They have the perfect formula
7.) gets most average players killed. I rarely see my random teammates armor swapping especially after getting picked up from getting knocked and death boxes around. I still have issues picking the armor fast enough from a death box
Legends have always been divided in 4 categories no? Or at least for as long as I remember. When I first started playing apex when it just came out I remember Lifeline being a healer class because that’s why I picked her
The part on what Legends do: do you know how to read or I am the obly one who takes about a half an hour to an hour to read the abilities of all characters in a game? (From Apex to Dota)
I noticed that when i solo queue in ranked then my teamates slow me down and make me do stupid things but when i go into pusbs with no fill then i can easily 1v3 and not make so many mistakes
Ngl I basically knew most of this but I still suck ass.. I get 3 kills or less per game, sure my damage has started to go up but it’s still pales in comparison to my friends. I’m learning movement now but my aim isn’t getting any better. There is a chance that my aim’s being effected by my dying gpu but I don’t really wanna blame it on that.
You seriously talked about so many things that I thought about, wondered if anyone else has thought of and so much more. Great video man, keep up the great work
when armor swapping - when is armor in death box still full and when is it empty? I recently started playing apex coming from cs:go, so I don't know a whole lot.
You can’t know if it’s empty until you’re already in the box but the UI will indicate it when you’re in. If it’s empty or less than the armor your have on it won’t let you swap it
I had this maining legend problem for some time but now that I am playing it for 2/3 years I understand that maining isn't for 1 legend and you can main multiple legends and this is good bcz in some matches there will be a random who will choose you're only main so it's better to master multiple legends For example for me it's octane, ballistic, crypto,Ash,bangalor and sometimes lifeline
im trying to get my first 20 bomb and at least a 3k im getting closer and closer to this dream just need better positioning and a better mindset to transition on during heavy situations
I’m todays ranked, camping is extremely exploitable and the easiest way to rank up. Last season I tested this for my self, and I got to Gold 1 or 2 I think with a whopping 5 kills under my belt. Watson, Catalyst and a scan legend/support legend (often Bloodhound or Loba) and then we waited.
I just can’t figure out the aiming in this game man, I have no problem in cod or other fps games but for some reason apex is always the hardest for me to get the aiming down and it’s pissing me off.
There was one time I found 3 death boxes in a building and as soon as I started to loot the boxes the team im assuming that killed those players were all waiting for me and I was down before I could think to run. I was playing Ash 😬
I wish people that I end up in games with would watch this. The randoms I join that hot drop and dont understand the basics of it annoy the piss out of me.
While im not that good in apex I find pubs to easy, like their are decent fights in pubs but in ranked that where I find the games to be challenging in a good way, you have to be more precise in ranked, whereas pubs I can do whatever I want, I’m still in silver as I just got back into apex after a 2 year hiatus, but I’m trying to get back into diamond
I wish when I started playing apex somone told me about taking cover because I was transitioning form Fortnite to apex and it was a big 1 having to actrully work with a team and understand abilities and there match ups and now I'm able to get 2k badges with about any character with a good team and the right weapons and positioning
droping where 6 other teams are have i been thrue 1000 of times when the jumpmaster hot drop and then just rush solo on 3 enemys and dies in 10 seconds then the other player do the same and im left solo. And then they crawl around and spam ping the rest of the game. so i just leave the game when they do that because i know how its end
Bc my best friend always used the flatline (and didn't have the best aim) he told me that carrying heavy rounds in my bagpack would slow me so he could find more heavy ammo than me...... I believed him till season 13😂😅😂
i hate these random teammates who go and pick a fight without being fully sure that they can win, and they do this by themselves expecting me to rush out to them and help as fast as i can. and they dont even communicate at all. should i just do what i want at this point? i think so. i hate when teammates go and pick fights they cant win, like just stop
I opt to carry & use several grenades, as opposed to going so hard-core w/ heals. I guess I play it much safer than others so that I don't 4 batts & 8 cells all at once. I also armor swap now (didn't realize it was thing until recently). I think using grenades is an underutilized strategy.

No bullshit Mango your videos opened my eyes to how I wasn't playing to my full potential.
8:15 wrong
it has nothing to do with your movement, it has to do with your aim
when you're strafing, you're naturally counteraiming on the strafe or all your bullets will miss. that micro adjustment of the counter aim is what gives it the recoil smoothing, not the movement
apex never intended for it but on these engines it just works that when you move the camera in a consistent manner, other "forces" applied on the camera will be eaten up
Ive been playing for years, got some decent accolades but I only solo que.
As a solo and just got to ranked I was thinking the opposite hoping to get teamed with players that actually tried and that could help me
Im pretty new to apex and to spray patterns. What would you recommend for learning how to remember spray patterns?
Using a mic and finding a squad you vibe with is most important. I’ve had people argue why mics aren’t necessary??? My team personally don’t have the best KD but we synergize hard and push everyone.
Communication is everything 👍
me watching this video like i havent been playing since the second day the game came out lmao
Same but only way to get better especially after long break
For controller players, I highly recommend changing your button layout early for movement if you dont/can’t use claw.
lol #1 is so facts. i started apex in s2 and started ranked in s12 because i thought i had to be “pro” for ranked. now i’m just in master’s hell
#6. Good Positioning - this is what irks me about solo queuing 95% of the time. My teammates frequently approach fights from absolutely attrocious angles. Stop attacking fortified positions from the low ground people!
I've had teammates rush a Shelia head on. It's kinda sad
6:15 thats the exact thing my random queues do to me.
My tip for players is that if you only have 1 bat but you have 8 cells and there’s no one nearby, cell up and save the bat for a heal in action.
The hip fire thing took me a long time to really integrate into my muscle memory, coming from other shooters.
