I just started playing a bit of Sentinel and the the charge up seems to let you be even faster with B-hopping but im not 100% sure on that, just a feeling. What it does for sure is that it gives you somehow a lot of velocity out of a standstill if you start to B-hop
@@Milessss If you know how to b-hop, and you know how to tap strafe, it’s really very simple. At any point after a jump in your b-hop chain, turn that jump into a tapstrafe. I find this tech very easy, but it might be due to my unusual mouse grip - I use my middle finger on scroll at all times, with Ring finger on RightClick and Pointer on Left. 3 fingers on the mouse at all times, very versatile.
You def touched on it a bit but just for a little bit of clarity for roller users...firstly, it's 100x easier to bhop with your crouch set to hold as well as having paddles/playing claw/mapping your jump to a bumper. When bhopping on controller it's super important to use your left stick to alter your momentum by pushing it fully to whichever side you're trying to or about to turn towards. Your right stick is used more as a guide to orient yourself in whichever direction you're trying to turn while the left stick changes your momentum. Somewhat similar to how A and D works on mnk. If you don't use the left stick to alter your momentum, and only try and do it with your right stick, you won't get those arcing half circles that allow for you to keep the most momentum. I learned how to bhop way back when before they nerfed the healing and it took me a little while to realize that the left stick is a really important aspect of doing it effectively. Hopefully my explanation isn't too convoluted and fantastic vide as always brotha ❤
About the backward bhop, people might think its faster because backward bhop in old source games is faster and is a speedrun tech on old version of half life 2 before it get patched iirc
It’s been some time since I watched your video and that because I was taking a break from the game for health reasons but I started playing again and ohh boy did I just enjoy going to class and learning about these finding thank you mokey and apex community
Just messed around with it for like 10 - 15 minutes, I don't think it's worth it for anything less than a phoenix. Medkit and shield batt are short enough to maintain about the same speed if you are good with regular Bhopping(maybe a 10 - 15 mov speed difference if you are a bit sloppy), phoenix kit though, it's hard to Bhop well enough to maintain that momentum for that long, so if you have a wall handy, why not. Also for people who Bhop well, 8 degrees is about what you'd alternate between left and right to go straight while bhopping, so the looking out method might come a bit more naturally. IF you could strafe OUT of the wall, and back in for a bit more speed then it might be worth it, but from what I can tell either the inputs are too tight, I'm not a good enough Bhopper, or it's just not possible.
i love mokey so much always stepping up the movement game for the community just wish there was a controller version of him bc no one p[uts the time in that he does on controller
9:20 not sure how this game compares to Titanfall, but it was discovered you can eliminate lurch by holding both left and right to get a neutral input then releasing one key to move in the opposite direction. I wonder if this would reduce lurch even further than switching directional key right before landing?
the time to lurch is only 0.4-0.5 seconds after jumping as far as i know. when you land that timer should already have hit 0. lurchless strafing is possible in apex but the value you get out of it is barely even noticable so it's not worth learning imo
@@janmagtoast it has a lot of value because its easier to lurchless slide hop than do whatever was said in the video, i thought no one times their direction change and just uses lurchless because it's easier

I still recall taxi doing a lil movement guide on stream which included the wall hopping technique for healing but it was more than a year ago... Bet very little people knew about this
doing the math... 8 degrees, 35 degrees, (most likely 37), totalling 45. plus because you're entering another movement input, your total vector towards the wall when looking to the wall and pressing W is the same vector as looking away and not pressing W. Therefore, i bet you could do this looking at the wall at a certain angle and only pressing W and hopping. (granted W and hop doesnt have some built in speed reducer.) or any 45 degree equivalent angle with the respective movement keys pressed keeping your vector in relation to the wall the same.
