Thanks for mentioning suicide, we had a co worker nurse kill herself it’s been a few years now, but it still haunts me because she was beautiful and just turned 40. I didn’t understand because it seemed like she had everything going for her, I guess we don’t really know. We need to be nice to each other, women can be toxic to each other.

As a women who has suffered with estrogen dominance for a long time , i recently started using progesterone cream and wow im shocked at what a difference it has made . I used to constantly be hungry craving carbs not being able to go for long time without eating now i have no appetite for those foods and am satisfied where i can fast long is not always insulin resistance is hormones because im seeing a difference in my wright and am losing alot of water weight from too much estrogen i had , if this helps anyone give it a try because i was also fasting 36 hrs or 24hrs even Omad and it was frustrating but this is a game changer

I’m 22 and lost my period a year ago when I stopped birth control. how do I fast if I can’t track my cycle but want to balance my hormones and heal my body to get my period back?
Thank You Dr. Pelz for this knowledge. I am beyond happy to learn about my body and understand the different stages through out the month. I was raised and taught to go go go no matter what, literally on auto -pilot not allowing myself and body to heal the right way. I am taking my power back, I am taking my healing back, and am preparing g for when I become peri-menopausal. 45? As of yesterday and I am on a mission to help myself feel and look better as well as help my daughters with this knowledge. 😊

Hi Dr. Mindy! I ended my first 3 day fast yesterday. Is it normal to be weepy afterwards ie commercials and others’ generosity? It’s been 5 years after a hysterectomy with no menopausal symptoms (peri symptoms before the operation though). I feel fine otherwise. Thank you! P.S. Love your enthusiasm!

My Evening Primrose oil and my calcium/magnesium says to take with food and without other meds/supplements. Is this true? I’d like to take them in my fasting window.
Always take your medications as prescribed, and check with your pharmacist. Some people can take their Rx medications with a bit of fat, or some wilted greens and fat. You will still get great fasting benefits! Please be aware that you may be more sensitive to some medications in a fasting window.
Hi I really like learning from you! A question about being in sugar burning mode and manipulating food: how are people losing weight (burning fat) if they are staying in the sugar burning mode and just reducing calories and not fasting? Can you still burn fat in glucose burning mode? Just wondering! 🙏🏻
The key is to metabolically switch between the two. The fat burner system is where the magic happens and then you switch out of it back to sugar burner, etc. 🙌

Thank you very much for the chart info. Btw, I'm 54 years old and I still have a consistent 28-day cycle. I have no perimenopausal systems. Is this normal? Is it a sign of good hormonal health? Fasting and eating according to your book is keeping me regular. I get so excited when I see my period on day 28. I used to dread it. Now I welcome it! ❤️🙏❤️
It's amazing how our outlook on having a cycle has changed, I agree! Yes, normal. The typical age is about 52-55 years old. 💙
I have been doing the 16/8 fast everyday for 3 years now (except in my luteal phase)and I love it. However, I have hit a wall,and am gaining belly fat. (47 years old,and do resistance training at least 4 x a week ) I would like to try the 24,but I haven't been able to go beyond 18 hours..what can I do to extend my fasting window?

Can I break my IF with dates?
Yes, you can break your intermittent fast with dates. They provide a quick source of natural sugars and essential nutrients, making them a good option to ease back into eating.
Insulin doesn't differentiate between man-made carbs and natural carbs. Both causes insulin to go up and can lead to insulin resistance.

Perimenopause but on birth control? Is that cycling or not cycling or something else?🤷♀️
Since you're on birth control and don't ovulate, traditional cycle syncing might not fully apply. Still, you might experience hormonal fluctuations that affect fasting. Your readiness to fast on days 24-27 and difficulty during your 'power days' suggest your body has its unique rhythm. Consider tailoring your fasting schedule to these cues instead of a fixed cycle.

Carbs require more water to process so your body gains 3-5 pounds of water when it switches to carb burning. How can this be good for your body. Causes body odor, smelly gas, smelly poop & pee, and joint pain. How can this be good? Keto is just cleaner.