3:20 #5 play legends
07:28 #9 recoil patt
09:42 #10 run with gun
7.) gets most average players killed. I rarely see my random teammates armor swapping especially after getting picked up from getting knocked and death boxes around. I still have issues picking the armor fast enough from a death box
Legends have always been divided in 4 categories no? Or at least for as long as I remember. When I first started playing apex when it just came out I remember Lifeline being a healer class because that’s why I picked her
One good inclusion for hip fire that most people probably don't know. If you're crouched, your hip fire spread is cut down a lot
Thanks Mangos :)
Hope everyone is having a lovely day
The part on what Legends do: do you know how to read or I am the obly one who takes about a half an hour to an hour to read the abilities of all characters in a game? (From Apex to Dota)
i mean, there's an actual armor swap trainer on steam now, but it released just a couple hours before this video.
How do i find it?
thank you for doing this i use to play apex and just started to get back in to it
I noticed that when i solo queue in ranked then my teamates slow me down and make me do stupid things but when i go into pusbs with no fill then i can easily 1v3 and not make so many mistakes
Yup that’s what I would do. I would only carry 4 cells when I first started, it held me back and always ran outa heals. Now I carry at least 8
You seriously talked about so many things that I thought about, wondered if anyone else has thought of and so much more. Great video man, keep up the great work
0:25 generally what's missing in a controller
when armor swapping - when is armor in death box still full and when is it empty? I recently started playing apex coming from cs:go, so I don't know a whole lot.
You can’t know if it’s empty until you’re already in the box but the UI will indicate it when you’re in. If it’s empty or less than the armor your have on it won’t let you swap it
Are we not going to talk about that Mozambrrr? Just gonna go right past that like we know what the fuck that thing was? 🤣 sounds good.
I had this maining legend problem for some time but now that I am playing it for 2/3 years I understand that maining isn't for 1 legend and you can main multiple legends and this is good bcz in some matches there will be a random who will choose you're only main so it's better to master multiple legends
For example for me it's octane, ballistic, crypto,Ash,bangalor and sometimes lifeline
Mid fight heals: Prioritize shields over health. Shield heals have lower times than health heals.
Love your content bro !!! Def has made me better and made the game more fun for me
What is your Reticle color settings at ? Digging that pink
Thanks! I think it’s just the base pink one
im trying to get my first 20 bomb and at least a 3k im getting closer and closer to this dream just need better positioning and a better mindset to transition on during heavy situations
Your main in any game with multiple character choices should be the one you have the most fun playing with.
Switching to controller is the biggest tip every new player needs to know
I just can’t figure out the aiming in this game man, I have no problem in cod or other fps games but for some reason apex is always the hardest for me to get the aiming down and it’s pissing me off.
for console players::: try armor swapping while sliding, the only way to somewhat bridge the gap between pc having no restrictions while looting
There was one time I found 3 death boxes in a building and as soon as I started to loot the boxes the team im assuming that killed those players were all waiting for me and I was down before I could think to run. I was playing Ash 😬
Little thing i noticed. The picture you put about the recoil pattern of guns. Te names are okay, but the patterns are upside-down
Thanks mangoes your videos help me so much
I wish people that I end up in games with would watch this. The randoms I join that hot drop and dont understand the basics of it annoy the piss out of me.
Funny I use the same backpack management
When i hit masters a few seasons ago im like sweet finially improving. This season is a joke because you can rat your way strait to the top.
Been trying to push to masters but my brother and a friend can't seem to aim go pass plat, so I solo push to diamond alone and stay there
While im not that good in apex I find pubs to easy, like their are decent fights in pubs but in ranked that where I find the games to be challenging in a good way, you have to be more precise in ranked, whereas pubs I can do whatever I want, I’m still in silver as I just got back into apex after a 2 year hiatus, but I’m trying to get back into diamond
I wish when I started playing apex somone told me about taking cover because I was transitioning form Fortnite to apex and it was a big 1 having to actrully work with a team and understand abilities and there match ups and now I'm able to get 2k badges with about any character with a good team and the right weapons and positioning
Hold tf up was that a fully auto Mozambique?? @5:10
droping where 6 other teams are have i been thrue 1000 of times when the jumpmaster hot drop and then just rush solo on 3 enemys and dies in 10 seconds then the other player do the same and im left solo. And then they crawl around and spam ping the rest of the game. so i just leave the game when they do that because i know how its end
Lol, also worth mentioning that Apex legends was the first game that brought ping system to battle royale games
what is thst green flatline skin
with the different iron sights
Thank you for being awesome mango!
Bc my best friend always used the flatline (and didn't have the best aim) he told me that carrying heavy rounds in my bagpack would slow me so he could find more heavy ammo than me......
I believed him till season 13😂😅😂
I noticed that it is really long time to kill in Apex. But if we talking about how other players kill me it's shorter than blink of my eyes 😂
i hate these random teammates who go and pick a fight without being fully sure that they can win, and they do this by themselves expecting me to rush out to them and help as fast as i can. and they dont even communicate at all. should i just do what i want at this point? i think so. i hate when teammates go and pick fights they cant win, like just stop
I opt to carry & use several grenades, as opposed to going so hard-core w/ heals. I guess I play it much safer than others so that I don't 4 batts & 8 cells all at once. I also armor swap now (didn't realize it was thing until recently). I think using grenades is an underutilized strategy.
Okay bronze 2
great tips, ty
the one im starting with is bloodhound is it good ?
i dump white meds for space (depending on if we have zone), so does hal LoL
Been watching my brother play for 4-5 years just started playing a month ago n im onpy running caustic
Hey, what software do you use to edit and create your videos?
Well said when i started i knew a bit but not much too and now im a pred and i tell the same thing to players
