Just a note about wallbouncing off of small objects: if you input a sideways movement you don't actually 'skip' the climbing animation, you just do it sideways. Try to jump onto a wall and instead of 'w', hold 'a' or 'd' and you will climb sideways, that's how these wallbounces work, you might've seen those vids of Revenant climbing sideways around corners, same idea. And a tip to do it more consistently, at 12:03 when you hit the wall you want to be holding the key for the direction you want to go into, i.e. if you airstrafe or tapstrafe towards the wall with 'a', the moment you hit the wall you want to be holding 'd' while inputting jump so you get the sideways climb animation that will launch you further.
Can that applied too if i do tapstrafe towards the left wall with ‘a’ and also holding ‘a’ the moment i press jump will launch me to the upper wall that i bounce as well?. So it’s like climbing but with jump instead, or vertical strafe
when you said real world case i just imagine some dude doing parkour running from the police and then he just hits a tap strafe wall bounce to go over the ledge
I was gonna say you weren’t going into depth on the keys until you got to the “short object wall bounce”. Listen to this man he knows exactly how to explain this wizardry 🙏🏼🙌🏼😩
Small thing I wanna point out for anyone just starting to get into the feel of wall bouncing and you feel like it’s super inconsistent you can try to be perpendicular to the wall when you are about to jump off of it. Essentially you have to be flat against the wall to get really consistent wall jumps. After a while of this you’ll see you start doing it as a subconscious thing so yeah just give it some time and you’ll be bouncing off walls like a madman
How do I implement movement more in game? I can tap strafe pretty well and I am getting decent with superglides, but I’m not good at wall bouncing or actually using movement in the middle of a fight.
Thanks as ever for your time and effort, I can finally do this (most of the time). The hard part will be when I'm running scared in a ranked game being chased by a psycho Octane.
Might best advice, mice have two thumb buttons. If you are a gamer, you've most of your life used a gamepad in platformers to run and jump. So take my advice: *Make Mouse button 4/5 Crouch (Hold), and Jump as alternate inputs.* This allows you to slide, and jump *with your thumb.* Front Thumb to Slide (like SNES-Y/PS-Square/XB-(x) - Running in Mario, Slashing in Hollow Knight) Rear Thumb to Jump (SNES-B/PS-Cross/XB-(a) - Jumping in Mario and Hollow Knight) --- _Use your muscle memory to your advantage._
Thanks for the detailed guide, I've watched many wall bouncing guides but this one is definitely the most complete one. I have to say though, that it triggered me a bit that you kept saying "holding a" when you were holding d, LOL
I never understood how to wall bounce (off of any object), and I knew it was bc of the climbing animation but didnt know how to cancel it, thanks for the tutorial, really helped
What is really the difference between using direction keys as A or D if you can only use "W on scroll" and do the movement with your mouse?Slide -> jump -> scrollwheel tap strafe to wall -> wallbounce? I get the usage while you go for "small objects" where you cant do it properly without tricking the game to think you dont want to climb it... but normal one?
How do you wall bounce over a wall without an angle though? Like head-on into a wall. Stormen said he uses a momentum redirect instead of tap strafe but I couldn't figure it out.
when i hold a or d while trying to wall bounce, on a wall of any height, my character simply slides off the wall without any possibility of jumping off. does anyone know why this might be?
On PC doing it yeah, so you can adjust the binds. Its very hard to do it on console. The advanced wall bouncing can be done on console though because its not a tap strafe.
only reason why you cant hit ppl when they wall bounce or ''tap strafe'' is cause ''bullet drop'' in this game isn't realistic at all....if my optic is on you or passes over you while im shooting..it should hit no matter WHAT, bullets go fast, not in apex though! most ppl try and wall bounce and they complete it fully yet i still beam them... i think respawn needs to just make the game good??
I remember watching this a long time ago, and i remember this dude said A instead of D 900 times, and I was like, wtf am I doing wrong.. good video other than that man.
Its not easy to understand the movement of Apex initially, its all based on momentum and it clicks at different times for different people. Its because we are learning a virtual world with its own rule set. Those rules don't always make sense on "Why". Apex "Why" is just "That is just how the engine works".
Hey consolees, apparently we can’t do the wall jump over the wall because we can’t tap strafe. Just thought I’d lyk so you don’t waste a buuunch of time trying to do something you’re unable to, like I did.
They need to completely redo the movement in this game. It's so un-intuitive. It's padded difficulty for no reason. They shouldve literally just had double space to bounce off a wall and remove tap strafing.

