Good evening, Peggy. Nice piece, interesting way to turn the top side. Gives a different look compaired to the typical bowl. Well done.
Thanks so much 😊
Looks great, Peggy. The black background and colored wax were a great way to highlight the deep grain of the ash. Take care.
Bill
Thanks, Bill!!
Very nice 👍🏻
Thank you 👍
🌹🌹🌹 As I told you before; you've got a way with colors Peggy. Ths one is stunning too. A mid night enigma is what comes to mind for me. But no matter how you call it, it comes short on it's beauty. Thank you for sharing my friend. 🧡
Thanks!
Freddie is pretty is pretty cool.
😎✌️
Another fantastic job. you sure know how to do the colors I would say the pin striped platter.
Thanks 😊 😎✌️
I nearly put my teacup down when you reached for the black😯 but the artist in you was right. By the time I had finished my cup there Sat a fine looking platter.👍👍☕ keep safe well and happy.
Haha!! Thanks for watching!
Peggy
Beautiful and no cracks or missing chunks
I think that it's one of your best
Thank you! 😊
“Your going to think I’m crazy”, thankfully all of us have a little crazy. Nice contrast in the finished product.
Thanks!
lacquer makes that look great!
Thanks!
Thank you for sharing. Best woo
Best video I've seen on wood working. Thank you for verbally sharing
Thank you too!
Thanks very much!!!!!!
I wasn't sure what to think at first, but I do really like the way the piece turned out. The name of this piece as I would call it would be tiger or tiger alien, cause of the shape. I really do like the piece great job.
Cool, thanks!!!
Nice job
Thanks!
Absolutely beautiful 😍
Thank you! 😊
Very nice.
✌️
Oh wow that is cool 😎 af!!
ha! Thank you!
After having watched Martin Saban-Smith's videos, I knew you weren't crazy. Great result.
The color reminds me of my old Boston Terrier Bea. She was black and white indoors, but in the sunlight her black fur had amazing golden brown brindle stripes in it.
Cool!! Thanks!
Fantastic Peggy! I loved the way you used the marker to define where you wanted to turn to. I have a fair amount of ash for turning and I do have trouble targeting dimensions as I work. I guess the light wood makes it hard for me to 'see' where I want to get to. Anyway, I'm going to try your method on the next one. Thank you for the demo! Can't help you with the name for your platter as I don't name my work, but, I am guilty of naming some trees I've planted around here. FYI, I'm not proud of this! Just the way I roll. Cheers!
Haha!!!! Trees are life-they deserve names! Thanks for watching ✌️
The gloss finish looks great. I'm going to try the markers, much easier to see than a pencil.
Definitely!! Thanks for watching!! ✌️
Another beautiful turn! Amazing platter. How about “ Mid Summer Nights’ Moon”
I like it!
I was hoping for green. 🙂 But the black looks nice. Call it Black Thunder.
😎
Absolutely stunning platter midnight moon, great job Peggy take care stay safe god bless ✌✌ Peace out ✌✌
Great name!!! Thanks!
Didn't know about it at first, But you've done very nicely with it.
Thanks 😊
Okay I don't see how anybody can give you a thumbs down enjoy your videos new subscriber
Awesome, thank you!!!! ✌️
Most interesting…didn’t think I would like it, but I love it
Ha! Thanks!
Beautiful work 👏! Call it "midnight zebra". Take care and GOD BLESS!
I like that!
Gorgeous Peggy!!! I might say one of your best?
Thanks very much ✌️
Well I think it's obviously the: "Awesome Saucer!"
Obvs!! Yes!!!
Nice one Peggy
Thanks!!
nice job. I've done something similar in the past but not quite in the same order. Painted the entire flat surface of the platter then dug out the bowl portion. It gives you a nice crisp transition line. Just saying 🙂
Cool, thanks
Bonjours très bien fait et bien pensé, s'est un projet magnifique. MR de Be
Merci de bien vouloir!
Como sempre maravilhoso 💕😍
Thanks!!
OMGoodness, you are so funny. "If you have made it this far in the video, you must like something"... Like EVERYTHING. Classic Peggy Line "I have been known to change my mind", need to start collecting these and make a "Wisdom of Peggy" woodturners book...I love the gloss finish, you did not make a mistake by using gloss. Satin just would not have popped the grain as much. As the name is already Freddie ... I guess "Freddie goes to Hollywood"
Beautiful turning, wonderful commentary, All the classics of a PFWoodturning video.
"Buy a platter, Feed a Peggy" 🐱👤🐱👤(Nija Cat)
LOL. ✌
Interesting project. Remember - Just because people think you're crazy doesn't mean you're not! LOL
Thanks again for the video.
Haha! ✌️
I like it
Thanks 😊
Gorgeous platter! How about after the movie, “Black Beauty”.
Good one!
Different look, but it looks beautiful.
Chris
Thanks!
Looks great. The embellishing wax adds a lot of pizzazz. Well done.
Thanks 😊
Great “hat”!
Haha!
I like it glossy Peggy...you did nice work on the "Super Massive Black Hole "... stay safe...press on 😎 Joe
Ha!! Yes!
That's a really striking result. I really appreciate working with ash. So much you can do with that grain. I did not think that a spray finish would adhere to a piece with wax on it like that. Your finish looked great and not at all like the spray failed to stick. Did it last, or was there any concern about it not sticking where it was supposed to?
The spray stuck just fine, no problems!
always unique, never boring, especially when you throw in the coloring aspect of it. i always cringe when you bring out the colors, but it turned out pretty good.
😎✌
Great job as always.
How long would an ash plate or an ash bowl last if one used it frequently to eat from?
And, the finish. Just curious. 👍
Thanks. The plate is not made to eat from, more of a serving plate/bowl, for bread, rolls, etc. Or could be used for fruit. It could be used to eat from, however, water, milk or other liquids would lessen the life.
I can’t help you with a name but I can tell you that I like it. 🌞
Thanks, Ray!
