Rosberg was never as talented as Hamilton but you have to credit his grit and determination . People say about him having luck too but that is part of racing. Rosberg was a seriously clever and talented guy and I hope fans will respect him more with time. You don't win a WDC just by luck or talent it is always a mixture of factors. Some of the things Nico did were devious but he needed to harden himself mentally after 2014 and 15 in order to become WDC- he did that in 2016. Also Rosberg was not a coward for retiring after winning the title-he'd just achieved his dream and chose to retire at the top.

To everyone saying Nico didn't deserve the championship:
    1) Wtf are you smoking, he was by far the most consistent driver that year and nearly always did what he had to do to win that championship
    2) He showed more determination than Hamilton did after the disappointment of the last two seasons. In 2014 Nicos championship was destroyed by a critical failure on the final race but he refused to retire just in case something went wrong for Hamilton. Hamilton consistently gave up on races (Baku for example) and complained about every little thing if it wasn't going his way.
    3) I bet everyone talking about Hamiltons bad luck that year isn't saying the same things about Vettel this year which effectively gifted the title to Hamilton.
Well done Nico you earned it

Gotta add 7 points more to Rosberg, that Hamilton cost him by causing the crash in Spain GP, DNF for both instead P1+2. Therefor there is no bad luck of Hamilton at all. Hamilton lost and probably would have lost again in 2017.

    • @jraybay

Alex Clark-Thompson 1) He strolled away with it when Lewis wasn't in the picture, with a car that was head and shoulders above the rest... He then proceeded to lose his 40+ point lead faster than he got it but ok.
      2) No, Nico got destroyed by Lewis, period. The only reason Nico had a chance was because of the gimmick *double points* system. He was also blown away at the start by Lewis and was behind him from the beginning. Lewis 11 wins in 2014 ... Nico 5... You tell me who deserved it most. When Lewis's car was eventually fixed in Baku, he set the fastest lap of the race (at the time) too. Wouldn't exactly call that 'giving up' but he knew it'd be wiser to fight another day instead of trying to catch someone who was 30 seconds ahead with limited laps, but ok.
      3) Vettel blew it himself with idiotic moves and moments. Not much else to say.

    • @ajtct98
      @ajtct98 7 років тому +31

Jraybay I sense there is no point arguing with you as shown in your thumbnail but I have to disagree with some of your points. Firstly when you say Hamilton set the fastest lap therefore he didn't give up you clearly haven't listened to his team radio. Hamilton invents problems that the team don't see because they don't exist. Secondly you talk about Vettel stupid moments referring to Singapore obviously. Firstly he made no contact with Verstappen and had no way of knowing where kimi was. That was bad luck. I see you fail to notice how Hamilton nearly always violently cuts across people at the start of races when on pole and gets away with it because others know to back out now.

Joe Dyson I think the reason why people say he didn’t deserve it was because rosbergs car was pratically perfectly reliable whereas Hamilton had a lot of reliability issues in the first 12 races. But with that rosberg still had to perform and get the full advantage out of those events which made him a good driver and deserving of the championship imo. Hell a lot of people seeing their rival get problems so early on would get complacent and not take full advantage of it all, something rosberg didn’t do. You simply can’t fault that. World according to Hamilton fanboys:
2016 - Rosberg was lucky and didn't deserve the title because Hamilton had a couple of issues with the car during the season.
2017 - Hamilton totally deserves the title even though Vettel crashed, didn't even start one race, and had 2 more races totally fucked without his fault, which literally lost him the championship during the moment in the season when Ferrari was clearly faster than Mercedes in q's and races.
Let me put it this way fanboys. Rosberg deserved the title more last year than Hamilton does this year. Hamilton DIDN'T WIN the title in 2017, Vettel LOST it. End of.

From not a Hamilton fan, let me help you to understand the very obvious difference.
2016: Hamilton lost an almost definite win (Malaysia), had to start last in Belgium, tenth in Russia and was hit by Bottas in Bahrain.
2017: Vettel lost maybe a second place in Japan (might have been third), had to start last in Malaysia and lost some points at Silverstone.
2016: Rosberg had no reliability issues.
2017: Hamilton lost a win at Baku due to the headrest.
2016: Rosberg won the championship by just 5 points.
2017: Even if Hamilton retires and Vettel wins tomorrow, Hamilton will win the title by 18 points.

So the only logical way was to Rosberg into the pack and hope someone would overtake him. What else could he have done??? Not as if he was Senna or Schumacher and rammed Prost or Hill off the road to win the title, don't know why Hamilton got so much stick for this especially with Mercedes already having won the constructors championship. Consiguió revertir la situación después de dos años duros contra Lewis en los que había quedado por detrás. Fortaleció su mente y confió en su talento, para ser mucho más estable y determinado.