because he doesn't do guides to say he is better.. and only add the best content... he is real af...
when you said real world case i just imagine some dude doing parkour running from the police and then he just hits a tap strafe wall bounce to go over the ledge
LMAOOO
When I started this video I couldn't wall bounce at all. By the time it ended I was able to do the basic one consistently, thanks so much for this!!
This is the first video that finally got me to consistently and effectively
wall bounce (third time coming back to the drawing board).
Quality and informative video as always man! Thanks again for all the amazing coaching! It helped a ton getting me in the right direction! :D

thank you kind stranger
my brother in christ thank you
The holding direction into the wall bounce is great info, thank you. i've been wondering how people wall bounce off low objects so easily.
I just actually learned how to wall bounce, but now im curious how they go horizontally when they do it and you answer it thank you so much
Is there amn alternative to a scroll wheel for controller for beter timing?
Your guides are the best!
Yoh Dazs you actually made me a beast!! Keep up the work and mass produce predators lolol!!
Honestly thank you so much, I never walk bounced and when I did I used space and never thought to use scroll wheel thank you so much for this guide.
One Word. Underrated!
How do I implement movement more in game? I can tap strafe pretty well and I am getting decent with superglides, but I’m not good at wall bouncing or actually using movement in the middle of a fight.

in 2:31 how are his wallbounces so high whereas mine only go back and not up as much?
Thanks for the detailed guide, I've watched many wall bouncing guides but this one is definitely the most complete one. I have to say though, that it triggered me a bit that you kept saying "holding a" when you were holding d, LOL
What do you bind cycle weapon to?
Such a good movement guide. Whats the command you use to boost your FPS. Everything I've tried doesn't work.
Think you can do a video on the ras air strafe?
“We’re adding building blocks onto this.” well said
for some reason i really struggle with tap strafing, it's nothing like strafing ive done in other source games
I never understood how to wall bounce (off of any object), and I knew it was bc of the climbing animation but didnt know how to cancel it, thanks for the tutorial, really helped
thank you helps a lot
can you do this stuff on console? just asking if its possible
Huge guide this is great stuff!

Can you do the advanced wall bounce n controller
I dont use the skill at 7:41 i use a horizontal then strafe
when i hold a or d while trying to wall bounce, on a wall of any height, my character simply slides off the wall without any possibility of jumping off. does anyone know why this might be?
If I’m looking to improve do I play ranked or pubs ?
Both
Yes it really help thx ima sub
i switched to fingertip recently but i feel the mouse wabbles any tips to help fix it
I use my whole pinky finger to brace on one end, so I have stability but can quickly go Pure Fingers when needed
OK the normal wall jump I got and turn out to be easy enough but the others are harder, but will keep practicing until I get it.
I can do a perpendicular wall bounce but the left and right wall bounce is difficult
amazing
good vid
Thank you, happy new year! :D
@@Dazs sorry for not responding happy new year
grat to b bak
:)
Does tap strafe work on controller?

@@Dazs practicing the adv wall bouncing now. It’s difficult to get turned back to go mover the wall. Thanks for the video, I’ll keep practicing.

Happy New Year! :)
Great guide man. Thanks.

Litterally my first try I managed to do it, didn’t realise you had to NOT hold W lmfao
I know how to but I just feel like watching
Advanced guide on strafing and crouch spamming?
wall bouncing is alot of fun lol
great guide besides when you said " i'll show you how to fix the problem if you're climbing on the wall " and then proceed to not mention it lol
i play as sombra too
I don't know if it's just me but I'm always so confused during these tutorials

This is SOOOO damn hard to do with a controller :(
first!!!!
First in the new year? :D
i still cant do this 100% all the time =( always missed the timing
Well then, time to hit the training grounds.
Me that can wall bounce without sliding 👁👄👁
Hey consolees, apparently we can’t do the wall jump over the wall because we can’t tap strafe. Just thought I’d lyk so you don’t waste a buuunch of time trying to do something you’re unable to, like I did.
11:32 akward
Still great video tho lol
Haha just realized forgot to cut that. Oh well, nice real moment
@@Dazs I thought you were joking lol. Them I realized u forgot
i swear this shit doesn't work anymore since they nerfed tap straping
They need to completely redo the movement in this game. It's so un-intuitive. It's padded difficulty for no reason. They shouldve literally just had double space to bounce off a wall and remove tap strafing.
No, it is easy on ps4
I'm too beta
PC players have it so easy.. like ffs. Love Apex, hate the imbalance.
Shooters are made for pc more then they are for console. that's just the way it is
useless for console players.
amazing video ty. this has helped my entire friend group
From one Loba main to another, Happy New Year Dazs :3 ♥
